former Microsoft exec Doug Woodward at recent conference speaking on NASA shared the JPL crew were told to include a microphone on the instrument package on the rover. I wonder if that can be confirmed and what or whom were they expecting to hear?

Do we have any idea how the martian moons look from the surface? Do we have any idea what the distortion pattern of stars and other bright natural bodies near/visible from the martian surface?

That's actually an interesting idea! Have any of the rovers thus far taken images of the night sky on Mars?
