A study cited by Richard Hoagland, did it acually occur
Hey Folks,
I was having a discussion about a statement made by Stephen Hawking
that if we contacted aliens it would be similar to what happened to indigenous cultures
when Columbus arrived.
That statement always seemed to me to be a repeat of the conclusions of a study cited by Richard Hoagland.
From what I remember there was a huge conference that convened in the late 50's, to discuss what our policy about disclosure should be if we happened to discover alien artifacts.
This conference had a lot of scientists in it , engineers sociologists historians etc.
I remember watching a video by Hoagland that showed documents , records of the proceedings etc, can anyone offer some links to any documentation on it?

I don't know about that one precisely .. and hope you get your answer from someone here John.
But to the topic .. and further I'm confronted with the situation surrounding me - between the ET and Human realities - the 'cross section' I experience due to this personally, with all its weight and peripeteias ,
I'm still allowing myself and reality a 'hope' , good faith in meaningful outcomes . Sometimes even that feels like luxury .
The contrasts that can be witnessed in this world are , truly enormous and entail all of our undertakings , potentials , situations . And these are human to human contrasts and confrontations ,
now .. if I visualise the level of advanced reality where our extraterrestrial ancestors and siblings come from and where they abide and all the key difference between how things work 'there' and how they work 'here' ,
I can't help myself than to feel helpless about it , and speechless too , more often .
The problem is that there is no 'shortcut' .
I don't think that individual knowledge and experience are dangerous to the human collective because there are always ways to deal with it , both good and bad ways .
But suppose .. this human populace was confronted with existence of extremely advanced reality that won't be 'engineerable' , replicable , in any , potentially acceptable time-frame ,
it would just 'sit there' , above or bellow , as a huge puzzle to many, threat to others, source of frustration,
something human civilisation could study over long period of time to make better sense of themselves but as I'm saying, something they could never understand in time-frame available to them ,
it all in their eyes, all of their eyes .. what would it be like .. global madness , I fear .
I do think that because all the individual reactions to reality - that is both physical, energetic and mental reality I've had to confront with others - human beings - over the years .. and their reactions, many of them were purely biological , instinctive,
small percentage of them were empathetic ( concerning ET life as such ) or intelligent - insightful with the energy , reality itself .
It makes me feel self-destructive ..periodically , realising I have no chance of being understood . And I'm not in situation where playing on human empathy note would be important or helpful , it only twists the possibility of correct understanding even further .
So I'm also questioning the very core of whatever is going on here .. maybe it's important to keep secrets .
The problem about it is that while many of us have to 'keep secrets' we can't make good sense of reality, communicate , find one another .. it's the problem .
It prevents the positive evolution of mankind, it prevents setting records straight .

Are you referring to the study done by the Brookings Institute ??? people should be kept In the dark about ET's , we aren't ready ??? society would collapse , marital law , and all that ??? it's a based on fear , the ptb would be able to lie anymore about history , the NSA hasn't a clue about spying compared to our ET watchers ... cloaked ships park everywhere , and record every language spoken on earth ... hell they watched the cardinals at the Vatican kill the pope , by poison , two drops in his bedtime tea , he was looking into where the money was going ... sorry I can't shut up today ...energy is so high , like I'm waiting for something big , that's overdue ...

Thank you, that name helped me find a link on it!

Indeed I am sure that the actual decisions were made long before that, but this study was done to make it look like unarguable fact.
