UPDATE: It appears that Pope Francis tweeted out this morning, however Conservative Beaver has confirmed Pope Francis has a social media team that schedules his posts, and this one was pre-planned. If you click on the tweet, you can see TweetDeck was used to schedule the post.
Pope Francis is still in Federal Custody in Italy, hence, he has not been seen on video. The FBI are enroute for the interrogation, according to sources.
VATICAN / ITALY – Pope Francis aka Jorge Mario Bergoglio was arrested Saturday in connection with an 80- count indictment of charges including possession of child pornography, human trafficking, incest, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony fraud.
The Italian National Prosecutor’s Office confirmed it ordered the arrests, and filed the charges.
Man arrested on drug charges now facing 63 additional charges including child porn, human trafficking in Limestone County
Military officers, Italian police, and their Sex Crimes Unit went to the pope’s home in the Vatican, they arrested him and several other high ranking officials, and placed them all under arrest without incident. People near the scene have reported hearing gunshots, but the Police would not confirm if they were the ones firing the weapons.
Pope Francis is currently being held in an unknown prison, being interrogated by Federal Agents working for the state of Italy and Interpol. The FBI is reportedly making arrangements to fly in and interrogate him once Interpol is done with him.
Giuseppe Governale, Italy’s chief anti-mafia prosecutor, was called in early into the investigation into Pope Francis and others within the Vatican. He said the group was “underestimated” and particularly dangerous because of its ability to proliferate across nations and infiltrate them.
“These individuals are truly the worst of the worst in society. I can promise you, we will not stop targeting human trafficking until we put a stop to this despicable trade in the Vatican and Italy, as well as surrounding countries around Europe. While I am a lead prosecutor in Italy, my department will strive to protect our citizens, especially those that need us most, our children”.

In order to make the arrest, police and military agents had to cut off the power in the Vatican, as well as dim the live cam. This was noticed by web-sleuths, who quickly became suspicious of what was happening in the Vatican.
Some people speculated the Pope could be the “first arrest.” And it appears they were right in their speculation. According to the Interpol agents, this is the “first out of many.”
The judge has imposed a EU wide publication ban. Fortunately, the ban doesn’t affect Canada or the US, and the Conservative Beaver received the exclusive scoop for this story via a confidential Italian contact.

It sounds a bit like what DJ (Dark Journalist) calls "Junk conspiracy".
Also the story about the arrest of the Italian president seems to make sense only for people unfamiliar with the Italian governmental system. The presidency has just a symbolic, ceremonial role in Italy so arresting the Italian president would be almost meaningless.
We won't go far if we just keep on spreading unverified rumors that turn out to be completly unfounded in the next news cycle....

As I understand, the Vatican is an independent city state (according to wikipedia "the Vatican has full ownership, exclusive dominion, and sovereign authority and jurisdiction"). Therefore to me it seems unlikely that Italian police or military units would make arrests in the Vatican, unless asked to do so by the Vatican itself. That the Vatican would have asked the Italian police or military to arrest it's head of state, the pope, seems strange.

If the information is correct, it was stated that Interpol made the initial arrests.

I fully agree - there may have been an actual blackout (those happen occasionally). I think we should cautiously wait and watch, and try to substantiate before we come just another conduit for spreading nonsense.

You may be right ... I couldn't access the actual site, but I suspect that perhaps someone noted the blackout in Italy - googled it, found an old Conservative Beaver article made a false connection and then the rampant spreading of speculation started. We should verify if this isn't the case.

Yeah I agree ... I think maybe that site is quick to publish stuff on a whim, or for the clicks. All other articles seem to be citing this one. This is my conclusion until more evidence turns up on this topic.

What a nightmare this all is. I haven't found anything other than hopium so far (even if some of it is quite good). I should clarify that when I say hopium I don't mean I think it is nonsense, just that there is no way to verify it.
Maybe this is the ten days of darkness, where you just can't get any reassurance?
I can see the need for everybody to see the msm lie for as long as possible and keep operations a secret. I get we need a lesson (one way or another).
Still keeping the faith here though. And to me the battle was already lost without the recent help, so why create all this drama if the war was already won (from the their perspective)?

Thanks for pointing that out ... but if you "read" through this thread instead of just reacting you would note my reaction was highly skeptical of the original claim, and pointing out the original source as media outlet that has a history of outlandish articles that bear no truth. Also I was the first to post the write-up from the guy who lives next to the vatican and debunked the outage there. ;)

I received so many links to videos and articles about how a huge sting was underway. There was a gunfight. The vatican was surrounded by military and police. And the pope was arrested and being held in an italian prison waiting for the fbi to arrive.
Now, i love a good conspiracy as much as everyone. You might remember when i posted the video of smoke rising over the vatican. That video was shown in newscasts all over the world. It was actually a fire at a nearby tire shop. I’m in snopes now thanks to that one.
But a gunfight at the vatican and the pope being held by the fbi.. What?
I looked out my window (i can see the vatican from my apartment) lights were on. No gunfights. No police. Cars were coming and going as usual on an early winter sunday morning.
i can't find anything on india, except an article citing that india is blackout capital of the world as blackouts a regular occurrence.

Grtn blamed the blackout on problems in the swiss and french networks. Italian industry minister antonio marzano called for an investigation.

swiss power firm atel said a tree, uprooted by strong winds, had knocked out a line carrying power to italy over the alps. But it said that alone could not block power to all of italy, and blamed italy's power grid for not reacting swiftly enough.
It was the fourth major western blackout in two months, after cuts in north america, parts of london and scandinavia.

Thanks for pointing that out ... but if you "read" through this thread instead of just reacting you would note my reaction was highly skeptical of the original claim, and pointing out the original source as media outlet that has a history of outlandish articles that bear no truth. Also I was the first to post the write-up from the guy who lives next to the vatican and debunked the outage there. ;)
Ok, but as the person that started this thread I have to say; after the guy said there was no power outage we then we got a report about the entire country of Italy having a power outage. So of course we have to continue to ask questions.
My opening post was a call for verification - and round and round we went. Considering what we have all gone through in the last year there are going to be people jumping to hope and people upset at something not proven.
Bottom line - look at our coverage, our ability to communicate on a world level without fighting. At the end of the day I see a job well done and our hearts and minds still open.

The report of all of Italy having a power outage, I believe only came from my erroneous post from the Daily Mail (although if you look the only date on that page is today's date) ... my apologies for that.

or the purpose of information only: in a previous post it was mentioned that Interpol made the initial arrests. According to Wikipedia: "Contrary to popular belief, INTERPOL is itself not a law enforcement agency".
