What is Project Avalon to you?

As we are all different sorts of beings, I figure we all have different reasons for being here. For choosing Project Avalon as our preferring vehicle of expression in what is left of the Alternative Community.
I'm curious to know, why do you keep coming back? Why do you spend time here, sharing your thoughts and feelings, your hurts and your angers, your love and your joys?
I'll start:
I've been on and off PA since 2011, almost a decade now. I've retired a couple of times, but even during those retirements, I would come back here in order to 'catch up' and see what was going on out there in the wider world.
I find Project Avalon to be the most ably led of all of the public AltCom Forums, as consistent in its moderation and leadership as is humanly possible in a time when consistency is difficult to find. I also find that the project continues to attract amazing minds and spirits dedicated to their version of the truth and, beneath all of that, the deeper and more intimate Truth of materiality and incarnation, to express fully the infinite capacities of human nature in service to all aspects of being, represented by individual contribution and continuous co-creation.
I find challenge here in Project Avalon, souls with whom I can contend respectfully and at the deepest levels, and we all need that somewhere in our lives at some time and, perhaps, especially now.
I find the past, present and future of the AltCom here, at Project Avalon. Its roots have come from the real search for truth and it does, indeed, represent a chronicling of the human awakening in this special time and space, where the entire multiverse is concentrated upon a single point of awakening and infinite potentiality, as represented by the great change we are currently undergoing as a global society and planet.
I find hope, here. Despite the things that divide those who come here, there remains a commitment to truth that goes beyond surface level posturing. So much so that a substantial number of folks who've gone on to become luminaries in the AltCom - as both White Hats and Black Hats - have made their way through this portal and out, into the wider world to continue their missions, whatever those might be.
And, lastly, I find respect here. It is everywhere in life, you don't have to go looking for it, but what I mean is I find people who honor the art and science of clear communication, who are committed to it, who do the best they can to represent the highest version of themselves possible and that, my friends, is priceless.
How about you? I'm curious to know, what is Project Avalon to you?

I have been here from the start. Searching the rabbit hole I found early on.
I have learned much here from the assembly of humanity that makes Avolon what it is.
I have watched the arguments and brew ha hahs that have happened over the years and just try to add something positive to it.
Also I have learned endless insights.
There are some very loving awesome humans here and on this planet.
That's what keeps me around.

Project Avalon to me is a place to think. It makes me smile, sometimes cry, sometimes it upsets me but most often it makes me think. Sometimes I agree, other times I do not. But always, my opinions are accepted. I have also made some very good friends!

For me it is a way to see an expression of myself in others in one concentrated place. Avalon reminds me that there are many more people like us out there, much more than we see in the day to day world...x... N

I like what you wrote, thanks for start it.
I quoted your last sentence, one word actually answer the question. Respect.
I've been more into IRC and Usenet, but also in many different forums since the 90's, I generally post based on my personal experience, but read and learn much more from others with greater knowledge on many different fields, the thing here on Avalon is that we can find it all in one place, or at least a good reference to keep researching somewhere else, because the space allow it to us, I am sure a question will always have an answer here, even if that answer is not the expected one. I like when people are frank and honest, this attitude keep things clean (that's why I never used any mainstream social media).

Erowid was one forum that I enjoyed for over 10 years because I am fascinated with entheogenic plants, and they have the best alternative content there, until I lost my password and it was attached to an email with a domain that I do not own anymore, then account lost and I didn't created another one, but I still go back there for readings, but I also found many posts here on Avalon regards the subject.
Another forum that I used to visit is permies (permaculture forums), but since they are promoting too much stuffs in there, I walked away, it used to be good, now every post is someone offering their products or services, I guess there is place for everything and marketing mixed with knowledge is the nail in the coffin, imagine Avalon selling health products, PDC, therapies sessions, etc.. in between posts? lol (sorry for the joke) again Avalon cover permaculture as well.
I am here because it is virtually possible to discusses about.. almost anything. If it sounds too weird I am pretty sure the moderators will point it out, some other forums will just ban/kick the user without any explanation (a.k.a. censorship and laziness).
I first learned about project Avalon from the project Camelot, a friend from Taiwan gave me the link in 2010, since then I started watching Bill's Interviews and reading the forums, last years I decided to become a member. :)
I will finish with a quote from the Avalon website
"To encourage and support positive, constructive, and high quality dialog and networking with the goal of creating the future on Planet Earth for ourselves and our children that we want to experience."

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

For me Project Avalon Forum is a platform for like-minded spirits some (or many) homesick of where we came from as a Soul before Earth ... at least I feel less "alone" how I see/experience things in life ... especially when so many fall in all kinds of blatant deceptions (24/7 MSM mass conditioning).
Project Avalon is also very very therapeutic for me, more than any other physical, emotional, mental or psychological therapies <<< no joke!
Truly appreciate many different (respectful) insights from many other Avalonians around the world with different backgrounds/expertises.
The quality standard of the partly (controversial) conspiracy research topics and how it is treated is far above average when I compare this forum with other forums with similar topics, in my view, no one comes even close to what Project Avalon has to offer.

Eternal grateful for having people like Bill Ryan :bowing:not giving up (being, amongst others, attacked on so many levels).
I felt immediately "at home" here on day one when I started to become active here since 10 years ago! ... Also am very impressed how Bill manages it all ... Not always easy to "please everybody" and trying to be being 100% authentic and respectful to ones own boundaries at the same time.
- Also a big thank you to all active Project Avalon moderators & admins too

  cheers,

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

For me PA is a unique place where things are really scrutinized in detail. Several times I got more data on something which changed my views. Also I learned about individuals, who also take no sh*t, for example: Catherine Austin Fitts, Joseph P. Farrell and Daniel Liszt - just to name a few.

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

I have my reasons, and it isn't that I don't want to tell you, I feel that i can't articulate them enough for them to make sense. Like the reason why you have a favourite pair of shorts that be design would no longer be called shorts and you have many other pairs but putting these ones on almost makes the world feel comfortable and allows you to relax.
But life is now making me put my pants in the recycling bin and I am no longer on here as much as I used to, hopefully things will change back eventually
Kudos to Mark/Rahkyt for the OP and may all our pants fit comfortably

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

For me, my time on this 3D rock is a journey of problems to solve, challenges to face, reaquaint with old "friends" to gently nudge us and experiences to enjoy. The PA forum is a great place to share one's earthly challenges, experiences and meet new friends to share news, views and gain their perspectives - without judgement, but a polite nudge on occasion can help us think or refocus our thinking, opinion, take or intentions.
What I really like is I can dip in, dip out, and when I return its like I'm welcomed as tho I haven't left. One thing for sure I feel richer for the shared wisdom and perspectives that I seek to read, relate, assimilate and apply. Thank you all :) You rock.

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

Avalon has helped me keep my sanity through this enormous Shift we are going through.
I underwent a huge crisis of faith after 911, my biggest initiation into Conspiracy Theory, and that's when I started jumping down rabbit holes in earnest.
But I felt very isolated and what a huge relief it was to discover Project Camelot, and then so much more relief when Avalon was created.
Avalon has been my primary window to the world as it really is, and has empowered me to live without the false hope that comes from living in denial.
I gripe at times about how addicted I've become to the forum.
Also how I'd be in such better financial shape if I devoted as much time to a paying job as I spend here!
But it's a good way to make a voluntary contribution to the cause of Truth.
It's very difficult to live without hope and on Avalon I've found reason to have hope as well as reason to despair.
( And it's not easy to have hope when our eyes are wide open! )
https://img.cinemablend.com/quill/9/...aafa60a9f1.jpg
...So I feel much gratitude for the other truth-seeking souls I've found here to share the experience with, and to have fun with, too! :sun: :jester: :grouphug:
And gratitude for the great, hard-working MOD team. :muscle:
I've locked horns with Bill a time or two, :mmph: but it's all water under the bridge (hopefully), and I appreciate how his dedication keeps the forum going, and keeps it civil and relevant.
Thanks to Rahkyt for the eloquent start to this thread, and for thinking of it.

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

		Cool thread Mark.
I came to Avalon sort of by mistake. I'd lost track of Bill and Kerry for a bit, went to find them again and wound up here. It was right as all the "Charles" stuff was going on. And I thought to myself, cool, Bill's done another video. But I had no idea it was such a big deal at the time. I was totally naive. I didn't even know what a chat forum was. I only signed up because I thought I had to to see the new video. And when I found out what a chat forum was, I had zero intention of ever posting on it. But then I did. One post led to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, and the rest as they say is history. That was over 10 years ago
It was all a kind of fortunate mistake. And this forum has been a wonderful tool for me. The most important things I've learned aren't the topics discussed really, although I've greatly enjoyed all that. The forum taught me how to think, how to express those thoughts in a number of ways, how to form arguments, how to write effectively , how to understand people and language, and how to be part of a community. I've always been a lone wolf, so that last one is important. It gave me an education I couldn't have possibly gotten anywhere else. It also gave me something to do when my health was so poor that anything other than typing was off the table. It kept me sane that way. And it gave me something to look forward to during that time when there was literally nothing else. And now, it's a place where I can say virtually anything I please within the bounds of reason, and that has just been invaluable to me. It's allowed me a unique brand of freedom of expression i dont think I could have gotten anywhere else. So Bill, I'm pleased to say publically that I'm indebted to you my friend. Youve done me and many others a wonderful favor by starting this place.

I have followed Bill and Kerry since day one and even signed up for the previous incarnation of Avalon. I don't post much and have primarily been read only, it is simply my way. Ultimately, this is a place where we can be seen and heard with respect, intellect and appreciation for our ideas and our humanity.
Thank you Bill, moderators and fellow Avalonians.

PA is a giant encyclopedia where you can find information on almost anything - from in depth and alternative analysis of current affairs - when COVID first broke it was my go-to site to find out what was happening, it suggests an incredible range of complementary treatments and dietary advice for health issues, not to mention ancient and alt history, music, art, photography, nature, animals, how to live off grid
Fortunately most, if not all, the warnings and predictions posted here never eventuate - the 3 gorges dam still seems to be going strong; a global coastal event killing millions of people predicted at the end of 2019 never happened. Rat fish oil tanked along with Pete Peterson, and no one mentions C60 anymore. Moderators mysteriously disappear, new ones pop up brandishing their real names, people retire, or are retired, they go on sabbatical, and return again like a comet blazing across the night sky. Some of us get very sick and some of us die. It's a universe in microcosm happening on our screens across the planet!

I think I've aired this notion before, that a good number of Avalon members know/knew each other in other existences, previous lives, or have crossed paths before. That's what I suspect. This is like a worldwide communal meeting place for like-minded, and maybe familiar souls, which the internet makes possible. I see Avalon as my extended family. This is the only place I ever felt a sense of belonging. I feel blessed and privileged to be part of it. Thank you Bill now and forever for making this happen.

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

I love all of these answers, thank you one and all for participating. This is really and truly what it is all about. The dedication to the search for meaning and truth, whatever that means to us all in the context of a world where truth does not seem to want to be found, even by the most ardent of seekers.
So many wonderful responses. What struck me about them so far is the commitment to community and the way PA fulfills a need that cannot be assuaged elsewhere for some of us. Sure, there are other forums and gatherings of souls out there and there are many honorable seekers we come across in our journeys out in the world and here online. This is a wonderful place to come and read and dive off into the void, searching and following links down rabbit holes and into alternate dimensions of knowing. I find that the internet, in general, has become so difficult to search using the major search platforms that the only way to find the real juicy stuff, the things that google doesn't want most people to find, is to come where people who are integrally involved in these matters congregate in order to get the information in as direct a manner as possible, even if it is second, third or fourth-hand.
Being able to access the Avalon Library, the minds and the threads with so much personal experience and conjecture that opens up your own mind and leads you in directions you'd never thought of before, is a major benefit of being present in the project. Just the possibility of having your mind opened to something you'd never thought about before and expanding your possibilities is worth so much.

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

I go on PA early morning, last before bedtime (although I try to avoid really scarey stuff then, I save that for daytime reading!) and in between time, depending on the day. I can't even guess what this past year would have been like without the sane information, humor and uplifting posts by everyone here. I asked a woman of my age in the grocery the other day why she had gotten the "vaccine". We had been having a chat about many things and sharing a laugh, a recipe and a walk down memory lane - my best interactions these days are often in stores! lol! She replied that she had gotten the vaccine "just to be safe" 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 It was so clear to me in that moment that the only reason I wasn't thinking the same way was because of PA. It's not that I think I am "right", necessarily, but that I feel my view is based on a lot of reading and watching that most people just don't, or choose not to, have access to, and for which I am enormously grateful. So thank you, Bill, and all you lovely other people who are part of my life in ways you will never know. Your depth of understanding, compassion, knowledge and your ability to communicate all those leave me in awe sometimes. Love and blessings to you all, Diane

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

This was/is the only place where i was able to express myself, even if not fully but if you would compare to other places, this is kind of the reasons
- Was never told to 'grow up"
- Was never told to "come back in 20 years once you know better'
- Was never told 'go back to your own country' or any such thing
- Was never told 'Why do you even bother? Don't you have a site on your own language so you can join there?' or such
- Was never told 'I know you think you are right, but let me explain why you can't know better than me'
- Was never told 'you don't belong here'
- Was never told "What can you possibly know, you are just a kid, shut up and listen so you can learn for once"
- Was never told "You talk as if you knew something, you are just barren land to me"
Among many many other things i have experienced everywhere else
In short, i found that people here were open, kind and aware, and they wanted to hear and talk and they treated me with respect and much love, and never once told me to go away because i had different opinions, unlike any other site i have been in the past 5 years or so, which always, no matter what, ended going into one of those points listed above
None of that ever happens here, and even if i go completely frustrated, there's always respect and kindness and willing to listen and move on from bad stuff. Again unlike anywhere else
If i were to compare, most other sites are like going to work, and having to follow ridiculous rules and being forced to act the part of a good employee, while Avalon is like going to the mountains, and feel the fresh air in your face and if you want to scream you do, and if you just want to sit and watch the wind blowing and the sky, you do, and if you want to sleep against a tree, you just do. And it will be perfectly fine to tell everyone else what you dreamed while lying there, and it will be cool and people will actually share their own dreams, just when they did the same as you. There will never be "I'm sure you did, but i had a better one that you, because i know you are not better than me" situation going on :)
So, to me, Avalon is like the mountains, where you can be free, in ways no other place in the world you can be
ETA: I also always felt like it was like looking at things from the top-down, like a black box, always circling around but never actually getting into it..
It was never fully what i hoped and wanted, there was always lack of meaning, and lack of joy and purpose, and all conversations would always be "this is great, thanks for sharing, now good luck and bye!" Then found that here it wasn't at all like that, could not even begin to describe how different the world looks now, once you actually can expand on everything and start getting somewhere

If you have played online for some time, you get to see the meme of "ok login off now, see you tomorrow guys!" and then the status of the friend says "Last Seen: 450 days ago", and you never get to know what happened because he lived on another country and you always only met online playing games and never called other way or knew addresses or personal info...
This also happens when you go to multi cultural schools, where friends come live school life with you then go away once school is over and you may keep contact for some time then lost contact for years/ever
Life is like that sometimes :(

I am indebted to your wonderful spirits and better off because of the richness you gift to me each day!
I truly Love you from the pit of my soul!

Re: What is Project Avalon to you?

More or less Avalon is a social outlet. I'm not on social media or any other forums. Well a couple, but I rarely post or lurk them. One is an auto repair forum that's full of numbskulls and the other one is a Buddhist forum. The former is only good for technical advice, but not always. Too many dumb, intolerable rednecks and only a few actual mechanics. The latter is great, it's just a very linear and in depth forum. Very great for research, I do some lurking there.
Avalon is the only place I socialize in. I used to be a member of a large forum for the skeptic minded and I posted there similar to how I do here. That place was a madhouse though. People would/still do viciously argue, openly insult and wish ill on each other. It's unbelievable the things those dummies would say to each other, they were the mightiest of all keyboard warriors. Two of them did get so worked up over an online argument that they tried to set up a fight in their local area (UK somewhere) - they got banned for that. I was laughing at how stupid they could be to do such a thing. Straight out of a South Park episode..
I rarely debate here, I don't see much of a reason to. Many of us are set in our own beliefs. Disagreements happen everywhere in life and it's most tolerable here. This is a place where I can stick with, "Do I want to be right or happy?" I do call people out occasionally, but that's rare.
