WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
We again have a war presidency with Biden/Harris for sure. The agenda seems clear.
The US now without doubt prepares and helps Ukraine for war against the Donbass. The Donbass also prepares for war and started for the first time a conscription of young men fit for military service. This could become very 'hot' very soon. This seems dangerous since it could possibly escalate even into a WW3 scenario.
This is information by a Russia insider and investigative native German reporter who lives in Russia and reports for a German alternative news site (Nuoviso) mostly about Russian affairs or the Russian view of international affairs.
So far I have not found a more detailed and comprised info than this one on a lot of alternative or mainstream English sites. But there will soon be some for sure.
Therefore I use this article and applied the Deepl.com translator (https://www.deepl.com/translator said by many to be the best) for a translation into English from the German source text. I also include an English RT article about the situation below it.
I so far find T. Roeper's writing always realistic and fact based although I did not always agree with some conclusions. Yet it is often down to earth and no nonsense talk mostly.
Here is still the original article if s.o. is relatively fluent in German:
https://www.anti-spiegel.ru/2021/was...d-vorbereiten/
If you can listen to German then here is the interview on Nuoviso, the impending and seemingly unavoidable Donbass war is the first of several topics.

Translation (deepl):
What kind of war the USA is preparing against Russia
There was a commentary on Russian television that makes one think and worry, because the logic cannot be dismissed. The new US administration is heading for war is playing with fire. And it is in Europe.

I keep reporting on how the situation in Ukraine politically, but also militarily in the Donbass, is getting worse since Joe Biden took office as US president. Everything points to an imminent Ukrainian offensive, and in Kiev the opposition and the last media critical of the government are being eliminated at the same time. Meanwhile, new arms shipments continue to arrive in Ukraine from the United States. I report on this regularly in my "Ukraine Updates," the latest of which you can find here.
And you don't hear a word about all this in the Western media. It is not even reported in the West that Kiev has already openly abandoned the Minsk Agreement. And the fact that the Western states, including Germany, recently voted at the OSCE against a simple resolution calling for the implementation of the Minsk Agreement, the "quality media" did not report either.
The West is also already openly turning away from the peace plan for the Donbass. But the new fierce war is supposed to come as a complete surprise to the public in the West and, of course, the media will accuse Russia of having started the war.
In the program "News of the Week" on Russian television, the presenter in a commentary put one and one together and mentioned the possible scenarios and I translated it.
Start of translation:
In the program "News of the Week" we want to tell not only about events, but also about phenomena. To look at phenomena or sequences of incidents or words, we consider important already for this reason, to be prepared for future events. After all, events are also prepared. In my opinion, the West is now preparing nothing more and nothing less than a war against us.
The scale of the war is not really clear yet, but America hopes, first, that it can control the scale of a military conflict. Second, it hopes that a war, as in times past, will not touch United States territory. And third, the United States hopes that a war will benefit it, as usual. At least that was the case in the two world wars, after which America, having shed little blood of its own, was swimming in wealth while both allies and adversaries were in a much worse position.
Now it looks like America is up to something similar. And there is a phenomenon that demonstrates that quite convincingly. We are talking today about the words that prepare for war, planting in minds the thoughts of the inevitability of conflict and naming in advance the culprits. These words are heard much more frequently since the arrival of the new administration in the United States. And in Europe, one hears their echo.
"Russia is a dangerous neighbor!" EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell said before the start of the NATO ministerial meeting in Brussels. By the way, recently in Moscow Borrell behaved decently, but now in Brussels he parroted everything in the presence of US Secretary of State Blinken.
And this is Anthony Blinken, the US Secretary of State, in Brussels. "We will take decisive action against Russian aggression, against actions that undermine our alliances," the politician said.
What Russian aggression is Blinken talking about? NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg deciphers the puzzle: "Despite years of pressure and efforts to engage Russia in constructive dialogue, Russia is reinforcing the pattern of its repressive behavior inside the country and its aggressive behavior outside its borders. NATO countries have pointed to Russia's misinformation and propaganda, its attempts to influence elections, cyberattacks, and use of chemical weapons against political opponents both inside and outside Russia."
Interestingly, this is all unsubstantiated, but it's repeated so often that we're supposed to get used to it. And then there's the U.S. President's National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan: "We believe that relations with Russia will face a difficult time. They will face serious challenges. They're going to demand that America defend its interests."
In psychology, there is the concept of "projection," when a person projects his fears, his desires, and his intentions from himself onto others, and thus actually attributes to another what he himself has in his heart. This is exactly the kind of projection that Putin compared to a childhood story in response to Biden's insults: As you call others, so you are yourself. The same is now true of Russia's "aggression" that we hear about so often and obsessively from the West. And in my opinion, Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, has correctly dissected the American rhetoric.
"My American colleague James Sullivan predicts difficult days ahead for the United States in its relations with Russia. This is not the first such statement by U.S. officials. We know this, but I want to emphasize that if they're predicting it, they're planning it. And if they plan it, they can implement it. But then they will be responsible for the actions that follow," Patrushev said.
And as a follow-up, U.S. Defense Secretary General Lloyd Austin on the Senate floor: "The primary objective of U.S. relations with the Russian Federation in the area of security should be to deter Russia from actions against the vital interests of the United States, including by protecting our allies from military aggression."
Again, Russian aggression. At the same time, America is preparing aggression. Right now there are two American missile cruisers hanging around in the Black Sea. What are they doing here? On the other side of the world as seen from them. And overall, the activity of the NATO Navy off our coasts has increased many times over in the last year. These data were given by the Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, and he added that "the number of U.S. strategic air force flights near the Russian state border has also increased." As for the reconnaissance aircraft, their visits to us have increased by a third in the last year. That is, the words that prepare for war are not just words.
China faces roughly the same problem. Verbal accusations against Beijing of repression and aggression are followed by an increased U.S. military presence near China's borders. In addition to virtually constant military exercises in the Yellow Sea, the Americans have permanently stationed the destroyer Rafael Peralta in Japan, and in March it was reported that U.S. missiles would be stationed on the islands of the East China Sea and South China Sea, in case of "potential Chinese aggression," of course. The missiles mean new U.S. missile bases on the islands. The document about it has already been sent to Congress for approval. The requested budget for the project is $27.4 billion. Not bad.
All this together means that Russia and China should move closer together and not just stand back to back, but cooperate more actively and form a global construct for peace.
Listen to what the commander of U.S. forces in Europe and commander-in-chief of NATO forces in Europe, General Tod Walters, says: "Russia is committing malicious acts designed to destabilize the entire world, many of those actions are being committed in Europe. Russia continues to pose a threat to the very existence of the United States and our European allies."
And this after NATO expansion eastward to our borders under conditions where the defense budget of "aggressive" Russia is one-seventeenth that of America! And the military budget of the NATO countries together, so ostentatiously trembling before Russia, is more than a trillion dollars a year, 23 times more than ours! Is the level of corruption there that unimaginable, or is it an unimaginable level of paranoia? Most likely, there is preparation for war in these incredible figures of military budgets of our potential friends.
Are the NATO countries going to fight Russia? Directly? No. Their states and their civil societies are not in the necessary condition for it. All of them are flabby and helpless. Covid has confirmed that. With this clear threat, with human casualties in NATO countries already well over a million, the NATO mechanism has been shown to be meaningless. Yet this was a test of its ability to protect its peoples. But instead of protection and solidarity, we have seen mutual theft of masks, humiliating bickering over vaccines, and stoking anti-Russian fears even against Sputnik-V.
But America must contain Russia - with war if necessary. So far, everything - including promises of support - looks like sending Ukraine to slaughter - against the Donbass. The blame for the war will be placed on Russia, and they are already talking in advance about "holding Russia accountable for the aggression" and so on. And then come new sanctions and so on. This is the plan in America now. Ukraine in the plan is just consumables for ignition.

Another article (first parts) from Russia Today:
Kremlin says situation in Donbass ‘frightening’ as Ukraine calls on NATO & Washington for support in event of conflict with Russia
Moscow has warned that fighting is escalating in eastern Ukraine, insisting that the region must avoid a full-scale conflict, as Kiev asks NATO to step up its local combat readiness and says the US would come to its aid in a war.
Speaking to journalists on Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that a series of military clashes in the Donbass region was a cause for concern. “Unfortunately for us,” he said, “the reality on the line of contact is quite frightening, and not just one, but many, provocations by the Ukrainian Armed Forces are taking place.”
Kiev insists that Russia is building up troops near the shared border and blames separatists, who have previously received support from Moscow, for breaking a ceasefire. “Russia’s current escalation is systemic, [the] largest in recent years,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitry Kuleba said in a statement issued earlier this week. Kiev officials last week said that four of its soldiers had been killed by shelling during clashes with rebels in the east of the country. (...)

Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
This is a dangerous flashpoint, note your diary. On 1 May there is a NATO meeting in Brussels. The United States wants the Ukraine and Georgia to apply for membership of NATO. Russia has warned that if either does so it will mean war. It might be touch and go.
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
The US can rattle its sabres to its heart's content, but Europeans are well aware that war would spell disaster for them without their fuel imports on which they are so dependent:
"Russia is the main EU supplier of crude oil, natural gas and solid fossil fuels
The stability of the EU’s energy supply may be threatened if a high proportion of imports are concentrated among relatively few external partners. In 2018, almost two thirds of the extra-EU's crude oil imports came from Russia (30 %), Iraq (9 %) and Saudi Arabia, Norway, Kazakhstan and Nigeria (7 % each). A similar analysis shows that almost three quarters of the EU's imports of natural gas came from Russia (40 %), Norway (18 %) and Algeria (11 %), while almost three quarters of solid fuel (mostly coal) imports originated from Russia (42 %), the United States (18 %) and Colombia (13 %)."

...and it should be his last, if indeed he is the president, which I doubt. When the ****s hits the fan and the
air clears we will see clearly what is what. Wait and see!!!
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
War should be banned, period. To fight and die for somebody else's disagreements is beyond stupid.
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
All the quantities of gas that our country imports - regardless of the names of the companies and the nationality of those who sell them to us - are of Russian origin. In addition, imported gas in this year was about 45% more expensive today.
In these conditions, the question is: why did Romania end up importing expensive resources from the Russians, given that it has the fourth largest natural gas reserve in Europe, being surpassed only by Great Britain, Norway and the Netherlands? it will not be a European war anyway.
"A hybrid war inventoried by asymmetric elements of influence: energy, economic, humanitarian, ecological, religious, ethnic and cultural. The mixed implementation of hybrid measures was also facilitated by certain specific conditions in Ukraine: the strong pro-Russian attitude of the Donbass population , volatile borders, endemic corruption, Russia's penetration of the country's defense, security and intelligence structures.
Russian hybrid warfare is based on the model of a real military campaign, where the propaganda is "the military aviation", troll factories are "diversionary detachments", hackers are "the rocket forces", Russian speakers are "The Fifth Column", NGOs and GONGOs are "the recruitment centers" and private armed units are "military wing".
Ukraine remains a case study for Russian hybrid warfare and despite the number of projects set up to counter Russian propaganda and disinformation campaigns, the overall impact is considered to be high. "

The Russian cold (one last cold kiss) is an irony of fate ,your feet can become cast in "concrete" , saliva and nostrils freeze, blood thickens, lips stick and the mind becomes heavy, "Vaseline" in the rifle freezes, and maybe, despite any equipment, first time the military will have to fight the cold, it's not a summer vacation with open puppet theater operations:).
Many are bored with "my brand is a crisis", a diplomatic curse of control without any historical aspiration or innovative vision outside of interests, and whoever enlists participates in a rather abominable form of stupidity with considerable losses as they were always.
Putin can still tolerate an "independent" Ukraine as long as it is "friendly" to Russia's national interests and, like any despot, trusts only his definition of this friendship. Putin is a great strategist...what are Biden's chances of a confrontation with Putin? Maybe Putin reminds him how many countries he destabilized, along with Obama, during his 8 years in office, with "their Arab springs", throwing them into chaos: Tunis, Libya, Egypt, Syria, Yemen… Plus they have put his tail in the coup attempt in Turkey.Or not. Only politics and lives lost in vain...
Whether we like it or not, Russia is the dominant power in Eastern Europe (Romania with experience under Russian domination and with a Romanian territory taken, knows through heavy sacrifices what it means); NATO camps can only carry out their "charm" and some small interventions, otherwise a lot of propaganda and a psychological war in less known contexts of perpetuation this time, however it is too complicated to be called, perhaps, war, and there will be no realistic solution to the current crisis unless Russia and Ukraine find a modus vivendi.
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
I read today that Putin is amassing troops in the Artic. Since the US borders no longer exist he will have no problem invading. (I guess that will fix the southern invader problem). Can anyone say Red Dawn!
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
I don't know, I bet there is a lot of stuff up there that we don't know about.
Boston Robotics probably has some giant mechanical polar bears and stuff. ;)

I don't think Putin's a stupid man, and invading the US would be a blunder of Biblical proportions.
The following makes much more sense, as well as further securing his northern flank:
Quote:
Moscow has prioritised beefing up its military presence in the Arctic region, which is believed to hold up to a quarter of the Earth's undiscovered oil and gas.
Mr Putin has in the past cited estimates that put the value of Arctic mineral riches at £22trillion.
Russia, the US, Canada, Denmark and Norway have all been trying to assert jurisdiction over parts of the Arctic, as shrinking polar ice opens new opportunities for tapping resources and opening new shipping lanes.

I never understood the Red Dawn scenario. Even on many alternative sites (e.g. Natural News) I often read how especially China (not Russia that much) will 'invade' the US. Nobody will invade the US. The US is the leading nuclear power and can blow any nation to smitherenes in minutes. Yes it can be done to them by Russia or China too (at least 100 times while NATO/US can do it to them even a 1000 times over). So I really don't get this stuff whenever it comes up.
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
I keep imagining trucks and tanks etc coming from the artic moving south through northern Canada and then they are all stuck in the mud...or as the locals call it ...moose mush. :)

Russia alone has as many "official" bombs as all the NATO countries added together, currently Russia is the country with more nuclear bombs, and the ICBM missiles are more advanced and unnstopable by any defence system the US currenly has. Not sure where you got your numbers
And thats not even counting the around 3000 bombs Russia reclaimed from Ukrania in the 90's that were supposedly "destroyed"
The US is not the leading nuclear power, that's why they are in a hurry to develop new technologies, they are using tech from the 60's still, and their ICBMs are very old tech, not up to date for the current world standards
No one would invade the US, just as no one would invade Russia, there are battles that can't be won. Dead people don't win battles, and everyone would be dead
Also NATO has made lots of research into war with Russia and every simulation result always puts them on the losing end. They words not mine
https://www.businessinsider.com/the-...r-games-2019-3
The US doesn't have any possible way to stop modern Russian nuclear missiles, their defence systems were created for 60s and 70s tech and just updated over time, but are not modern at all (can't track modern missiles moving at hypersonic speeds, or hypersonic missiles that are not entering from earth orbit, for example)
Anyway that's just not going to happen, at least for now
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
There is no point to using nuclear weapons in a massive strike, or even a single one. One would bring them all and then all would be for naught.
The world is connected now is such a way that to destroy a part is to destroy itself. That is why the fight now is social and psychological. An attempt to take control of a place where everything is still operational, but the winner is the one with the most influence.
A rebel force in a skirmish at the border of a large country like Russia is like bringing out the knight in chess - the first move. It's presence is a show of force - of what could happen. Russia might have initiated the skirmish just to show people that is has a powerful knight, and it could use him. Just showing that it is there might be more powerful than actually moving it forward into battle.
Psychological power.
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
I often felt if this power clash does play out, as mentioned above, there would be similarities to Red Dawn. It’s a film that constantly pops up into my head.
But there would be no need for a turf invasion, or bombs. An EMP knocking out power on a wide scale area would do the trick. I think this would be the attack (or red flag more like)
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
- Russia may INVADE Ukraine in 2022. Here’s what could happen next.
U.S. intelligence recently warned that 175,000 Russian troops may be involved in an invasion of Ukraine as early as 2022…which is less than two months away. Putin has wanted to annex his neighbor state for years, and now Biden’s botched handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal may have given him all the reasons necessary to forge ahead, BlazeTV researcher and writer Jason Buttrill tells Glenn. But, if an invasion happens, will the US get involved? And if so, in what capacity? Glenn and Jason discuss possible outcomes, and they describe how some of Biden's moves over the past year may have paved the way for such an event to occur…

Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
If I were Putin, I would converse with China and arrange to begin the Ukraine invasion when China invades Taiwan.
The US would have to pick it's poison, no way the US could tackle both those fronts with a jabbed army/navy.
The Pentagon seems to be actively destroying the military with gender concerns and critical race theory. The USA should not think their military is something of pride right now.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. Not that I want any of this to happen but strategically, that is the move to make. And if, God forbid, they put out a joint statement as they invade (simply a statement signed off by them both), it would make the west reconsider any response because of the potential escalation.

I hadn't read your post — and just now I was going to suggest exactly the same thing.
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
The U.S. won one single time since WWII; the 1991 invasion of Kuwait by Iraq [somewhere around 1oo days of action, fiercely swift].
The U.S., the military and it's intelligence are not winners, no dominating records of success. Countless failures and expensive failures to boot. Yet many nations will still request assistance from the americans. South Korea cried for help a few years ago and an american carrier group got on the scene sort of slower than they wanted and anticipated. The demands on america are for real, but the substance of the american war-fighter is lacking; and I mean in a senior war-fighting mentality.
Technology is not the only facet of a winning war-fighting machine. They say if you can fight in the jungle, you can fight anywhere. Well the U.S. lost bigtime in the jungles of Vietnam.
I think the americans are more beholden to Taiwan than to Ukraine. It would be wise for the U.S. to stay out of it much like the beginning of WWI and WWII when the americans got involved nearly two years into both conflicts. But they won't. They don't learn. Russia wasted 1o years in Afghanistan decades before america repeated history, wasting another over 1o years in that country.
America is not comprised of winners. [You sound like you are sore about america.] Because I am.
I watched a time elapsed video of the Chinese building an entire hospital in 1o days. In america, it can take 3 months to build a custom house. China does not mess around. They have the labour pool to get a lot done and quickly.
I don't know much about Russia but I get the feeling they are greedy as all h!ll. They own some extensive and rich territory as it is.
I think america will be losing in this scenario no matter how it plays out. Europe will certainly be at a loss. These will be trying times for millions of people and the modern aspects of warfare are scary indeed.
Re: WW3? Ukraine/US vs. Donbass/Russia
MSM reports an estimated 100,000 Russian troops sit on the borders of Ukraine.
Moscow has denied any plans to attack or invade Ukraine.
Today 90 tonnes of US "lethal aid" has arrived in Ukraine, It's the first shipment of a recently approved package of US military aid for Ukraine, and included ammunition for "front-line defenders".
US embassy in Ukraine have ‘requests staff evacuation’ amid war fears.
Is this just a continuation of the ongoing usual bluster and rhetoric?
Or should we all be on war alert?
