Yes! This would need a very large set of hands. It looks like it must weigh a lot.

Very exciting, and certainly seems to be very real. Ecuador holds all kinds of secrets. The area these structures are in is notoriously impenetrable.
Anything at all could be in there, and you'd never know without luck, good detective work, and specialized equipment -- ideally all three. I look forward to hearing more.
My thanks for Bruce for sharing this with us as soon as he could. The video was published today, and Avalonians here are among the very first to learn about this.

WoW great find Gratz.
What you have shown so far has great inner strength feel to it!
I won't to run my palms over those stones and lay spread eagle on my back looking skywards :)

Are you around that way Bill? Perhaps you can hook up with an exploration team and interview them as they uncover the mystery. Wow, you certainly are in for some interesting news in Equador.
Can't wait until they do a little more uncovering. Looks like the jungle root system may be simple enough to cut away, and there may be a few exotic plants still left behind underneath.

Well, it's not a million miles away! But Bruce in his video commentary was correct when he described the terrain as extremely hostile and dangerous. This is some of the most impenetrable forest in all of South America -- and that's saying quite something.
But then, the good news is that the site is just three hours trek from the edge of the forest. Comparatively, that makes it much easier to get to. Some sites (like those mentioned in the legends of the lost Inca gold, which are in the same general area), take weeks to get to, if you can find them at all! I personally met one elderly man -- a most amazing character -- who's been on 59 expeditions in 50 years (and is now 89 years old, and hasn't given up yet).
A few weeks ago I was privileged to meet and talk at length with Bruce and his wife Daniella (who did the video interview with him), and they mentioned this find amongst much else. I'm delighted that they've become involved and have been given the okay to publicize the discovery.

If you look closely there are finger placing depressions on one side and a thumb groove on opposite edge.

Re: Pyramid, maybe built by giants, found in the Ecuador jungle - Video and Articles
I am glad to be able to share this material here with everybody, it is actually 18 months ago that I heard about this place but it has taken time to get to a point where someone that had been there was willing to gladly share their photographs with me for public distribution. When we visited Bill we were not then in the same position as now, we simply knew one person that had been there and had images. Now we are aware of several people that have been there and three have spoken directly with us, two of which have agreed to share images and information without restriction. That said we are being mindful that the site needs protection before it become geographically known to everybody. My worry would be a large number of people thinking it might be an Inca gold city and thus create an adventurer gold rush. I am highly sceptical that this is an Inca city let alone one full of gold, nor has it been unknown to local people and as such one has no idea if it has been robbed in the past. The crazy thing is that this site has been known of for months and yet nothing has been done by the government or any related media. Actually even now I have not had any mainstream media showing interest, a bit surprising for such a find.
I will add that the place gives us a bad vibe and is in, as Bill rightly confirms, one of the most dangerous jungle areas on Earth. It is not up some side-street, I am not excited by going there but probably will at some point if I get the right kit and team.

Re: Pyramid, maybe built by giants, found in the Ecuador jungle - Video and Articles
How exciting , can't wait for any release of further findings about this lost city ... I notice entire stone cites found with years of weathering and mass amounts of water damage , goes to prove the story that at least once in earth's history the whole planet was flooded , the kings of these cultures all around the globe could have known about the coming events and retreated into their caves hence usually finding bones and gold plates and such in the caves/underground ... This city could be a major find in earth history , I mean you never really know ... I would love to hike in there , indiana jones style ... awesome ...

Hi Bruce, what a privilege to hear about these findings first-hand.
My interest was sparked by the seemingly giant-skeleton in your video - is that something you can tel more about?

Re: Pyramid, maybe built by giants, found in the Ecuador jungle - Video and Articles
The giant skeleton was found down nearer to Bill than here, in a place called Loja. The bones were from a 7.5 metre human being of some kind. The skeleton in the picture is a model of what it would look like if all the bones were located, this was created for the Mystery Park owned by Eric Von Daniken. The small number of bones located were examined by Klaus Dona and found to be genuine after testing and medical examination.

Re: Pyramid, maybe built by giants, found in the Ecuador jungle - Video and Articles
ghostrider,
I am meeting someone at the end of the coming week, he has offered more images and can arrange a trek, at the moment I am trying to put off going there. A few people have made serious enquiries to me about going to the site and my gut is to form an expedition with at least half a dozen people, if something happens to one of the party you want enough people to make carrying an injured man through jungle actually possible. I am not keen on going as one or two of us with the guide, if things went wrong that is just too small a number. If anyone here is serious about going along do feel free to mail me and have a chat bruce@2012rising.com I am not sure yet as to when such a trek might be and how many folks to take. A couple of known researchers have already asked to go along at some point.

Re: Pyramid, maybe built by giants, found in the Ecuador jungle - Video and Articles
Thanks Bruce - I watched the video with you talking followed by the footage of the pyramid - you have admirable sang froid in the face of such an awesome discovery, especially if as you say the place has a bad vibe. It's also pretty amazing that there are so many artifacts such as the giant hammer head (or whatever it is) that seem to be just lying around near the site. Feels very exciting to have a front row seat courtesy of Project Avalon! Keep us posted!
-
Re: Pyramid, maybe built by giants, found in the Ecuador jungle - Video and Articles
I think that hammer thingy is a giant Wii Controller:rolleyes:
Seriously though not a hammer more like a giant Pounder IE held as shown but used in a vertical downward action, the wide base being to cruising face with the top hammer looking head as a weight?
A hammer of that size made from stone would surely break considering the force involved by anyone/thing capable of wielding it!
But still a Giant-Something for sure!

Re: Pyramid, maybe built by giants, found in the Ecuador jungle - Video and Articles
Hi Bruce. Well done to you and your wife my friend for bringing this discovery into the light. Am i correct in thinking this is not a stepped pyramid ?
Have you taken small samples of the stone to see if it is a composite or natural stone yet.
Sam Osmanagich of the Bosnian pyramid may be worth approaching as far as what to do and what not to do in the next phase of the journey. Funding ect. There are some here on Avalon who have traveled there as volunteer's to assist in the excavation process.
A long rocky :p journey ahead for you all. I wish you all the success you require to bring this to the forefront.
regards

Awesome Bruce! Seems like Mercury retrograde in Scorpio is digging up more and more from hidden areas both physically and politically. Interesting sync with the updating of the Bosnian pyramids by Wind.

Do not be irresponsible disclosing incorrect information.
It is a natural wall and point, as I told you via Facebook, but you keep spreading the falsehood that is doing great harm to Baños. [...] Are you going to go to the media when the technical report on the wall is out? No idea you know the damage you've done to Baños, along with other charlatans.

I have the technical report in my hands, that belies all the bull**** you've raised, Manuel Vieira. You have until tomorrow, February 4 at 14h00, to give publicly all that you have generated farce.
Here's the report from The Llangantes, can be read in the following link.

The technical report is 26 pages long, here is an excerpt:

Hi buares!
Again, a big thanks for getting those data!
The following, to me, does indicate a natural -- if exceptional -- formation and its weathering of joints:

To whom it may concern..... I was in this place of the pyramids, and I will say that Manuel Vieira is absolutely right: the walls are made by man. Soon I'll upload some videos taken .. we even found another wall of the same size that is more perfect, and has two levels of incredible stones ....... The technical reports must be reviewed, human beings have a natural tendency to make mistakes and that is natural and understandable but definitely wrong ......... Technicians analyzed the wall near the small waterfall .... but there is another a few meters away

Thanks for posting this review. I agree with you that the report should be rethought. It is incomplete by not incorporating valuable information such as stone tools and carved rocks found near the wall. This new evidence is important to be shared. Yesterday, March 23, 2014, Ernesto Sarabia approached me to tell me that he knows of the nearby existence of a totem. I make the call that further research is necessary.

Re: Pyramid, maybe built by giants, found in the Ecuador jungle - Video and Articles
Interesting. Below is a post by botanist Lou Jost from The EcoMinga Foundation who visited the site:
Archaeology or Geology? Posted on January 13, 2014:
The site had actually been known to a few people since at least 1997. In that year my friend Olivier Currat, co-owner of the Luna Runtun Hotel in Banos, visited and photographed the site with a local guide. In about 2003 he showed me the photographs. They looked amazing! Olivier and I tried to re-find the site (the original guide had emigrated to Spain) but we could not. [...] I also sent the photos to my geologist friend Mark Thurber, and asked his opinion about it. Thurber told me that though he could not be sure from the pictures, it seemed like a natural rock formation to him. With that, I put it out of my mind.
https://ecomingafoundation.files.wor...01/dsc0064.jpg
(The upper third of the mysterious wall, looking to the left.)
Then a few months ago came all these new stories about the site. Finally last week I was able to visit it, guided by Manuel Barriga. Our group included government archaeologists and geologists, sent by the President of Ecuador to determine the nature of the site. To be honest, I was not sure what to think about what I saw. It does not look like closely-fitting Inca stonework. It is an odd-looking canyon wall, not in any sense a “pyramid” as some of the news reports have called it.
https://ecomingafoundation.files.wor...01/dsc0072.jpg
(The wall, looking to the right.)
Similar rectangularly-fractured rocks are found on the opposite side of the canyon, and in the nearby river. Particularly informative for me was the little set of fractured rocks in the following photo. This was below the wall, near a streambed. The fractures create the same sort of pattern seen on a larger scale in the wall, but here we can see that it is a single rock on the right, splitting into fragments on the left. This implies the formation is natural in spite of appearances. The two government geologists also were sure that the site was natural.
https://ecomingafoundation.files.wor...01/dsc0055.jpg
(A miniature example of rectangular fractures in the same shapes as those found on the wall. Note the rock appears to be a single body at lower right, and has successively deeper, more rounded rectangular fractures towards the upper left.)
To my untrained eye, the rocks in the upper third of the structure do seem too regular to be natural, but I am not a geologist. There do seem to be purposely-carved handholds and footholds on the wall (already noticed by Olivier Currat in his 1997 trip). There are also many Inca and pre-Inca artifacts in the immediate area, including finely made stone axe heads, and ceramic pottery. There is even what appears to be a stone Inca road, recently uncovered by my friends Robert and Daisy Kunstaetter about 2 km from the site.
https://ecomingafoundation.files.wor...01/dsc0067.jpg
(The wall, looking down and to the right.)
So is it man-made? Perhaps this is not an either-or question. Even if it were completely natural, I would think the Incas would be as impressed with it, and as puzzled by it, as we are today. I can easily imagine they might treat it as a sacred site, or even a tourist attraction, perhaps thinking it was made by their ancestors, or by their gods. They might have carved handholds in it. I did not look closely enough at these to make any judgement about them.
https://ecomingafoundation.files.wor...01/dsc0073.jpg
(EcoMinga’s Juan Pablo Reyes examines a cross-section of the wall. The stones are very thick.)
We had very little time to spend at the site, as the rivers we had to cross were rapidly rising due to rain. I’ll go back soon for a more careful look, and I look forward to hearing the official report from the government scientists.
Note added Jan 15: I have heard second-hand that the government archaeologists who also visited the site with us agree with the geologists that it is a natural rock formation.

It very well could be natural bearing in mind the structure of the 'Giants Causeway' in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. These huge hexagonal columns are simply awesome, made from basalt, assumed to be from a volcanic erruption.
Some info here........

It does not look like closely-fitting Inca stonework.
That last sentence jumped out at me. It could date back much older than the Inca civilization (which is really quite new, having its origins in the 13th century).
It might be natural, of course. But two obvious checks could be made...
- Ask the local shamans. They'll know.
- Try to excavate one of the 'stones'. That'd reveal everything.
