    It doesn't mean they were wrong either. It just means that the end of a cycle doesn't have to be cataclysmic. It's more than obvious by now that we aren't in that long prophesied by many past...

    Mayans have the world destroyed and begin again four times already. It's obvious is a metaphor. That's why I said interpretations. Or misses thereof.

    Except that the Mayans themselves never predicted anything.
    There's a lot of people (mis?)interpreting the calendar, an entire literature about it, but there's no actual account of any Mayan myth...
