Sticky: Re: Here and Now...What's Happening?

I wasn't sure if this should go in the Donbass thread so I'll put it here

  2. Re: Death toll in Texas elementary school shooting rises; 18 children, 2 adults killed by shooter

Well, in all fairness, firing a rifle is about as easy as driving a car. I don't know any stats of rifles in households in the US but it's got to be a big chunk and you can buy body armor on Amazon.

Sticky: Re: Here and Now...What's Happening?

I think reading is the poor man's meditation. It's really great. I've taken a break from reading about how my country has been a snake in the grass for nearly a century as well as symbolism and all...
  4. Re: "I'm desperate for my alien boyfriend to propose..."

A lot of mainstream people have interviewed him. And they will always end the interview asking him about reptillians. As long as they can end the interview with the idea that Queen Elizabeth shape...

    How do we combat this?

I don't get why this became a 'thing' with my generation. Guns have been around for a long time but only recently have school shootings become a problem.

Sticky: Re: Here and Now...What's Happening?

I was at the doctors office today and I made a joke about getting older and injuries are popping up whereas when I was younger injuries weren't as much a problem. But I'm not complaining.

    I think...

Re: Modern Society and Cult Parallels

Here--at least when I was a scrub--they definitely gave you the Flag Cult. We used the Pledge of Allegiance which was designed in the 1930s by a guy who was a known Socialist. They edited the part...

    The Putin Thread

I thought it would be best to put this in a new thread rather than the Donbass thread because the topic is a bit different and it would be buried quickly in that thread. The idea for this thread is...

I think is a great interview, very fair and critical of both sides.

I think this should be added to the Avalon library, with your permission of course.
  15. Re: Russophobia: why do so many people in the west hate and fear Russia?

It's kind of boggling to hear this. Nobody speaks of Russians unless they're regurgitating the news and those people are in the minority. People have been hating on the US (and my people and culture,...
  16. Re: Where does one go after death? The Buddhist view from GDD-777, Master Sheng-Yen

I think I agree with your line of thinking.

IMO it's too early to factually claim that anyone knows what happens after death. Ask 10 people and get 10 different answers. Who is right and who is...

Re: Describe "Freedom" in no more than 3 sentences

The question can be translated in differently I think, I don't know I'm tired.

The boring answer is that it is like a tiered system. At one level you are someone living essentially by yourself and...
  19. Re: Presidents John Magufuli and Pierre Nkurunziza both dead. Covid murder?

Yes, the existence of the CIA's heart attack gun was revealed in 1975 during the United States Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities, better...

Annoying for sure but I think it can be healthy to have friends that wont allow you to take yourself too seriously.
