Mariya Zakharova schools West in correct way to deal with Skripal assassination attempt [VIDEO]

Maria Zakharova speaking about the British behavior towards the Russian Federation in relation to the assassination attempt on Sergey and Yulia Skripal in Salisbury, Great Britain

However, it is unlikely her very reasoned process will fall on receptive ears as the West accuses Russia for the use of Novichok and yet refuses to listen

Maria Zakharova is a powerhouse for the Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry. She is the go-to for all matters concerning sanctions against Russia, other accusations and slanderous attacks against Russia and less virulent affairs as well.

Here on video with English subtitles, she clearly, carefully and SANELY lays out the process and rationale for how to solve the matter of the alleged Novichok-utilizing assassination attempt on ex-spy Sergey Skripal and his daughter Yulia.

Unfortunately, it is likely not to be considered, as the Western nations continue to ramp up very bellicose rhetoric against Russia.

It would make sense if Russia actually did something, but there simply is no logic to the argument that President Vladimir Putin would order an assassination to be carried out right before the Russian Presidential elections which are to be held this Sunday, March 18th.

While people who live in the West might try to go on the idea that Putin is "showing his strength" to either inspire or cow the Russian people into voting for him, this is simply not true. Since I live in Russia and interact with people here every day, I have talked to them often enough about politics and they are very free with expressing their opinions. There is no doubt here that Putin will win, but even some of the most cynical of Russian people who say this also admit that the problem is not Putin's bullying or coerciveness, because this is nonexistent. What is the case is that no other presidential candidate has shown any significant ability that would lead the nation in any more effective a manner than what President Putin has done.

So, even those people who do not believe his personal integrity (and there are quite a number of them that freely say so) or his Christianity, which are some major selling points this election, still usually admit that he is effective as a leader, and solves problems that no one else yet has given a better idea how to solve.

Russians are, in my experience, very practical and pragmatic people. They are as emotional as anyone, but they do a pretty good job at not being hysterical and making blind accusations simply because of emotion. Not at these levels, anyway.

Craig Murray's Skripal analysis: On Not Being Refuted

    Craig Murray Craig Murray Blog
    Sat, 17 Mar 2018 15:51 UTC

Several million people have now read my articles on the lack of evidence of Russian government guilt for the Salisbury attack. That's over 300,000 unique visitors on this little blog alone so far, and it has been repeated on hundreds of sites all over the internet. My own tweets on the subject have been retweeted over 12,500 times and received 8 million impressions. I know that journalists from every mainstream media outlet you can mention have seen the material, because of numerous tweets from them none of which address any of the facts, but instead call me a "Conspiracy nutter" or variants of that, some very rude.

Yet what I wrote has not been refuted. It would be very easy to refute were it not true. The government would just have to say "Porton Down have stated that they have definitely identified the nerve agent as made in Russia". They have not said that. Most extraordinarily, not one mainstream media "journalist" has asked a minister the question: "You keep using this phrase the nerve agent is "of a type developed by Russia". Are you able to confirm it was actually made in Russia?" .

There is no excuse for this. Literally hundreds of mainstream media "journalists" have slavishly reproduced the propaganda phrase "of a type developed by Russia" without a single one of them every querying this rather odd wording, or why it is the government always uses that precise wording again and again and again.

It goes without saying that not a single mainstream media "journalist" has reported that fact either that until recently Porton Down believed that "novichoks" had probably never actually been synthesised successfully and that the OPCW has never banned them on the grounds that there was no evidence of their physical existence.

Finally I wish to repeat these important facts:
    • Israel is one of a handful of countries, including North Korea, not to ratify the Chemical Weapons Convention and commit to destroy its chemical weapons
    • Israel is not a member of the OPCW and refuses to declare its chemical weapon stocks to the OPCW.
These are also facts you will never, ever see reported in mainstream media and entirely predictably the corporate lickspittles of the mainstream media have been out in force on social media justifying their refusal to act on any of the information I have given on the grounds I am an "anti-semite". A more extreme example of using any criticism of Israel to allege anti-semitism is hard to conceive.

The contribution of Jewish people to human development in fields including science, literature, music, art and commerce has been simply magnificent and utterly disproportionate to their numbers. The genocidal policy of Israel towards the Palestinians these last seventy years, and its rogue state status as regard chemical and nuclear wmds is a completely different question, for which I in no way blame the generality of Jewish people. In fact my position on this is the opposite of a BDS position. I actually want Israel to join OPCW, be a full member and cooperate in the destruction of its chemical weapon stocks.

I think I might now have a vodka. Of a type developed by Russia. Made in Warrington.

Since there are many similarities with this Story and the fabricated Facts of Colin Powell i like to shed some more light on Mr. Powell.
It´s 60 years ago now that one of countless american warcrimes surfaced and guess who tried to brush it under the carpet back then? Mr Powell. I am speaking of the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam where more than 500 civilans where butchered and shot.

Here is Colin Powells part in Americas great history:

Powell arrived in Chu Lai in June, ten weeks after soldiers of the
Americal Division, under the command of Lieutenant William Calley,
massacred innocent Vietnamese civilians at the village of My Lai. Top-
ranking officers of the Americal Division engaged in massive cover-up,
and it was only due to the efforts of an idealistic young soldier, Ron
Ridenhour, who described the massacre in a letter to this congressman,
that the lid was blown off the story. But Ridenhour's letter was not
the first effort to foil the coverup. Specialist Fourth Class Tom Glen
served in the 11th Light Infantry Brigade, called the "Butcher
Brigade", the same outfit as Lt Calley. Glen has heard rumors of a
massacre, and he wrote a letter to General Creighton Abrams, supreme
commander of US forces in Vietnam.
In early December of '68, Glen's letter came to the attention of
Powell, at Division headquarters in Chu Lai. He was ordered to check
into the allegations and prepare a response.
Powell did not investigate the allegations. Instead, he went to Glen's
commander -- hardly a likely source of truth, considering the nature of
the allegations. In his report to this superior, Powell denied that
anything other than some "isolated incidents" had occurred, and claimed
that all such abuses were punished. "In direct refutation of [Glen's]
portrayal is the fact that the relations between American soldiers and
Vietnamese people are excellent.," wrote Powell.

    dead man and son

Two Vietnamese children on a road before they were shot by U.S. soldiers on March 16, 1968.

So thank you America and England for all the Wars and conflicts you provoked and all the innocent people you have killed worldwide.

SOTT Behind the Headlines weekly news discussion focuses on the Skripal case this week:

Quote Behind the Headlines: Doing Putin's 'Dirty Work': Barmy British Incite War With Russia

The strange case of Sergei Skripal began two weeks ago when this former Russian intelligence officer, along with his 33-year-old daughter Yulia, were found unconscious on a public bench in Salisbury, southern England. Fortuitously for them, the people who first found them were a passing doctor and nurse. Their current location is unknown, although British authorities report that they are alive and in a 'stable condition'.

An international scandal has erupted in the meantime, with the British government accusing its Russian counterpart of conducting a chemical weapon attack on its soil. Emergency UN Security Council meetings, more anti-Russia sanctions and other punitive measures have been undertaken by the British government, with varying degrees of support from fellow NATO member-states.

The political climate of anti-Russia hysteria, which was already tense, continues its parabolic curve towards... well, towards what? War? Anyone would be forgiven for thinking so, but with the Russian presidential election taking place today, and the football World Cup coming up in Russia this summer, the more likely impetus for these shrill histrionics stem from a powerful impetus to 'de-legitimize' Putin's government and isolate Russia internationally.

    Another good one:
The Maidan sniperkillings in Kiew 2014.

Indications and witnesses pointing to a western sniper operation are largely ignored in the western media coverage.

    What happened:

The sniper murders at the Kiev Maidan protests in early 2014 were a global political "game changer". They enabled the swift transfer of power to a pro-Western government, which in turn triggered the Ukraine crisis, including the Russian Crimea and a new Cold War between Washington and Moscow. Since then, there has again been talk of an "east flank" of NATO, just as if a major war with Russia was in the realm of the thinkable.
The common view of the conflict is based on the assumption that a self-determined revolution had taken place in Ukraine during which the citizens had successfully overthrown an overriding, violent ruler. In essence, this view is based on the thesis that snipers who massacred more than 50 people on the morning of 20 February 2014 somehow connected with this ruler (Yanukovich), if not with Moscow (Putin).

    "Inappropriate" confessions
Only at the end of 2017 on Italian television several Georgians with the confession of their participation in the sniper murders went public and claimed, incited to the murders by a Ukrainian opposition politician, and specifically have been commanded on the ground by an American - ex-sniper of a US elite unit.

Supervised by an American: Who is killing civilians on foreign soil?
French, German, British and American Media won´t report on that.

Koba Nergadze, Kvarateskelia Zalogy, and Alexander Revazishvilli have confessed to have been part of the sniperoperation.

More on the Skripal story from Moon of Alabama. In my opinion the series of articles on this blog about the Skripal case are excellent, thorough reporting. Links to the other articles are towards the end.

I’ve included the whole article as it is a good summary.

Quote "No Patients Have Experienced Symptoms Of Nerve Agent Poisoning In Salisbury"
    March 19, 2018

There have been some interesting developments in the alleged poisoning case of the British-Russian double-agent Sergej Skripal and his daughter Yulia.

The British governments standing on the issue is getting worse as more inconsistencies and doubts on its statements come to light. The international support for its claims is weakening.

On March 4 the Skripals collapsed on a public bench in Salisbury in England after they had visited a pub and a restaurant. They were brought to the local hospital. A local policemen was probably also affected. (See our previous posts, liked at the end, for many additional details.) A week later, on March 12, the British government said that a nerve agent was the cause of the incident and accused Russia of being responsible for the act:
Mr Skripal and his daughter were poisoned with Novichok—a military-grade nerve agent developed by Russia. Based on this capability, combined with Russia’s record of conducting state-sponsored assassinations—including against former intelligence officers whom it regards as legitimate targets—the UK Government concluded it was highly likely that Russia was responsible for this reckless and despicable act.
Novichok is not a nerve agent but supposedly a group of chemical substances investigated in the Soviet Union for their nerve agent potential. Only recently have some of these substances been synthesized.

Former ambassador Craig Murray reported that the formulation "... a military-grade nerve agent, of a type developed by Russia, ..." was a compromise negotiated between the British government and its chemical weapon specialists in its Porton Down laboratory. Note that the statement does not implicate at all that Russia is involved in the current case.

The British government demanded a Russian response within 24 hours without presenting any evidence of Russian involvement. Russia rightly pointed out that such a demand is in breach of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) procedures as supervised by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and rejected it.

The U.S, Britain, France and Germany issued a common supporting statement which repeated the British formulation:
This use of a military-grade nerve agent, of a type developed by Russia, constitutes the first offensive use of a nerve agent in Europe since the Second World War.
    ...
We share the United Kingdom’s assessment that there is no plausible alternative explanation, and note that Russia’s failure to address the legitimate request by the government of the United Kingdom further underlines Russia’s responsibility. We call on Russia to address all questions related to the attack in Salisbury.
Since then many questions and doubts about the British government's Noviochok drama have been raised. Bit by bit the case is falling apart.

Consider for example this picture which shows Mr. Skripal and his daughter Yulia presumably in the pub or the restaurant they visited before they collapsed. Who is the third person, visible in the mirror between them, who took the picture?

Via Maxim A. Suchkov and Дмитрий Стешин - bigger

Is this third person the MI6 agent Pablo Miller who in 1995 recruited Skripal as British double agent. Miller who was also involved in handling the MI6 assets Boris Berezovski and Alexander Litvinenko. Pablo Miller who lives close to Sergej Skripal in Salisbury and is considered to be his friend? The same Pablo Miller who worked with former MI6 agent Christopher Steele's Orbis Business Intelligence which created the 'dirty dossier' about Donald Trump? How deep were the Skripals involved in making up the fake stories in the anti-Trump dossier for which the Clinton campaign paid more than $168,000 dollars. Did the Skripals threaten to talk about the issue? Is that why the incident happened?

So far no information about the third person which took the above picture has come to light.

On March 16 the British government was still pleased with the success of the drama it constructed from a movie script (video) around the Skripal incident.

The headline and intro of the BBC story are telling: Russian spy: UK government response going to plan so far
Among senior ministers and officials, there's quiet satisfaction that the Russia crisis seems to be going according to plan. Maybe even better.

According to one senior government source, "it's gone at least as well as we'd hoped".
    That may end soon.

The London Times reported on March 14th that 40 people in Salisbury needed treatment because of poisoning. A reader's letter to the paper written by "Steven Davies - Consultant in emergency medicine, Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust" disputes that report. (The NHS database lists Davies, GMC membership number 4122151, as specialist in accident and emergency services at the Salisbury District Hospital.) The letter seems to say that none of the hospital's patients were effected by "nerve agents" at all:
Sir, Further to your report "Poison exposure leaves almost 40 needing treatment", Mar 14), may I clarify that no patients have experienced symptoms of nerve agent poisoning in Salisbury and there have only been ever been three patients with significant poisoning.

    bigger

The wording of the letter is not 100% clear. Does the "no patients" refer to only the 40 the Times mentioned or to all patents including the Skripals? Are the three patients with "significant poisoning" the Skripals and the affected policeman? Commentator Noirette had suggested here that the Skripal case was about food poisoning or a food allergy, not nerve agents. The Skripals had visited a fish restaurant one hour before they were found. The letter points into a similar direction. Food poisoning would also explain why a doctor who gave emergency help to the unconscious Yulia Skripal for over 30 minutes was not effected at all.

I have yet to see a follow up on the letter by any media. Why is there no interview with the doctor? All medical personal involved are astonishingly silent. Since day one there has been no medical update on the health status of the Skripals. Has the government issued a gag order in from of a DA-Notice which prohibits reporting? Why? By writing the above letter Steven Davies, the Salisbury emergency consultant, probably circumvented it. (Several British media ignored a 2017 DA-notice prohibiting the reporting of Christopher Steele's name.)

The UK has since folded on its unilateral demand outside of the OPCW procedures. It has now, as Russia demanded, involved the OPCW and OPCW specialist are expected to visit the British chemical weapon laboratory in Porton Down, which is near Salisbury, to investigate the case.

But the British Foreign office also raised a new accusation against Russia:
The Foreign Secretary revealed this morning that we have information indicating that within the last decade, Russia has investigated ways of delivering nerve agents likely for assassination. And part of this programme has involved producing and stockpiling quantities of Novichok. This is a violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.
The Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson used a less hedged wording:
"We actually have evidence within the last 10 years that Russia has not only been investigating the delivery of nerve agents for the purposes of assassination, but has also been creating and stockpiling Novichok," Johnson told the BBC.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson - bigger

Craig Murray took the Johnson statement apart. If the UK really had or has such information why did it not, as the CWC demands, inform the OPCW of Russia's potential breach of its obligations? Why is this coming out only now?

The British allies seem to be unimpressed by Boris Johnson's show.

Today the German Foreign Minister tracked back from the common position issued last week:
Heiko Maas, the German foreign minister, has described Russia as a "difficult partner", but said the UK poisoning was a "bilateral" issue, indicating that Britain can count on little support from the EU.

Maas spoke ahead of a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday (19 March)
A common statement after the EU foreign ministers meeting did not blame Russia. It repeated the carefully negotiated wording of the original British accusation but did not endorse the British position:
The European Union takes extremely seriously the UK Government's assessment that it is highly likely that the Russian Federation is responsible.

The European Union is shocked at the offensive use of any military-grade nerve agent, of a type developed by Russia, for the first time on European soil in over 70 years.
    ...
The EU welcomes the commitment of the UK to work closely with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in supporting the investigation into the attack.
The statement is false in that nerve agents have actually been used on European soil over the last 70 years. During the Cold War Britain tested various types of chemical and biological weapons, including nerve agents, on its own population as well as in its colonies and in other countries. Why should we exclude an even more recent use?

The Skripal poisoning case stinks. The British government is obviously not telling the truth about it. It uses the script of a recent spy drama to allege a 'Novichok' attack to implicate Russia and to raise anti-Russian sentiment. Information about the case is evidently held back. The media is mostly complicit.

Foreign countries have noticed that the story stinks and are tracking back on their support.

The people and the British opposition should urgently demand more and better answer from May's failing government.

Default Re: Sergei Skripal: who was behind the Salisbury poisoning?

This story in the Morning Star (a publication I have not seen before) does some unmasking of some of the figures who might be pulling strings here:

Quote The media has not considered how Russophobia is benefitting big business
    Kenny CoyleMonday, March 19, 2018Sunday 18th Mar 2018

THE attack on Sergei and Yulia Skripal in Salisbury seems to take a new twist daily as empty speculation and disinformation saturate the major media outlets without even so much as a WMD “dodgy dossier” to go on.

... the British media has, for the most part, wallowed in guesswork, served up a steady stream of suspiciously contradictory non-attributable “leaks” and displayed a stubborn refusal to consider possible third-party beneficiaries of this growing tension between Britain and Russia.

Russian policies in Ukraine and Crimea, as well as its stance in defence of Syria, have not made it many friends in the West, nor in Riyadh, Ankara, Tel Aviv or Kiev.

    ...

Lately another group has emerged, Doctors Under Fire. Coincidentally, as with the White Helmets, it was co-founded by a former British army officer, Colonel (rtd) Hamish de Bretton-Gordon.

Quoted daily by multiple media outlets on the Skripal case, de Bretton-Gordon has become a very public expert, relied upon for unbiased comment and analysis by the British and foreign media on chemical weapon threats from Salisbury to Syria.

He is a former assistant director of Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Land Forces with the Ministry of Defence. Before that de Bretton-Gordon was commanding officer of Britain’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Regiment and Nato’s Rapid Reaction CBRN Battalion.

While his CBRN background is often mentioned, his military intelligence links are rarely referred to publicly.

Long before the Salisbury event, de Bretton-Gordon was urging greater government expenditure on chemical protection counter-measures and equipment. He has used his columns in The Guardian, Daily Telegraph, as well as TV appearances to repeat this message.

He was quoted in the Morning Star on March 15 in the news story Tories to fork out £48m for new defence centre.

While his Guardian online biography selectively mentions his military record and work on Syria, it overlooks his day job — de Bretton-Gordon is managing director CBRN of Avon Protection Systems, based in Melksham, Wiltshire.

The company website states: “We have been supplying respirators to the UK Ministry of Defence and other Nato allies since the 1920s and we are the primary supplier of CBRN respiratory equipment to all United States Department of Defence Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Special Operations Forces.”

So Colonel de Bretton-Gordon, among other things, sells gas masks. In fact, it’s likely you’ve seen his company’s products on TV worn by military or police personnel at high-profile incidents such as the one in Salisbury.

Last month, Avon Rubber, Avon Protection’s parent company, announced a five-year £16m contract to supply the Ministry of Defence with general service respirators.

In November, Avon Rubber announced it was a recognised bidder in a 10-year $8bn US Defence Department programme on CBRN equipment.

In January, it announced the completion of a multimillion-dollar order from the US Department of Defence after revealing last May that it had won a contract to supply 37,000 of its FM50 masks to “an unnamed customer.”

In 2017, the company made £50m from its US military contracts and a further £63.3m from other “protection and defence” revenue.

Commenting on the results, Fiona Cincotta, senior market analyst at City Index, noted: “Fatal acts of terrorism in the US and Europe have buoyed demand for gas masks that shows little signs of waning any time soon” (Terror acts ‘drive up’ orders at Avon Rubber, RubberNews.com — November 20 2017).

You don’t need to be a market analyst to predict that 2018 is likely to be a stellar year for the company.

Of course, de Bretton-Gordon is under no legal or ethical obligation to reveal his business affiliations during his media appearances, but shouldn’t the corporate media alert its readers and viewers to this obvious commercial interest?

After his military intelligence service ended and before he joined Avon, de Bretton-Gordon was a director of SecureBio Ltd, a company officially registered in the Northwest of England.

However, de Bretton-Gordon’s social media accounts place SecureBio’s location during this time as Porton Down in Wiltshire, home to the Ministry of Defence’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl).

According to the website of Military Speakers, “a specialist agency for keynote, motivation and after dinner speakers for corporate, industry and public sector events ... Hamish advises UK government at the very highest level on CBRN and frequently appears on the BBC, Sky News, AJE and CBS News as their expert commentator on Syria chemical weapons and all things CBRN.”

A veteran of war-torn Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan, he conducted, we are told, “highly secret operations some of which are now declassified.”

We are also told that he has travelled often to Syria and “has reported with the BBC on some of the very high profile chemical attacks. He has also worked with US networks and British newspapers to smuggle chemical samples out of Syria for verification in UK and France.”

The British newspaper was the Daily Telegraph. On April 29 2014, the paper reported that it “obtained soil samples collected from sites of chemical attacks inside Syria by Dr Ahmad — a medic whose real identity cannot be revealed for his own protection — who had previously received training in sample collection by western chemical weapons experts.

“Mr de Bretton-Gordon, a British chemical weapons expert and director of Secure Bio, a private company, was one of the trainers.”

And who carried out the tests? None other than de Bretton-Gordon himself.

In a previous piece for the paper, Syrian activists and doctors being trained to combat chemical attacks October 12 2013, de Bretton-Gordon wrote about his training programmes in Turkey, which were attended by senior leaders and activists of the Syrian National Council, the political wing of the Free Syrian Army.

This came at critical juncture in the war when every attempt was being made to use allegations of chemical weapon attacks, vehemently denied by the Syrian government, to promote overt Western military intervention.

Colonel de Bretton-Gordon was active on both sides of the Atlantic to further this aim. According to Homeland Security Today (May 22 2015), “In mid-April, he collected and analysed samples from the chlorine attack in Sarmin, Syria, which was presented to the UN Security Council by US Ambassador Samantha Powell (sic) [Power].”

In his many opinion pieces, this military intelligence veteran repeatedly called for the removal of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the imposition of no-fly zones by the RAF and the US air force, the key foreign policy demands of the Nato hawks.

The current anti-Russia hysteria is not simply directed against Russian President Vladimir Putin but also against the current Labour leader, whose refusal to meekly line up behind the Tories has appalled Establishment diehards, including right-wing Labour MPs.

It’s a concern de Bretton-Gordon shares, as he outlined in yet another Telegraph opinion piece on May 31 2017, just a week before the general election, entitled Jeremy Corbyn in Downing Street would be a gift to Britain's enemies.

Whatever truth eventually emerges from the Skripal attacks, there is no need for complex conspiracy theories to see how the incident is manipulated in the media to promote the interests, both commercial and political, of Britain’s very own military-industrial complex.

    The mask has slipped.
    Wow!

Spy poisoning: Corbyn says UK must still do business with Putin

    17 minutes ago..20/3/18

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has said the UK must still deal with
Russia despite "all fingers" pointing to it over the Salisbury spy attack.

He said he would "do business" with Vladimir Putin but assertively
and on the basis of the UK's values.Shadow chancellor John McDonnell
says he believes Mr Putin was responsible.

But Mr Corbyn said he wanted "an absolutely definitive answer" about
the source of the nerve agent used in the attempted murder before
blaming Moscow. In a wide-ranging interview with Radio 4's World at
One, Mr Corbyn said if he won power, he would challenge the newly
re-elected president on human rights and the whole basis of the
    UK's relationship with Moscow.

Evidence before accusations: Austria asks for full-fledged Skripal investigation before casting blame

    RT

It's premature to pin the blame in the Skripal poisoning case without first conducting a proper investigation, Austria's foreign minister has said. The UK has already picked Russia as a boogey man in the incident.

Speaking in Brussels on Monday, Karin Kneissl said that she viewed the poisoning of former double-agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury, England, as "abhorrent." However, unlike its British counterparts, Austria wants to have the full picture before casting blame on someone specifically.
"Our position is: First there is the need to establish a full picture of events in joint cooperation with the Chemical agency [Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)] and all those involved" the foreign minister said.
Kneissl's cautionary remarks come less than a week after a French government spokesperson said it was too early to discuss retaliatory measures against Russia, as its involvement in the case has yet to be established.

"We don't do fantasy politics. Once the elements are proven, then the time will come for decisions to be made," the spokesperson told a press conference shortly after British Prime Minister Theresa May announced she would be expelling 23 Russian diplomats over the poisoning.

The French government's position on the matter quickly took a U-turn, however, with the Elysee Palace releasing a follow-up statement declaring Russia's culpability in the attack. "France shares Britain's assessment that there is no other plausible explanation and reiterates its solidarity with his ally," the statement said.

On Monday, the EU's Foreign Affairs Council released a statement hailing the UK's "commitment" to work closely with the OPCW, and calling on Russia to "provide immediate, full and complete disclosure of its Novichok program" to the organization.

Novichok is a Soviet-era nerve agent allegedly used in the March 4 incident. The UK has so far failed to send a formal inquiry to Moscow about the case, although Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said that London will soon provide the OPCW with samples of the nerve agent used in the case. Johnson had earlier accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of personally ordering the attack.

    Moscow has countered that view.
"The fact, that they [UK officials] categorically reject to file an official request and deliberately and arrogantly fan anti-Russian rhetoric in the public sphere bordering on hysteria, indicates that they clearly understand they have no formal pretext to go down a legal road," Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday.
On Monday, Johnson doubled down on his inflammatory rhetoric, describing Russian denials of responsibility in the nerve agent attack as "increasingly absurd."

Russia is fighting a lethal enemy
    March 20, 2018 52
    by Petr Akopov for Vzgliad

    translated by Edvin Buday

London’s boorish behaviour has resulted in a fiery reaction within Russia – from indignation to jokes about “Little Britain”. Sadly, such derision is not the best possible answer. For we are dealing with a threat that is far from comical, and the entire history of relations between Russia and Britain is proof of that.

Great Britain’s behaviour in the Skripal affair is openly provocative: accusations against Russia, a recommendation to “put a sock in it”, declarations about Putin’s personal involvement. All of this, of course, is causing indignation in Russia.

But if it is possible to understand our civil society’s indignation, deriding Britain and her elites is totally incorrect. Discourse about “Little Britain”, about how “Lil’ England” has lost its influence and is slandering Russia in an impotent rage look strange. All of this is not even suitable as banal retaliatory propaganda, seeing as it is a distortion of reality.

It is in our interest to be honest. For several years now, we have been in open conflict with the global elite, with those who have a defining influence on world affairs. It is precisely this force that is now speaking through the mouths of May and Johnson. That we are calling it “Lil’ England” is a tradition of ours from the 19th century, when we found its position. In reality, it is that same international class of money and power, an elite that has once again seriously began to work on Russia. Not because of Crimea and Skripal, but as a result of our seriously blocking their path.

This is the path of globalisation a la Anglo-Saxon, i.e. the creation of a single humanity, ruled from the Western centre. “Western” is in this case a synonym for Atlantic, Anglo-Saxon. This project has been practically openly realised for the past hundred years. Through the gradual consolidation of companies and capital, through the convergence of civilisations and cultures, through their mixing and cross-pollination. Through the creation of unified global institutions of the financial, managerial, supervisory etc. type, through the formation of a new system of morals and philosophy of transhumanism. Humanity is being led to its “golden age” in which there will be no states, no nations, no sexes. Those who are against are retrogrades and conservatives, the enemies of progress and humanity. The fact that this is not yet being declared in official declarations does not mean anything; it is just a matter of time. In the meantime, Russia is being accused of totalitarianism and terrorism “like in the olden days” – this is simpler and more familiar.

Finish at: Russia is Fighting a Lethal Enemy

There is still anti Putin hysteria from the mainstream politicians and media
and it seems odd . I can understand the hype with the current anti
Russian/Trump and even Brexit to a degree and I heard on the radio earlier
that they wanted to extend the leave period for security reasons.

I wonder if this is to do with EU talks as I referred to earlier , to create a fear
atmosphere so as to get the stalled talks going in the UK's favour.Just a few weeks
ago Donald Tusk said UK Brexit plans 'pure illusion'. Suddenly after this attack a
breakthrough occurred . Tusk is Polish a traditional enemy of Russia and is in the
front line if there is a major conflict in the Ukraine.

What if in private talks the UK made it clear if you want us to come to your aid via
NATO it might be in your interest to back us now.....Coincidence ? or a by product
of a bigger agenda ? Obviously it would not be done so blatantly but whatever the
attack makes no sense from a Russian point of view as discussed in the meeting in
the vid below....But the longer the UK can keep this fear going the better the Brexit
talks are going it seems. Though Nigel Farage is not happy with the transition

Donald Tusk: UK Brexit plans 'pure illusion'

relationship with the EU.Mr Tusk said he could only go on media reports of Brexit

Putin 'will use World Cup like Hitler's Olympics', agrees Johnson
    31 minutes ago..21/3/18
The foreign secretary has agreed that President Putin is using the World Cup in
Russia as a "PR exercise" akin to how Hitler used the 1936 Olympics.Labour MP Ian
Austin put it to Boris Johnson that the Russian president wanted to "gloss over
    [his] brutal corrupt regime".

Mr Johnson replied: "I'm afraid that's completely right, completely right." He added
that he would have an "urgent conversation" with Russia about the safety of fans at
the tournament. The foreign secretary said it was of "crucial importance" in light of
23 British diplomats being expelled from Russia - including the individual
responsible for football fans. The exchange came as the Foreign Affairs Select
Committee discussed the Salisbury spy attack.

Default Re: Sergei Skripal: who was behind the Salisbury poisoning?

I agree the timing is odd and the hysteria has an odd tone to it. Maybe we’ve wised up to the propaganda spin enough that this just seems so transparent to us? Maybe for those still under the spell it has a different effect?

Here is a “perfidious Albion” explanation from LaRouche:

Quote Perfidious Albion: The Fatally Wounded British Beast Lashes Out
Skripal Poisoning a Desperate British Attempt to Resurrect Their American Coup

    by Barbara Boyd, barbara@lpac-organizers.com

This statement explores the strategic significance of major events in the world starting in February of 2018. Our goal is to precisely situate Theresa May’s March 12–14 mad effort to manufacture a new “weapons of mass destruction” hoax using the same people (the MI6 intelligence grouping around Sir Richard Dearlove) and script (an intelligence fraud concerning weapons of mass destruction) which were used to draw the United States into the disastrous Iraq War. The Skripal poisoning fraud also directly involves British agent Christopher Steele, the central figure in the ongoing coup against Donald Trump. This time the British information warfare operation is aimed at directly provoking Russia while maintaining their targeting of the U.S. population and President Trump.

As the fevered war-like media coverage and hysteria surrounding the case makes clear, a certain section of the British elite seems prepared to risk everything on behalf of their dying imperial system. Despite the hype, economic warfare and sanctions appear to be the British weapons of choice. Putin, as we shall see, recently called the West’s nuclear bluff. With their Russiagate coup against Donald Trump fizzling, exposing British agent Christopher Steele and a slew of his American friends to criminal prosecution, a new tool was desperately needed to back the President of the United States into the British geopolitical corner shared by most of the American establishment. The tool is an intelligence hoax, a tried and true British product.

According to the British spy tale, a former Russian military intelligence colonel, Sergei Skripal who spied for Great Britain in Russia from the early 1990s until 2004 was poisoned, along with his daughter, on March 4 in Salisbury, England, using a nerve agent “of a type developed by the former Soviet Union.” In 2010, Skripal had been exchanged in a spy swap between the United States and Russia. He had served six years in a Russian prison for spying for Britain. He had been living in the open in Britain for the last eight years. Skripal’s MI6 recruiter and handler, Pablo Miller, listed himself as a consultant to Orbis Business Intelligence, Christopher Steele’s British company, on his LinkedIn profile. When the Telegraph called attention to the Orbis reference, it was removed from the LinkedIn profile. Steele, who worked on the Trump dossier through his company Orbis, has denied that Miller worked directly on the Trump dossier.

Theresa May and her foreign minister Boris Johnson insist there is only one person who could be responsible for the poisoning, described as an act of war, and that is Vladimir Putin. No evidence has been offered to support this claim. In fact, there is a substantial doubt whether the putative nerve agent, Novichok, even exists. No plausible motive has been provided as to why Putin would order such a provocative murder now, ahead of the World Cup, when the Russiagate coup against him in the United States has lost all momentum. Rather than following the protocols of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which require that evidence of the alleged agent be presented to Russia, the eccentric and unpopular May instead delivered an ultimatum to Russia and whipped up war fever throughout the UK. She now seeks to pull Donald Trump and NATO into ever more aggressive moves against Russia.

Thus, just like Christopher Steele’s dirty dossier against Donald Trump, the British claims against Putin are an evidence-free exercise of raw power. The Anglo- American establishment instructed us, with respect to Steele: “trust him, ignore the stinky factless content presented in this dossier, just note that he is backed by very important intelligence agencies who could cook your goose if you object.” The same can be said for Teresa May’s crazed assertions now.

A short statement of the reasons why the British are now staging the Skripal provocation can be found in a March 14 London Sunday Telegraph call to arms by Allister Heath, who rants: “We need a new world order to take on totalitarian capitalists in Russia and China… Such an alliance … would dramatically shift the global balance of power, and allow the liberal democracies finally to fight back. It would endow the world with the sorts of robust institutions that are required to contain Russia and China… Britain needs a new role in the world; building such a network would be our perfect mission.” Across the pond, as they say, a similar foundational statement was made by 68 former Obama Administration officials who have formed a group called National Security Action, aimed at securing Trump’s impeachment and attacking Russia and China.

... neo-liberal economies continue to see their productive potentials sucked dry by the massive mound of debt they have created since the 2008 financial collapse. This debt is now on a hair trigger for implosion. It is estimated by banking insiders that the City of London is sitting on a derivatives powderkeg of $700 trillion with over-the-counter derivatives accounting for another $570 trillion. The City of London will bear the major impact of the derivatives collapse.

    ...
On top of that, President Putin delivered a mammoth strategic shock on March 1, showing new Russian weapons systems based on new physical principles which render present U.S. ABM systems and much of current U.S. war-fighting doctrine obsolete, together with the vaunted first strike capacity with which NATO has surrounded Russia. Not only is the West sitting on a new financial collapse; its vaunted military superiority has just been flanked.

    ....
Continues with a long review of the broader geopolitical situation and the factional “war” in the USA. Very good review of all the pieces (if one sets aside the LaRouche politicking).

Unless the UK has some real intelligence & proof this stinks,
The only level it makes sense is either the Deepstate globalist
are putting pressure on Trump via the UK as they are all part
of NWO behind the scenes. Or they are using it to get the EU in
a panic to get a better EU deal. Both seems more plausible
than Russia doing this officially. There could be other possible
reasons but the over the top reaction by PM May , politicians
and mainstream media is suspicious ......

'Highly likely' Russia behind attack - EU leaders

EU leaders agree with the UK government that it is "highly likely"
Russia is responsible for the nerve agent attack in the UK, Donald
    Tusk has said.

The European Council president tweeted they agreed "there is
    no other plausible explanation".

PM Theresa May had said the Salisbury poisoning was "part of
a pattern of Russian aggression against Europe".

Moscow denies responsibility for the attack on former spy Sergei

But Mr Tusk tweeted that the European Council of EU leaders
"agrees with the UK government that highly likely Russia is responsible".

BBC political editor Laura Kuenssberg said the prime minister
had "succeeded in getting them to toughen up" their language
