    Default Floccinaucinihilipilification

    According to Wikipedia the following:

"the action or habit of estimating something as worthless."

(pron. a little like the following: flocky-nocky-nigh-hilly-pilly-fication)

I was admittedly a little torn about where to post this (The Lighter Side was a consideration), but, you know, being honest, here does seem to make sense.

So, just for fun, can you find a really unusual word that we can use to, maybe, help the community stifle verbosity?

You know, something short and sweet (as above).

No pressure, but if you do have some humdingers I would love to hear them

    Lots of love, Tintin

Blinking flip That IS a good one. Thank you. (I'll need to go away and practice that)

    LOPADOTEMACHOSELACHOGALEOKRANIOLEIPSAN …P TERYGON
The longest word ever to appear in literature comes from Aristophanes’ play, Assemblywomen, published in 391 BC. The Greek word tallies 171 letters, but translates to 183 in English. This mouthful refers to a fictional fricassee comprised of rotted dogfish head, wrasse, wood pigeon, and the roasted head of a dabchick, among other culinary morsels.

(thirty letters) is a mild form of inherited pseudohypoparathyroidism that simulates the symptoms of the disorder but isn’t associated with abnormal levels of calcium and phosphorus in the blood.

    Some pretty cool one's here:

    https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/ex...nderful-words/

    e.g.

catoptromancy : foretelling the future by means of a mirror

deipnosophist : a person skilled in the art of dining and dinner-table conversation

    pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis
    - an invented term said to mean ‘a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine ash and sand dust’, but rarely used except for its curiosity value

triskaidekaphobia - extreme superstition about the number thirteen

    floccinaucinihilipilification is in there too

snollygoster - a shrewd or unprincipled person (hmm maybe we could start a trend and use this one from time to time, but it's got a double meaning )

When in Wales be sure to say this name three times when you visit

LlanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogOGOgoch. Saint Mary's Church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio of the red cave. OGO - This comes from the word "ogof" meaning "cave" in Welsh.

Wonderful. Yes, the forum membership application process is specifically designed to filter out snollygosters. Occasionally, snollygosters do get through, but Paul has developed a clever algorithm for detecting them, and they don't stay here long. Many of them can be found promoting Corey Goode's work (who is a snollygoster himself), and adding positive comments to David Wilcock's videos.

    Brilliant

And (seriously, I do mean this), please could you Gemma13 create that when you pick this up?

It would make my day, absolutely

Hmmm as for the thread, I thought it a cool idea too, but I’m conflicted over it at the moment as it could incite a bit of conflict after names begin to drop in.

A bit more trivia though. According to these links:

    https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/de...n/snollygoster
SNOLLYGOSTER : A shrewd, unprincipled person, especially a politician.

ORIGIN: Mid 19th century (originally with allusion to a fast-moving monster or ghost): origin uncertain; perhaps ultimately from German schnelle Geister, literally ‘quick spirits’.

    https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/snollygoster
    ETYMOLOGY
: 19th-century American English. Possibly from snallygaster, a mythical beast that preys on poultry and children; possibly from Pennsylvania German schnelle geeschter, from German schnell (“quick”) + Geist (“spirit”).
