Magpies mourning a dead friend... I did once see this, a magpie had been killed on a busy roundabout that I was driving across and two of its friends were hopping around it whilst trying not to get run over themselves.

Magpies are highly intelligent creatures, as are all corvids. They have such a sense of fun too - I once saw a large group of magpies and crows at the top of a very steep bank. There was a strong wind and they flew into the updraft that swept them up high into the air. They then landed and did it again and again.
