    Hi:

While on this Ed and Noam issue, I found this on Reddit, about Ed’s Wikipedia bio, from 2011. The editor that is mentioned I refer to here, and he likely was the chief culprit, at least until Philip Cross joined the libel party in 2012. Ed’s Wikipedia bio has been libelous for more than a decade.

    Hi:

I was already planning to write something about the latest Fauci media blitz when Sam Husseini published this. In a recent deposition, Fauci pulled a Ronald Reagan, claiming that he could not remember anything, when he was not lying. When Mr. Deputy ascended the hot seat in the prosecutorial misconduct hearing, he had similar lapses of memory. It is a standard strategy.

Fauci claimed to not know much about Baric and Daszak, but they were literally on his COVID team, and both were up to their eyeballs in genetic engineering of viruses and the Wuhan lab (1, 2). The conflicts of interest are mind-boggling, and Sam referred to some of it in his article.

Yahoo! has been my home page since 1996, but I wonder for how much longer. I am too used to getting a lot from Yahoo! to probably change, but it has been pretty disgusting to see the propaganda from the New York Times every day, particularly on Ukraine and COVID. The medical racket is the most deeply entrenched in California, and they are trying to wipe out doctors who don’t toe the line. Ed spent much of his writing career writing about the New York Times, part of me is glad that Ed did not live to see the past few years, but I wonder what Ed would have written on.

    Best,

    Wade

    Hi:

The Babylon Bee is the right’s answer to The Onion, and I am sent stuff from it periodically. I just saw this trans-dog article, and this is one of those situations where satire is not all that satirical, as there is literally a trans-dog in my circles. I have not heard that “he” (he was a trans-girl before deciding to be a trans-dog, and I am not sure of the dog’s gender) has entered or won any dog shows. The trans issue is way out there.

    Hi:

Just now, I decided to Google “trans-dog,” and look at what I immediately found, as the first result. So, that teenager in my circles is far from alone. And like that trans-teenager, the person was originally trans-gender, but decided to take it to the next level. Too bad that Monty Python is not around any longer. They could have gotten a lot of mileage out of it. Of course, this trans-dog lives in LA.

That story appears to only be in that British tabloid, as the mainstream media likely found it a bridge too far, and risked being accused of making fun of them. If I had not had a trans-dog in my circles, I am not sure that I would have taken that story seriously, and looked to see if it was published on April 1st. I actually played a dog in high school, but that woman reached a new level.

Good grief Wade, this is beyond the pale! Some folk will do anything for publicity. Yes, sadly Monty Python has gone, as they would have annihilated this fiasco.

    Hi:

This will be one of my comprehensive posts, partly inspired by Chris’s observation on how neoliberal capitalism has not been the answer, which has frustrated people and led to the current woke-ism and other nonsensical ideologies.

Adam Smith wrote in 1776 about how the business world works and fortunes are made: wipe out the competition. When Smith was writing, capitalism already existed, but it was up to Marx, a lifetime later, to give it a name. Ed wrote about how so-called “free trade” agreements are not about free trade at all, but about protecting capitalist fortunes.

Noam and Ed wrote about how American imperial transnational capitalism worked, and so did Michael Parenti. John Perkins wrote from the inside on how it works. The USA’s imperial foreign policy enabled today’s situation in which American-based corporations control half of the world economy.

During my days with Dennis, I learned the hard way about how there are no free markets, so-called democracy is a joke, the media is a propaganda machine, and what we encountered was capitalism on steroids. Neoliberal capitalism is like throwing gasoline on the fire.

Nearly all of humanity suffers from an egocentric myopia, rarely seeing beyond the horizons of their immediate self-interest, rarely breaking free of the social control ideologies, and rarely awakening. Bucky Fuller said long ago that politics and reshuffling the deck of scarcity was not the solution. The only solution is abolishing scarcity, and only one thing can do that.

I carried Dennis’s and Brian’s spears for their free energy efforts, and Greer is the latest hero to try to scale the ramparts, with a similar mass movement approach. Some of what Greer is doing avoids some of the obvious pitfalls, but he wallows in others. His should be one of a thousand efforts like his, but that is not the state of humanity today. There is only one like Dennis, and I have seen only a handful like Brian and Greer.

This should not be on the shoulders of a few heroes and the herds that they lead. I am trying something different, and we’ll see how it goes. The biggest event in the human journey deserves at least a few approaches to it, and the technology for it is older than I am.

    Best,

    Wade

    Hi:

This morning, I saw a ray of light. Five global mainstream media companies, including the New York Times, have publicly asked the Biden administration to cease its prosecution of Julian Assange. From the very beginning of the attacks on Assange, the New York Times and other signatories, who actually published Wikileaks documents, stated that what Assange was being attacked over falls into the category of normal journalism. The founder of a site that also published Wikileaks documents has heroically asked to be prosecuted with Assange.

As Caitlin Johnstone noted, one of the signatories of that letter to the Biden administration, the Guardian, actually led the smear campaign against Assange. This comes on the heels of news that the Australian government is also trying to halt the USA’s prosecution of Assange, who is an Australian citizen.

It is not often that I can write about a nice development on the global stage, but this is one of those times.

    Hi:

It is time for another pandemic post. I was hiking with a pal yesterday who volunteered that he was likely vaccine injured, as I told him about my other pal. I am not hunting for these stories, but my friends volunteer them. This is the third friend who has volunteered a vaccine injury to me. Like my other friend, alcohol looks like it contributed. So, I am now in the business of telling my friends that if they want another 20-to-30 good years, they need to clean up their lifestyles, especially processed food and inebriants (and no vaccines!).

Fauci and crew have likely killed more than a million Americans with the COVID response, and there are tens of millions of vaccine-injured Americans. There is way too much to report on the pandemic, but I’ll cover a few highlights. Biden’s censorship and Fauci’s lies have been making the rounds (1, 2, 3). Sam Husseini has been Tweeting some of my posts lately.

As I have written, “fact-checking” is now part of the media’s propaganda arsenal. They can’t fact-check their way out of a paper bag. I have written about Matt Taibbi a lot over the years, and he is campaigning today on the unreliability of the media. People are having a field day reporting all the lies that we were told about COVID. I will always tread lightly in this area, but there is a lot of scuttlebutt that the COVID vaccines were intended to injure people. Europe’s birth rates have plummeted, coinciding with the vaccines. If nothing else, the fraudulent way that the vaccines were tested should worry anybody who got them, and I attached recent Mercola articles on these subjects. Only the fringes of the mainstream will report any of this. That collapsed crypto company funded some of the fraudulent trials to wipe out early treatments. The CDC and FDA are performing their usual fraud (1), Pfizer wakes up after the horses are out of the barn, and the medical system is in crisis.

One thing has become clear: Ed and Noam were way ahead of their time with the Propaganda Model. Most Americans have begun to wake up to the fact that the media lies outright, all the time. The pandemic really shoved it in everybody’s faces, with propaganda and censorship (1) that have been unprecedented. And, it is the so-called left that has gone the furthest off the deep end, such as this socialist article that was full of parroted disinformation. Here is a sane article on the lab leak issue, as the government stonewalls.

    Grim times.

Default Re: WADE FRAZIER : A Healed Planet

    Hi:

I have decided to start a new thread, titled, “Western Censorship and Propaganda.” This was inspired by Matt Taibbi’s latest project. I wrote about Taibbi just yesterday, before his latest project was publicly revealed: The Twitter Files. I am doing this to bring many different aspects of the media, both traditional and Internet social media, under one roof. I’ll pay particular attention to what this situation means for the prospects of manifesting the Fifth Epoch.

I have obviously written on this topic for many years, from my Lies That I Was Raised With essay to Ed’s biography to what has happened in recent years with COVID, Ukraine, Assange’s persecution, and Wikipedia’s criminal behavior. The censorship and propaganda is pervasive, in all aspects of our societies, and we used to be called the “free world,” of all things. Our freedom is scant in reality, although the prevailing lies tell us how free we are. When the Internet arrived on the scene, I saw a new tool with great potential for freedom, but I also knew a generation ago that the forces of censorship and propaganda would immediately seek to undermine whatever potential the Internet might have. I have been watching the door slowly close over the past generation, and I have been in a race to use this medium to really get something done, before that door slams tightly. This will be quite a ride. I am also bearing down on my essay work, so this may go slowly.

I’ll start with my journey. I was a bookworm from the time I could walk. At age nine, I won the first spelling bee I ever entered into, and read the newspaper every day from that age. In my LA days, I subscribed to the Christian Science Monitor, thinking that I was getting something a little more thoughtful than the LA Times that I read each morning. As with my Easter Bunny question in auditing class, as I look back, I can tell that my cognitive dissonance was building in those youthful days. After three of my life’s unhappiest years, a desperate prayer led to me Dennis, and then my education truly began. The day that I met Dennis, I saw lies literally being shouted about him, and I began witnessing the media’s Big Lies almost immediately. Three unbelievable years later, my life was ruined, but it was not until I read an LA Times “investigative report” on Dennis that I finally realized that they can just make it up as they go. I had never heard of Noam Chomsky when I read the LA Times’s libel piece, but the next year I heard of a new magazine that Ed edited, and I was so ready to learn at Ed’s and Noam’s scholarly feet.

Thus began my days of study, which have yet to end. I have stated it many times before: if I had not been awakened by my journey with Dennis, I would likely not have much worth saying. I would still be naïve, to one degree or another. I have seen the naïveté of free energy activists over the years, and it can be deadly in that field, as the field is stuck in its arrested development, still focused on inventors, scientists, and promoters, which the latest high-profile effort has not quite broken free of, which may lead to its demise.

    Here we go.

    Best,

    Wade

Default Re: WADE FRAZIER : A Healed Planet

    Hi:

On the issue of Western censorship and propaganda, like with everything I do, I try to incorporate the long view into it, as well as the more immediate dynamics. Humans are social vertebrate animals, and more specifically, mammalian primate apes that learned to walk erect, master energy technologies, domesticate each other as well as plants and animals, invent civilization, industrialize, explore physical reality, and begin to reproduce intelligence. Those factors all have an influence, to one degree or another, on what is happening today.

Social mammals generally have some kind of hierarchy. It helps the communities function, and social animals are social because sociality enhances survival and reproductive success. On the evolutionary journey to humanity, monkeys engage in crude forms of politics, and chimp politics is so sophisticated that Frans de Waal doubts that a human would last a day in chimp political systems. Chimps are a hundred times as violent as humans are, and the hunter-gatherer chapter of the human journey, particularly after the easy meat was gone and humans became fiercely territorial again, was prodigiously violent, proportionately the most violent phase of the human journey. Reflecting our ape heritage, men have always tried to dominate their societies, and violence and Machiavellian plotting were always key tools of greedy and power-hungry men.

With the rise of domestication and civilization, for the first time, elites appeared on the evolutionary scene, they were always economic elites above all else, and they flaunted prestige goods as a mark of their status. Today, private planes, mega-yachts, penthouse suites, palatial compounds, and trips into space are among the hallmarks of the elite. Early states were extremely violent institutions, and after the public was cowed into submission, elites could rule more gently. The roots of what we call propaganda today were discussed among ancient Greek philosophers and called public persuasion.

Noam has long discussed that the roots of propaganda in English-speaking nations began with the English civil wars in the 1600s. Once elites could no longer rule by violence, then they needed to more effectively control what the public thought. So, elite public persuasion (and “intellectuals” in their service) honed the art of propaganda.

With the vast fortunes amassed by industrialization, robber barons became “philanthropists” and began turning propaganda into a science in the early 20th century. Freedom of speech was passed into law in England in the 1600s, and the USA largely copied the English Bill of Rights in making its own. The USA has long had the greatest freedom of speech on Earth, but it has always been under siege by elites. Censorship and propaganda have been blights on American society since the beginning. The USA’s freedom of speech is really scant for a nation that calls itself the paragon of freedom. Most censorship in the USA is performed by private interests, not the government.

Ed and Noam began Manufacturing Consent by noting that in order to manage the population in a modern nation of great wealth disparities and class conflicts, propaganda is required. Noam and Ed were subjected to one of the most outrageous instances of censorship in the late 20th century. Propaganda and censorship are two sides of the same coin, to manipulate public perception. Censor inconvenient facts, and selectively present the uncensored facts, to serve elite interests at the public’s expense. The USA has the world’s most sophisticated brainwashing system. The best propaganda does not appear to be propaganda, but news, education, entertainment, and the like.

The propaganda of the Soviet Union, Russia, and China has always been clumsy, and the peoples of those nations knew they were being lied to. I have repeatedly seen when immigrants from those nations are asked what the main difference was between the media in those nations and the USA, and their answers were always along the lines of, “We knew that we were being lied to in our home nations, but Americans believe the lies they are told.”

That has been changing over the past generation or so, and Ed and Noam get some credit for that. Students no longer laugh like they used to when the Propaganda Model is mentioned. The USA’s system is unparalleled on Earth in providing the illusion of freedom. That illusion has been crumbling in my lifetime, accelerated with the pandemic’s draconian response by Fauci and crew, and the media’s propaganda and censorship reached unprecedented levels, particularly in the social media (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

As if to prove Ed right, Wikipedia’s bio of Ed is libelous, and Google has de-ranked my bio of Ed into oblivion. Much more is coming.

    Best,

    Wade

Default Re: WADE FRAZIER : A Healed Planet

    Hi:

I decided to see if Google’s de-ranking my bio on Ed was more about Ed or me, and it may be a bit of both. In 2019, my bio of Ed was the second result when his name was Googled, and it was the third result on Paul Bragg’s name.

I just Googled Ed’s name, and my Ed bio was on page 12, about the 140th result. My Ed bio was right ahead of Wikispooks. I entered Ed’s name into DuckDuckGo, Wikispooks was the fourth result, and my Ed bio was the tenth result, on page 1.

I just entered Paul Bragg into Google, and my essay on Bragg is on page 5, or more than the 40th result. At DuckDuckGo, my essay is on page 1, as the sixth result.

So, my Ed bio was down-ranked by about 70 times, and my Bragg essay by “only” a dozen times or so. Or, to compare to DuckDuckGo, I am ranked 14 times higher on my Ed bio, and about seven times higher for my Bragg essay than at Google. For a lark, I went to my old company’s search site, Dogpile, and my Ed bio was on page 2. My name dominates the first page of Dogpile’s results, as well as DuckDuckGo’s, but I am down-ranked below other Wade Fraziers and mentioned only once at Google in the first two pages.

This is one more way that censorship is accomplished on the Internet, and DuckDuckGo is joining the Empire.

My work on Ed’s bio was erased, in highly irregular fashion, by a very rude Wikipedia admin, and the chief libeler on Ed’s bio, whom Jimmy Wales has crassly defended, deleted a reference to my Bragg essay at Wikipedia, making sure that Wikipedia has nothing to do with me. That “editor” is likely an intelligence operation.

So, using rough numbers, about half of the de-ranking of my Ed bio seems to have been because of Google’s targeting my site, and about half was because he is Ed, as Ed’s work is far more dangerous to the American Empire than Paul Bragg’s work is.

Of course, I cannot see what is happening behind the scenes, so must speculate a bit on what is really happening, but it is definitely dirty.

    Best,

    Wade

    Hi Hughe:

I put in Ed’s name, and my bio came up on page 3. I see that Brave is less than two years old. So, not quite as relevant, and gives a lot of strange results (page 2 had almost nothing to do with Ed). That engine is still a work in progress.

    Hi:

As I write this thread on Western censorship and propaganda, this is much more than some “bad actors” that hoodwink everybody. Propaganda and censorship work because nearly everybody plays along. It is the same dynamic for why we have a medical racket. These situations are 1% conspiracy and 99% complicity. Ed and Noam's Propaganda Model explains more than 95% of how the media works. Ed never said that elite “conspiratorial” behavior does not happen, but that it was not needed to explain how the media basically works.

The vast majority of Americans, for instance, drink the Kool-Aid from their cradles and never learn any better, and never want to learn any better. That Kool-Aid is tasty, as it provides material and egocentric rewards, and elevates the in-group over the out-group. Noam began his political writing career by noting the responsibility of intellectuals, but most of his writings deal with the failures of intellectuals to live up to that responsibility, as they provide ideological service to the elite. This is not new, and goes back to the first civilizations, as the elite were deified by the day’s intellectuals (priest class). On the mystical side of the house, Michael stated that few souls ever wake up while in physical reality, but sleepwalk the entire way, as creatures of their conditioning. Michael Roads’s otherworldly mentor said that the key to awakening was choosing love. If people do not do that, then they will live their lives as creatures of their conditioning.

Neither the so-called left nor right is really awake, they just drink different flavored Kool-Aid. The right is in thrall to the energy racket, as they deny Global Warming and believe in stuff like abiotic oil (so that we never run out). The left is in thrall to the medical racket, which is clearly reflected in their support for vaccination and the draconian pandemic response, as they deified Fauci, who is a criminal, IMO, and is responsible for many millions of deaths over his career, like his professional ancestor Morris Fishbein was. The right largely drinks Third Epoch Kool-Aid (organized religion, racism, and bigotry, such as their anti-abortion stance, which is all about controlling women, and tribal ideologies, nationalism often among them), while the left drinks Fourth Epoch Kool-Aid (materialism, rationalism, scientism, and is surprisingly susceptible to capitalism’s seductions). Few Americans really escape nationalism and capitalism.

Global Warming “skepticism” began with Fred Singer and friends, who sold their souls to the hydrocarbon lobby, and the right parrots their talking points to this day. Even among the defenders of science, medical science is considered its flimsiest and most corrupt branch. But the left can’t go there, and it is incredible that Noam can’t seem to. There is no credible evidence that vaccination ever conquered any disease, but the left is oblivious to it, and Noam is in particular. Ed and Noam’s Propaganda Model is essentially a conflict-of-interest model, but conflicts that align with the left’s ideological predilections get conveniently overlooked. It is really amazing that Noam is blind to that, but virtually everybody has their blind spots, as they hug their ideological teddy bears.

That teddy-bear-hugging is why the propaganda works. In Taibbi’s recent speech in Canada, he noted that almost everybody who watches Fox News is a Republican, while almost everybody who watches MSNBC is a Democrat, as both audiences guzzle their particular flavor of Kool-Aid, and the talking heads pander to them. Both audiences are deeply deluded, but just have different delusions. It is bizarre that RFK, Jr., could only get interviews for his masterpiece on places such as Fox News, as he was shut out from the so-called “liberal” media. Similarly, feminists who take on the crazed trans ideology are completely shut out on the left, so also appear on Fox News and other right wing venues. The left has gone off the deep end further than the right has in ways, which is amazing to witness.

But neither camp is really awake, similar to how they are on structural/conspiratorial issues. Each group is susceptible to their preferred brand of propaganda, and most of the apolitical masses simply do not really care much. All that matters to them is a full belly and their addictions temporarily sated.

This aspect of the Western censorship and propaganda systems has to be understood, if people really want to be productive in changing things, and I aim to.

    Best,

    Wade

    Hi:

As I continue this Western censorship and propaganda thread, it is time to deal in some depth with the master of exposing and analyzing it: Ed. What I found very interesting in studying to write Ed’s bio was that it took twenty years from the beginning of his political writing career to the development of his first propaganda model. Ed did not start out writing about the media’s role in Western propaganda, but focused on the government’s role. In his first political books, about the only instance that I saw his writing on the media’s role was when he observed that a Newsweek correspondent thought that the USA outdid Hitler in Vietnam, but that revelation never made it into Newsweek’s pages.

It was not until his first collaboration with Noam (who is 94 today – Happy Birthday Uncle Noam! ) that Ed began analyzing the media’s role in the propaganda system. Fittingly, his first collaboration with Noam was subjected to one of the most outrageous instances of Western censorship ever, and inflicted by private interests, not the government. Orwell noted the same thing, and his work was subjected to commercial, not governmental, censorship.

In the introduction of his anthology of his and Ed’s work, David Peterson marveled at Ed’s neologisms: bloodbath categories (constructive, benign, nefarious, and mythical), worthy and unworthy victims, demonstration elections, the Propaganda Model, the Terrorism Industry, etc.

Ed was ingenious in his methods of analysis, and his terminology in exposing Western propaganda was memorable. I eagerly awaited my Z Magazine each month, and the first thing that I always read was Ed’s latest. Most of the propaganda and censorship that Ed exposed was not around banning/burning books and outright lies of commission, but a subtler process that even those involved in producing it were often unaware of. Ed explained the distortions as more an issue of “internalized values” than conscious malice.

At Columbia’s prestigious school of journalism, Henry Kissinger spoke to a class that Matt Kennard attended. Kennard was nearly kicked out of the school for asking Kissinger questions about his foreign policy atrocities in Indochina and Chile, as the students were supposed to prostrate themselves at Kissinger’s feet. The ideal of the press’s role of holding government accountable was nowhere to be found at Columbia, but blind obedience was cultivated instead, and those who absorbed the indoctrination could count on successful careers of purveying government/corporate propaganda.

Ed’s use of paired examples clearly laid out the media’s bias. It has been unanswerable by the media, so his work has been ignored on that score, or extremely weak and irrelevant defenses have been mounted.

Ed wrote on the surreal double standards of the media’s use of the word “genocide.” Ed placed war criminals into two categories: military and economic. Ed wrote on the real junk science, the endemic racism in the media, and on how slavishly pro-corporate the media was, such as on “free trade” agreements, which were not about free trade at all. Ed wrote at length on how so-called human rights organizations had devolved into imperial fig leaves (1, 2, 3), and on how their definition of human rights became increasingly irrelevant. Ed wrote on the kangaroo court tribunals that the USA mounted (1, 2), and how the media became a straight propaganda conduit for those courts (how familiar! ).

Ed did not just show how terrible it all was, but he discussed ways to fix it (1, 2, 3).

Ed dealt with such grim subjects with a dry sense of humor, and created a funny dictionary of the government’s and media’s propaganda terms. One of my fonder memories of Ed’s Z articles was when he covered some standard imperial outrage and noted how the media could not even muster some “mouse-like squeaks” of dissent.

Ed’s work was brilliant in clearly laying out the forces that corrupted the media into becoming propaganda institutions. Accordingly, his Wikipedia bio is libelous, as if to prove Ed right, and any attempts to remove outright libel and present Ed’s work somewhat fairly are met with a furious response by the Wikipedia admin and the anonymous editors. On a positive note, Ed’s chief libeler has finally been banned by Wikipedia, for his repeated smears.

As with Wikipedia, I doubt that the media can be salvaged in its current state. As with all of the rackets, only the arrival of the Fifth Epoch will kill them. The media racket is also embedded with the other rackets in an interlock of interests, and I’ll deal with some of that in coming posts.

    Best,

    Wade

    Hi:

Briefly, on the uselessness of retail politics, yesterday Sam Husseini published an article on Trump that had me laugh out loud. He stated that Obama was even slicker than Clinton, a lawyer that could not be pinned down, while Trump was like an electron that passed through quantum states: he could contradict himself in seconds.

Carter, Clinton, Obama, and Trump were “outside-the-Beltway” figures who promised change but reliably served the capitalist-imperialist interests. Biden has been a machine politician for his entire career. I have long maintained that it does not matter who the president is, and has not since JFK was gunned down in broad daylight in front of hundreds of witnesses, and it was all covered up, as the CIA led the “investigation.” Every president since then has known full well that he was a disposable pawn.

Carter and Clinton did a little snooping when they began their presidencies, but then quickly toed the line. Carter actually promised, as a campaign issue, to get to the bottom of the UFO issue, but was quickly put in his place. He still tried to do something, but it was ineffective and was told that he would end up like JFK did, if he pressed it. As it was, he presided over another JFK investigation, which also went nowhere. Clinton also broached the JFK issue, which led to the Northwoods documents, which further bolstered Gary’s story. Clinton was briefed on the UFO situation, but as one of the Friends of Bill told Greer, Clinton was afraid of ending up like JFK if he pressed the issue. I recently heard from a pal who dealt with Carter and noted what a liar Carter was. About the only “progressive” act that Clinton made was trying for a national health care plan soon after becoming president, but he was shown his place as the medical racket shot it down. Not that I need to, but this morning’s Mercola article, attached, was about how Big Pharma owns modern medicine. I also attached a little medical racket humor that a pal sent me.

We met with Al Gore at the White House, who begged off of any involvement with Brown’s Gas while calling it “too dangerous.” Greer later heard exactly the same words from Gore. Ralph Nader is the only presidential candidate that I ever saw who was worth voting for. Ed promoted Nader’s candidacy, too, but got to see how rigged it all was and learned his lesson. Nader is the last candidate that I voted for, for president.

Early in the 2016 campaign, Jeb Bush was a frontrunner, and I remarked that it would say it all about American politics if it was going to be Hillary versus Jeb as the “choice” for president. At least I was spared that.

Near his life’s end, Brian remarked on his “co-dependence” on Washington, D.C., he told me that electoral politics was a “dead end,” and he would have known. It is pure folly to expect any kind of positive change to come out of Washington, D.C. The game was rigged long ago; it is all for show. I turned down two opportunities to go to the White House, and I know that I didn’t miss a thing.

    Best,

    Wade

    Hi:

Back to Western censorship and propaganda, and I want to write about a few examples that I have seen over the years. Academics and scholars are deeply complicit in this, not just journalists. One aspect that is kind of amazing is when historical figures write or say something that is hard to interpret in any other way from how they stated it, but academics and scholars can rush in and do imperial damage control, as they argue that the figure did not mean it, or bury it in oblivion.

A recent example is Brzezinski’s bragging about initiating the Soviet Union’s invasion of Afghanistan, as he worked to give them their “Vietnam” by leading them into the “Afghan Trap.” His statements were in a French magazine (but curiously omitted in the English version published in the USA), and it was very clear. A British scholar wrote a paper in 2020 that argued that Brzezinski didn’t really mean it, and here is a rave review of that paper. But in an interview with the head of the CIA in Western Asia, who presided over the CIA in the Afghanistan region, he discussed when he confronted Brzezinski about his statements in that French magazine, and Brzezinski confirmed it. Here is a very strong rebuttal to that paper and the glowing review by the same people who interviewed that CIA official (that rebuttal is quite a read, and clearly lays out the path of disaster and genocide that the USA has inflicted on that part of the world since 1991). Wikipedia heavily cites those who deny what Brzezinski said, and no mention is made of that CIA-official interview and the rebuttal to that “magical thinking” paper. If there are future historians, as we goad Russia toward nuclear war, a lot of attention will be given to how the USA used Ukraine against Russia just like how it used Afghanistan against the Soviet Union, but that obvious situation will surely not be handled fairly by Wikipedia any time soon, as it has degenerated into an imperial propaganda rag.

Similarly, one of the most infamous foreign policy documents in American history is one of the first, authored by the “father of our country,” George Washington. More than 20 years ago, I wrote about his letter to the Continental Congress that advocated swindling the Indians out of their land with fraudulent treaties, which became official American policy until there was no more land to steal. The letter is in Washington's own hand, as he engineered history’s greatest swindle. It is hard to deny it, and I provided multiple scholarly sources that discussed it. To this day, it is not presented at Wikipedia. In 2007 somebody at Wikipedia noted this glaring omission and cited my work on the subject. At the time, there was literally nothing in Washington’s Wikipedia bio that dealt with the Indian issue, and swindling the Indians out of their land was Washington’s greatest achievement.

Call me surprised, but a few years ago, it seems because of this book, there was finally some discussion of Washington’s Indian policy. Wikipedia still never discussed that landmark letter, but at least it quoted that author’s book some. But sometime in the past few years, Wikipedia’s editors have watered down that section. What was once a frank discussion has eroded to a quote by the book’s author, buried in a mass of discussion that denies it. The author, Colin Calloway, devoted a section of his book to Washington’s letter, which should be Exhibit A in any discussion of Washington’s Indian policy, but I doubt that it will ever be presented at Wikipedia. Other than that paragraph on Calloway’s statements on Washington, the rest of the section stressed how fairly Washington tried to deal with the Indians. That kind of spin-doctoring is typical of Western propaganda. The unsavory facts get scant mention, if at all, while the virtues of the swindlers are extolled. This is how “history” is made.

I went to a grammar school named after the Hitler of California, who was literally sainted several years ago. At Wikipedia, the section on his genocidal policies naturally led with excuses for his behavior and how he tried to treat the Indians well and the section ends with a defense of him. So, the first and last words at Wikipedia are supportive of his sainthood.

Maybe because he never visited what became the USA and was arguably the first icon to fall, the Wikipedia article on Columbus was far better, and could even be argued to deal with his prodigious crimes somewhat fairly. Columbus unleashed history’s greatest genocide. Let’s have a national holiday for that!

For current events, the deaths caused by the “enemy” are mentioned more than 25,000 times as often as “ours” are. That is how our “free press” operates.

    Best,

    Wade

    Hi:

Before Santa comes down my chimney, I hope to have drafted the First Epoch chapter of my coming essay. This post will be a little preview, and an exercise in gathering my thoughts in preparation for writing it. I have decided to draw the line on the beginning of the First Epoch to when the human line began to make stone tools, which is currently placed at 3.3 million years ago (“mya”). There had been bipedal apes for millions of years by that time, and the first stone-tool makers had brains a little larger than a chimp’s, maybe a third larger (500 CCs compared to 360 CCs). But those tools were made around when the “runaway” growth of the human line’s brain began. A million years later, Homo habilis used and may have invented the Oldowan tool culture, and its brain was about 600 CCs. A few hundred thousand years later, Homo erectus appeared on the evolutionary scene, and that is the first indisputable member of our genus, its brain was about 1,000 CCs, and it was the inventor of the Acheulean tool culture, about 1.7 mya. A Homo erectus could have passed as a modern human, with some facial prosthetics.

Charles Darwin wrote that the two greatest inventions of humanity were the control of fire and the development of language. 20 years ago, the invention of language was thought to have happened around the so-called Great Leap Forward into behaviorally modernity about 60,000 years ago, and the control of fire was considered to have been less than a million years ago. Back in 2009, after reading Richard Wrangham’s Catching Fire, and his argument for the control of fire happening maybe 2 mya, I began wondering about that period, between 2 and 1.5 mya, and thought that scientists were likely giving our distant ancestors far less credit than they deserved. So, it has been gratifying to see in recent years that the control of fire and invention of language are now being set in the 1.5-to-2.0 mya time frame, which is also when those humans migrated past Africa into Eurasia.

What is really fascinating about these recent hypotheses is that they seem interrelated. When those tools were made 3.3 mya in Africa, it coincided with the first megafauna extinction: giant tortoises. They had a global distribution 3 mya, but their defensive strategy proved useless to stone-wielding apes, who were able to just pound through the shells. Plants and animals developed the strategy of growing large, for offence and defense, but those large bodies represented a lot of stored energy, and when humans arrived on the scene the large plants (trees) and animals (megafauna) were doomed. The giant tortoises of Africa were the first casualties of that holocaust. The only reason why giant tortoises are alive today is that the Galapagos Islands and some of the Seychelles Islands were uninhabited. If humans had made it to those islands before Europe conquered the world, we would only know about giant tortoises from their fossils.

Acheulean hand axes are the earliest surviving artifacts that we might say are the product of craftsmanship. I posted recently on the similarities of making Acheulean hand axes and kindling a fire. The process looks virtually identical, and even the rocks are the same, as flint is a predominant hand axe source rock, and it is also used to kindle a fire by striking it against ubiquitous iron pyrite rocks. Nobody is disputing that the earliest hand axes were made about 1.7 mya. I find it incredibly hard to believe that it took another million years or more for humans to learn how to make a fire.

On the language front, scientists have proposed that language would have likely been invented by parents who taught their children complex tasks. Making a hand ax and kindling a fire seemed to be natural activities for that, and in recent years, scientists have been making those exact arguments (1, 2). I think that they are onto something.

So, at this time, I think it very likely that between 2.0 and 1.5 mya:
    • Homo erectus appeared on the evolutionary scene;
    • Invented language to socially learn complex tasks such as making hand axes and kindling fires;
    • Which allowed the ground-sleeping Homo erectus to migrate to the farthest reaches that it could.

It looks like about 1 mya, Homo erectus began building boats of some kind, which allowed them to migrate to some islands. It is also likely that even before Homo erectus appeared, australopiths or Homo habilis had migrated past Africa, so some of the above feats Homo erectus may have inherited, even the control of fire.

As with every Epoch of the human journey, it is primarily a story of energy, intelligence, and tools.

    Best,

    Wade
