I think Gateway was one of the various names used for the Fort Meade Remote Viewing program that Ingo Swann invented.

I bought some hemi-sync tapes from a book store a long time ago they were from the monroe institute Gateway program.
I don't rememberthat term being used by Ingo swan, I have not read him as extensively as I have Robert Monroe. I was pleased to see Itzhak Bentov and his book Stalking the Wild Pendulum mentioned, that was one of the first books I read after having a life changing experience in 1979.
There is an illustration of the brain and the homunculus straight out of that book. What I find most interesting about this paper is the disscussion of hypnotic states. These states, and meditation induces a more controlled (probably milder) version of the state can be used to both program, and deprogram the subconscious, and I think to a lesser extent various biological functions.
The focus on out of body experiences, and remote viewing, and the fact that the CIA was so interested in this is probably the most interesting part of it all. The most effective deprogramming and healing techniques do not produce out of body experiences, they allow you to sink more fully into the body and face your programs more directly, but gently. The body is here for a reason, and the path to full awareness is into and through it till you experience what has been within and all around it, and every other object in the universe.

Techniques that separate your encapsulated "spiritual" consciousness from your body can very possibly (and in my opinion have been used down through time), be used to implant belief and habit patterns. So I wonder if this document is actually an accurate record of a real program, or something that was put together to send people in certain directions who were looking for the truth about themselves. So was there some sort of control exerted on the Monroe institute by the intelligence community? This is exactly the claim made by certain ex members of the Church of Scientology, that it was infiltrated by the government and taken over by it. The COS processes often resulted in extreme out of body states, and the goal was at one time to produce a being who was stably exterior to the body, the extreme controlling behaviors of that group may very well be linked to this set of phenomena.
Partial answers are always so frustrating, but it seems that we need to accept that is all we may ever have no matter how far we go.

Do not under estimate what the CIA NSA can do. Just pray non stop that they are destroyed or stopped because what they can do in many areas, you would be shocked. They do not want you loving, they can use frequencies out of your conscious level to attack you. I believe in Omni here and I would do anything loving to avoid them getting at you.

I read one of Ingo Swan*s books...the dark side of the moon. Very interesting. And yes, the CIA and others did work with remote viewing a lot...they still do ..I think...

The monroe institute CD`s ...I had 2 or 3 of them...but gave it up ....to much manipulation for me.....But remote Viewing and what the Monroe Institut does..is not really the same... The Institute works with electronic stimulations to try to reach certain levels of consciousness. Ingo didnt use any electronic tools for his remote viewing, as far as I know and I read in his book.....

One time in particular, however, I became very aware while doing the remote viewing session of hemi-sync of being in an interrogation room with a two way mirror, cot and a desk. A very loud voice boomed, "He's here."

I've also practiced consciously (and unconsciously) remote viewing for over 20 years. this was not scary, but a very really experience. there were two people on the other side of the glass, and we were just aware of each other. they knew I knew I was free, but i do think there was some sort of trap sprung, for what its worth.

I stayed in the room a while, but never felt trapped but could not penetrate beyond the mirror. i left very easily and re-centered.

Annie Jacobsen's book, "Phenomena" gives the story of some of it's origins and the whos and what's involved.

Indeed, towards the end of certain programs, it was probably realized that better results could be obtained by allowing individuals to make use of their own inertia, rather than force things in a certain direction. There was probably already evidence by that point of how these different approaches would lead to different "quantum field effects", and that better outcomes would be only possible when not getting in the way by "over-measuring" everything.

In the end, I am not overly concerned about the reality of having only partial answers about these programs, since it became clear to me after enough research that they had truly reached their course, and any ongoing efforts beyond a certain point would have needed to "externalize" those efforts, casting them (so to speak) into the probability matrix, and supporting naturally evolving progress in that externalized space indirectly.

The best results were, after all, only possible by focusing entirely on developing the mind in this form of capability, and not putting it to work prematurely in any sort of way.
