Thanks for this Ben. Edgar Cayce, the 'Sleeping Prophet' channeled much information about the last polar shift 12,900 years ago, and what happened when the planet rolled over is that the oceans didn't move in conjunction with the land masses, and so tidal waves built up as the continents dived under the oceans and swept over the land masses, sometimes 5 miles deep. This is why the arctic circle became deposited with jumbled up trees and mastodons and other creatures of that era hundreds of meters deep where they are still finding them to this day. This was the true nature of the flood which was written of later on. (And not 40 days of rain...from where?) Anyway, there is much known already if one digs deep and goes completely off the narative the controllers wish us to be on. Edgar Cayce's healing work often told tales of Atlantis as sources of medical problems of humans in the present day. That cataclysm was caused by ignorant warlike scientists bent on destroying a land mass not in existence today, but the tractor-beamed asteroid they tried to target another country with hit them instead, and turned the earth over. It impacted the Laurentide Ice sheet and Atlantis, destroying the whole world as it existed then. It took 5000 years for the atmosphere to fully clear and be healed."

(Update: I think I need to retract where I wrote "I think he meant "12,000". Cayce reported that there were several different events that took down Atlantis and its colonies at different times, so the 12,900 estimate may actually have been accurate for that particular event.
That doesn't mean that there wasn't also a naturally occurring solar cycle event 12,000 years ago, however.
It likely just wasn't simultaneous with the human-caused disaster. )

As the world turns (CBS soap opera, 1956-2010):

For most of my life, until recent years, I've disparaged the idea that the earth could substantially change it's poles or rotation. Spinning balls don't change their spin without something pushing them, and nothing in the "classic" (main stream science for the last century) gravitational model of the solar system provided any such sufficiently substantial push.

However in recent years, I've changed my understanding, towards electromagnetic forces being the dominant force shaping our universe, from atoms to galaxies and beyond.

Ben Davidson of Suspicious Observers, as onawah has been posting above, has been one of the several key researchers I've been following.

Inspired in good part by Ben's work, here's how I think this 12,000 year polar reversal might go down, in the lifetime of many of us here. There are several moving parts, so it gets a bit involved.

It will be epoch, to say the least.

As with most star and galactic systems, our Milky Way galaxy forms a complex and immense magnetic structure, which has two halves, and upper and lower, separated by what we presently call a "current sheet", that ripples above and below the equatorial plane of the galaxy. Such ripples are sometimes called Parker spirals, after Eugene Parker's work.

Here's a typical image of a mathematical model of such rippling spiral shapes, this for our solar system, but I figure that the galactic "current sheet" is similar.



Our galaxy's equatorial current sheet is apparently currently rippling over our solar system, some 12,000 years above then some 12,000 years below.

This shifts the dominant magnetic field within which our solar system finds itself every 12,000 or so years, thus collapsing, reversing and rebuilding our own solar system's similar (albeit much smaller) fields, in turn collapsing, reversing and rebuilding our planet's fields.

There are two distinct "parts" of our physical planet earth, in terms of how they react to this field reversal:

1) the "crust" - a relatively thin surface layer, and
2) what I'll call here the "core" - all the rest of our planet's mass, beneath the crust.

The "core" reacts like a magnetized spinning billiard ball in a shifting magnetic field, flipping and reversing its spin if the applied field reverses.

The "crust" is usually stuck to the "core" and, being much the smaller part of it all, goes where the "core" goes.

But when the sun erupts in a micro-nova (see events below), this juices the earth with enough energy to liquify the bond between the crust and the core, and the crust, thanks to its larger diameter, has sufficient rotational mass and inertia to overcome its weaker inherit magnetism, to shift it's heaviest portions toward the equator (the plane of rotation).

So here's the events as I suspect they might go down:

The solar system, and hence the earth, are already moving into the galactic "current sheet", as already evidenced by the weakening and increasingly shifting magnetic fields and poles.

The galactic magnetic field applied to our solar system weakens and goes to zero.

When this galactic field goes to zero, our sun goes dark ("three days and three nights" ?), for it is essentially a giant light bulb powered by the galactic fields. Dust and debris fall in toward the dark sun, which is no longer sufficiently energetic to push such away.

The galactic magnetic field as applied to our solar system begins to build up in the opposite direction, as will apply to us for the next 12,000 years.

The sun "reignites" in a micro-nova, blowing off any dust or debris that started to fall into it.

This solar micro-nova re-ignition is highly energetic, perhaps boiling oceans on the side of earth facing the sun at the time. Most electrical equipment will be destroyed by this. The debris blown off the sun blasts us here on earth perhaps a half day later, causing a great meteor storm here on earth, and more destruction.

The energy from this micro-nova also liquifies the bond between the crust and the remaining core. As the new reversed magnetic field gains strength, the earth's core begins to spin up in the opposite direction, under its influence. Meanwhile the earth's crust shifts its poles 90 degrees, because the heaviest part of the crust, the giant ice caps near its poles that built up over the prior 12,000 years naturally shift toward the faster spinning equator. Then the bond between the crust and core cools enough to resolidify, and the crust gets jerked into rotating whichever way, and however fast, the core is spinning.

Since much of the volcanic and deep earthquake activity on our planet originates from this boundary layer between the crust and core, there is a great rise in such volcanic and earthquake activity. The skies turn dark with all the dust, even after the sun reignites, and all the clouds of boiled up ocean water begin to be seeded by that dust, raining back down ("forty days and forty nights"?) across the planet.

These sudden shifts in the axis and rate of the crust rotations send the oceans sloshing up over the land. A large body of water, such as the Pacific, might wash over one or two thousand miles of a continent, at hundreds of miles per hour, over the highest mountain ranges.

Many humans, many entire species, will die. Some will live, but will have to learn how to continue living by more primitive means and in local communities.

By all that Ben Davidson and others have been telling us, the new poles will be in the Indian Ocean, below Thailand or there abouts, and off what is now the west coast of South America, near Ecuador or thereabouts. You'd better stock up on winter coats, Bill <grin>.

The current greatest accumulations of ice on our planet, Greenland and Antarctica, will be on the new equator. Over the coming thousands of years, most, though perhaps never all, of their ice will melt.

A great ice age of perhaps a thousand years will follow, as the solar system and our earth rebuild their energy and fields in the new orientation.

As an aside, I notice that there are 12 signs of the Zodiac ... and we spend about 1,000 years in each sign. Perhaps that is not a conicidence, as the Zodiac signs reflect the orientation of our planet's orbit within the stars and constellations near our solar system, which may well shift back and forth on the same cycle, 12,000 years in each half cycle. So perhaps humanity enters the Age of Aquarius (the water sign) every time these great floods occur, as part of the 90 degree polar shift and 180 degree rotational reversal. Is that why it's called the Age of Aquarius?

If I was younger, had the means, and had a large family (I quite lack all three) I might seek out, or build, a large cave in North Dakota or the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, where we could take shelter during the worst of the storms and the micro-nova, and equip it with seeds and hand tools and knowledge to carry on for the following generations. That area is far enough from great bodies of water that it will likely avoid the sloshing oceans, and close enough to the new equator that it might avoid the mile thick ice cover of the coming ice age and support hunting, gathering and crop growing. It's also in the middle of the great North American Plate, a piece of the earth's crust that has been (not entirely but) relatively stable and free of volcanoes and earthquakes for a very long time.

Here's why more advanced alien races might find earth interesting.

Our earth is, presently:

• big enough to hold large expanses of water and ice on its surface,
  
• small enough to not be a proto-star,
  
• at the right distance from its (our) sun to have much of its surface H2O as liquid water, not as ice, while still having immense build ups of ice at its magnetic poles,
  
• in a single star system, not a dual star, so over centuries of time has very predictable day and night, warm and cold, cycles,
  
• near the rippling galactic "current sheet" so that it, and its sun, traverses across that sheet every 12,000 years or so, into the reversed magnetic field on the other side,
  
• when it gets perturbed dramatically, as the core reverses its rotation and its crust shifts 90 degrees from the weight of its polar ice caps, each time the solar system moves to the other side of the galactic current sheet, to our galaxy's opposite polarity magnetic field.

These dramatic perturbations wipe out any species that has become "overly optimized" for the current environment, be that:

• the dinosaurs who needed regular abundant food to support their immense weight (which became increasingly impractical, as the earth and its gravity continued to expand over the eons), or,
  
• now, the "elite bastards", whom we suspect are agents of outcast alien races ... weeds planted by criminals ... who are already even now failing, losing their grip, dying, and/or leaving our planet, unable to adapt to the increasingly rapid changes, as earth once again travels across the galactic current sheet.

We are in a garden of life - with cycles of stability and cycles of great change - in a location that's well suited to support interesting, both by natural evolution and selection, and by plantings and refinements of "the Gods" (be that the hand of the divine spirit many call "God", or be that the hand of more advanced alien races that find earth to be a location well suited for a "garden of life", or be that a distinction without a difference).

Water plant life evolves roots, trunks, limbs and leaves to grow on land.

Water animal life evolves legs and stronger musculature and skeletons to walk on land.

Both evolve more adaptive and intelligent variants that can survive the 12,000 year drama.

Animal life becomes warm blooded, to survive greater temperature changes.

Some of that life in turn evolves or is adapted or is placed here (in this Garden of Eden) is more intelligent, then more spiritual, forms, who can

• build tools and shelters and clothing,
  
• mine the minerals for tool making,
  
• expand agriculture to support great populations,
  
• mine or drill for sources of energy to support great industry,
  
• refine individually and collectively their intelligence, physics, astronomy, biology, engineering, and computing,
  
• all while their spiritual awareness increasingly enables them to discern and cast out the oppressive tyrants, the outcast "weeds" and "weed planters" of more advanced civilizations.
