This was just before my 2nd birthday, and while I don't remember the day, I think I remember the day after. I woke up after my mother, which was unusual. I had the sense that yes, something hard for them had happened the day before and the world was not the same. I wasn't supposed to touch the television, but I did know how to turn it on and did so. I was interested because their was an airplane on the TV. My mother woke up, looked at the TV and said that was the Vice President walking off the plane, and then remarked that maybe he was now the president (she was correct, he had just been sworn in.) I had no idea what had been happening in the last day, but I could sense that something was very wrong and that it was a time of sadness.

I was 20 and at work at an insurance company. I remember it very well...absolutely unprecedented. I remember the riderless horse, John John, in particular, and other details of the funeral. As Bob Seger says, I wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then.... Diane

Thank you for this post. JFK and his demise has always been a subject of interest for me. The conspiracy of course. Memories of the 5th grade class being let out early and the teachers crying. Also seeing Oswald being shot. My uncle saying 'they're trying to shut him up' and me not understanding the implications at the time.

    Great portrait.

I do remember it. Like Doug, I was enrolled in a Catholic school, where Kennedy, a Catholic, was more than "the president", he was "the first Catholic US president." I know it was a national shock, but I don't know if the vibe of tragedy was amplified in my Catholic surroundings - I suspect it was.

The JFK hit (the kill shot being delivered by James Files, shooting a "Fireball" gun with special mercury loads, from the 'grassy knoll') was my entry into the rabbit hole. I now see it as the Deep State (the unelected major political players behind the curtain, not the mixed-up notion that the Democrat corporate-political party is the Deep State) stepping into the daylight. The real rulers of the USA-centric Empire orchestrated a broad daylight hit of "the most powerful person in the world." There were a thousand ways they could have killed him off-camera, but it sent a message - like sticking your enemy's head on a pole in the center of the village.

Me too, high school let out early, teachers and students crying in the hallway. Walked home with a girlfriend, in shock.
We stopped for a Coke on the way, but were much too numb to enjoy it, like everyone else in the restaurant, apparently.
My poor, beleaguered, husbandless working mom was more depressed than usual, but didn't seem to feel it was going to make much difference in her life at the time. Little did she know...

Grammar school, a teacher came into our class and told our teacher to turn on the TV, and then we were plugged into the live coverage until sent home early.

Discovered alt.conspiracy.jfk usenet feed in the early internet days before web-pages, got my conspiracy researcher start there.

It was a Friday afternoon, like today, and I was studying for college final exams in the student union, and the campus was empty, but someone came into the room and said Kennedy had been shot. I immediately wanted to talk with my estranged, foreign boyfriend, who lived close to campus, but didn't do so. A year later he told me that he was flying home over Alaska when the captain announced it over the intercom.

I was further shocked when I heard that in some Southern schools the students all clapped when they heard about the assassination. I believed that wouldn't happen if we only had a national public radio station. Now we have NPR and the propaganda on that channel is horrific. Of course, I didn't know then about the shadow government, or how our own government officials were involved in killing the president.

I think Phil Schneider stated that someone in the car, I believe the driver, turned around and shot him.

The driver stopped. Why? there would be no reason to stop... why was he net questioned right off the bat?
Now we know all those years later.

Everyone has their story of that day..

I was not even in the US but remember it distinctly.

Not the day per se but that night when I got back to my lodgings
    after a 10 hour day on construction/buildings,
    zombie-like and really tired

My room mates had turned the radio on which was unusual.
When I walked thru the door I sensed that something was wrong

They told me that President Kennedy had been shot.
I reacted like a zombie would.

Over the decades since I have learned much as the world has.
    Things have changed a lot.
We now know more about the manipulators who thought they
had a monopoly on the entire human race.

Sorry to disappoint (you's} but your day is coming, and soon.
Question Everything, always speak truth... Make the best of today, for there may not be a tomorrow!!! But, that's OK because tomorrow never comes, so we have nothing to worry about!!!

Catholic school, 3rd Grade. My teacher was in shock. Very quiet. My oldest sister had died 4 years earlier and her close friends were my teachers in the next 2 grades I was to be in at the school. I remember hearing them, seeing them later that day and feeling their sudden shock and disorientation.

I remember them that day, singling me out with a lot of attention, which was unusual but I understood the connection, as if the two deaths were connected. Their attention the next two years gave me strength, as if it was fulfilling a commitment they had made to the memory of my amazing sister.

Remembering those people who leave early and so unexpectedly has imprinted on us how intentionally inhumane those in power can be. At those times the imprint to understand, to truly know all of the motivations of those perpetrators who caused those heartbreaking deaths, becomes deep set in the core of our beings. Their memory often sparks a deeper sense of purpose that carries itself into our own personal lives, as it did in this case, in mine.

After JFK's murder we all found out, at different rates and in different but convergent timelines, the truth of who, when, how and why those worst of crimes were created.

In my case, details my many brothers and sisters likely do not know, I found the true origins of my eldest sister's passing. It too was caused by a hierarchy of the needs of those who place human life as secondary to their control of others, of public policy and the extension of their greed.

While my sister was in remission from her Hodgkin's Disease she suddenly got extremely ill and soon after died. Because I was so emotionally connected to her well being as I grew up, I was becoming more and more comfortable having her guidance, her friendship and her loving presence. No other older brother or sister was anyone like her, at all.

When she left me and this life I was numbed and very alone. It was only my independence that kept me here. Her presence had an impact on me, deep inside me and later on aided me in the way I have investigated those unjust things I had to uncover. That spark of awareness about injustice, created by the power of the love we have lived and the loves we have missed, carries a profound imprint in many of us.

Many years later, while investigating the origins of disease and the purpose of using vaccines, which caused more disease than they were sold to prevent, I had an insight into asking my mother about the months before my angelic sister died. I asked her if my sister was given a polio vaccine before she died, and if it was given to her just at the time she was getting healthier, many months into the remission of her illness. My mother was quiet for a bit, then she asked why i had asked the question.

I told her that I was studying the SV40 origins of the polio vaccine and the life-ending admonitions of Jonas Salk that the use of the vaccine had 'injured and killed more people than it had saved'. She then confided in me that she had always thought the vaccine was the cause of my sister's death because of how rapidly she, my mother's 1st born child, had so suddenly, after years of fighting the illness and had gradually gotten healthier, died. That distant look in my mother's eyes was cut short by her habit of deeply burying her emotional traumas.

I remembered my sister's love, her beauty, her warmth and her presence much more than a parent's loss, so I carried on.

I remember this and many other things when I begin any search into a truth. Hopefully I see the deeper cause of why inhumanity exists, beyond those things that end up as the cold truth.

The warmth of those experiences with those who have given us their best, their love, keeps us alive and present during our search for the truth, be it the most personal truth or the one that affects the course of a larger history.

No that was Bill Cooper. Hard to tell those old military guys apart. Same over-confident swagger...
