    Default Celebrity Crushes

Quite possibly the most frivolous, silly thread ever introduced on Avalon. My great hope is that someone will start a thread on the flat earth soon so I won't look like such an a$$hole.

Marion Cotillard, the brilliant and beautiful French actress is my celebrity crush, hands down. She's the world's greatest beauty, far as I'm concerned. I was certain she was in her late 20's, but she's actually a couple years older than me. She appears to have been preserved in ice.

On a scale of 1-10, I'd rank myself a 7 or so in terms of delusional fandom. To a man, I'd tell you that if I could only get in front of her for a few minutes, I might have a chance. That makes me a moderately unstable psycho on the one hand, but mostly just a harmless fool I think.

Depending upon how many beers I've had, my fantasy goes one of 2 ways. In one I'm irresistibly charming and funny ..and she hands her twat boyfriend her drink before wordlessly leaving with me, hand in hand, on a lovely walk thru Paris.

In the other I'm restrained by police officers as I approach her, and dragged away kicking and screaming as I yell something like, "But we're meant to be Marion! Can't you see that???"

My celebrity man crush is Michael Fassbender. That guy is the handsomest motherf#cker on the planet, no contest.

    So who's your celebrity crush?

I used to have celebrity crushes, but since I have become awake as to whom these people really are beyond the fame I find them "absolutely disgusting".

For example I wanted to watch my DVD of Batman a while ago starring Nicole Kidman, (I had crush on this sexy aussie red-head at one time), and knowing what I know of her now, see Fiona Barnetts experiences, I switched it off as seeing her made me feel sick.

Having said that there would be exceptions, whom I would admire for their bravery in maintaining their integrity in an industry that is blackened by all their evil deeds.

I just briefly googled the Kidman/ Barnett connection, which is a new one to me. It's interesting, to say the least, and highly disturbing ..but I'm not inclined to believe outrageous stories coming from the alternative media any more than I am the mainstream. I'd prefer to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I read Cathy O'Brien's testimony. And I found myself believing most of it, based on her full story. So I know this stuff goes on. But It's prudent to not lump all famous entertainers into one evil heap. Surely many of them are lovely people. If the mainstream media's problem is in delivering truth, the alt media's problem is in regarding nuance. We are a bit too eager to tag and label large groups of people based on things like profession, for example.

I'd bet the exceptions are the evil sorts. Most are likely solid, decent people. Fame obsessed, maybe. Attention whores, maybe. Self obsessed, maybe. But not ritual murderers and abusers.

    Now back to the frivolity...

    voices don't count.

and if you're going to declare a celebrity crush, you must be as vacuous and superficial as the rest of us. come on, pull yourself together man.

Bluegreen, that woman is striking. who is that?

another celeb crush of mine is Betty White. many people don't know this now, but as a younger woman she was every bit the beauty that marilyn or rita or ava or angie dickinson was.

i love that classic look. styles today baffle me. i notice women now are wearing these hideous 80's style jeans and cranking them up well past their bellybutton. it's a terrible look. it's how adolescent kids wear their pants to maintain diaper integrity

much of her attractiveness is also to do with her fearlessness and sense of humor and intelligence.

All my celebrity crushes come from when I was a kid. Of course there are modern actresses that are hot but I don't become infatuated in them anymore. Not sure why, I don't have anything against celebrities. Maybe it's a part of growing up? Anyway, that being said, in no particular order:

    Amy Jo Johnson (Pink Ranger)
Catherine Zeta Jones (the reason for this should be obvious for all 90s kids)
    Sandra Bullock
    Jewel (the singer)
Mila Jovavich (100% cause of the 5th Element)

Honorable mention goes to Rachael Ray.
Today is victory over yourself of yesterday. Tomorrow is your victory over lesser men.

All mine are past their primes and I probably wouldn't recognize the current stable:

    Marisa Tomei
    Mary-Louise Parker
    Kim Bassinger
    Meg Ryan
    Michelle Pfeiffer
Nicole Kidman (the only character actress, as good as Meryl Streep)
Gwyneth Paltrow (somewhere between character actress and leading lady)

    It's a good list sir.

I think a woman is at her peak of sexiness when she's just a little past what would be recognized as her physical prime. ..when she's just beginning to show some signs of wear and tear. I think she's at her most attractive then.

Marisa Tomei is like that. She may not be at her most beautiful these days, technically speaking, but she's at her most sexy, in my expert opinion.

OK, I confess, I've had celebrity crushes too.
    James Dean was my first

    Now it's Henry Cavill.
Unlike James Dean, who I think I would have liked as a person, I have no idea what Cavill is really like, though he seems like a nice guy, and he is certainly a handsome hunk.

    Thumbs up Re: Celebrity Crushes

My personal "celebrity crush": Kate Beckinsale imdb (authentic, intelligent, mysterious, she knows who she is (self-confident without being cocky/arrogant), intriguing, sensitive, to me it feels like she has eyes of an ancient soul).

ps: I have watched all her movies!

just superficially speaking anyway, kate beckinsdale is as close to perfect as you can possibly get.

she's that rare woman who is equal parts beautiful, sexy, cute, and adorable. england's best export since the beatles.

if i were to offer a criticism, it would be that she tries maybe a little too hard to prove she's sassy or something. we get it kate, you're beautiful *and* spunky...cute *and* witty. she might overplay her hand that way so she's not viewed thru the lens of her beauty all the time, so i get it. but it just feels a little affected to me.

but that's about the worst thing i can say about her.

when she appears on tv sets in pubs across the world, there is a chorus of drunk men singing the same tune..that they'd chop their arm off for a chance to..(something something...)

she's on my celeb crush list too. i don't care how many illuminatti ceremonies she's been to

henry cavill is a gorgeous man, but a bit stiff for my liking. i find his handsomeness to be just a little bit too generic.

To me at my age this is totally ludicrous.

Way back then it was "cool" not now.....!
Question Everything, always speak truth... Make the best of today, for there may not be a tomorrow!!! But, that's OK because tomorrow never comes, so we have nothing to worry about!!!

    Default Re: Celebrity Crushes

I can't imagine James Dean NOT being on anyone's celebrity crush list.

As for Henry...well....he's British, you know......so not as stiff as he might be, considering that.
He's ridiculously handsome, but that's kind of what is so interesting; you can't help but wonder how that would affect a person, even a celebrity.
As Amy Adams says here, "It's too bad about his face":
(She really shines in that interview, btw; if I were a guy, I think she'd be one of my crushes.)
Anyway, I'd say it takes a certain amount of aplomb to pull this off:

henry cavill is a gorgeous man, but a bit stiff for my liking. i find his handsomeness to be just a little bit too generic.
