    Default Gathering rain water

When the normal water supply is interrupted for any reason, it will be necessary to have water stored. Having clean water is critical. Without clean water you may not need anything after 3 days. Here is an inexpensive and easy way to use a tarp and bucket to harvest rain water.

Filter the water before you consume it. I think the Berkey is a good choice, but there are many to choose from.

I prefer SAWYER water filters, but you could just as easily filter the water with a Millbank bag, then boil for four minutes (you really only need to bring it to a boil to kill the nasties)

Or learn how to make a filter,

Yes...what's on internet...and I combine his main idea of water having memory, with Schauberger's work and Spurling's tensor rings and Reich's orgone and Winter's phase conjugation and Vogel's crystals and Chester's chestahedron and Evans's trion-re and Kozyrev's mirror and many others.

Every day new ideas of combining these technologies in attempt to find more solutions to overall all kind of pollutants that affect our lives and nature and Earth...a lot of work...a lot of changes and improvements

Clear ice is made by stirring or moving the water while it freezes. An ice sculpture carver taught me all there is to know to get perfect transparant ice. What looks white in the picture in post 3 is nothing but trapped air.

And how by stirring or moving water while it freezes can trap air inside and to have that form like in that picture?

Snow looks white because of the air trapped inside. Glaciers look blue because the air is pressed out.
Frozen water can look green as well. It depends on how the water freezes.
But on topic. The most important thing to remember; let it rain out. After ten minutes of rainfall the clouds have lost chemicals dust and whatever pollution was in the sky and then rainwater is save to drink!

Dear Ayt get a cat as a pet. A cat is a saveguard for water and food.
A dog might be a companion, but anything a dog eats or drinks might kill you.
It may be hard to chew on a mouse but NOTHING your cat eats or drinks can harm you.
The things dogs eat and drink might kill you instantly!

The construction of a well would be wonderful. But it must be taken into account:
    - a specialized company with high performance machines in drilling that will also strengthen the bottom of the well
    - where the groundwater can be found in the area (it can be up to 40 m deep), the deeper the better.
    - water tested at an accredited institute
    - a submersible pump.
I have a large fountain (1.7 inside diameter / 14 meters deep) but I have 3 large springs that supply it since 1923 since its construction in marble stone (it was a marble exploitation here in the area many years ago) .The water is cold, sweet and nourishing and before I drink it, I thank the water and springs for nourishing me (probably it has to do with the properties of marble stone).
And all this to be just human.

If you cannot afford expensive water filters and filtration systems, perhaps you could afford some Betadine. Four drops per liter is all that is needed.

Catching and storing gutter rain water seems to be a very important now and is my next prepping project. Stored water is critical when the grid goes down. If you have food you will need to flush or have a composting toilet.

How will you wash your hands?

Rain water will be diverted into one or more cattle watering tubs. It easy to dip water using a bucket to flush or add to a water filter for drinking and cooking. Years ago when living in a small cabin without running water I used a large cattle watering tub to store water. In the winter the ice was easily broken to get access.

Storage containers left out in freezing weather can be damaged by expanding ice. Five gallon plastic buckets will not survive.

This Rubbermaid 150 gallon, $150 all weather livestock watering tub is what I used when living in the cabin. I'll be using it again.
