I believe it is The Age that is out of touch, that was a disgraceful act on their part, it played out like one of the man's more ironic cartoons, you can picture it a room with a panel of morally correct types, looking smug and disapprovingly on Mike Leunig. This is a sad, deeply wrong action.

Of course it is. In medieval times, the Court Jester was always the one who gave wise advice to the King — and was able to because they'd never get executed for their quirkiness, which was an integral part of their customary role.

Comedians, in every culture other than totalitarian ones, have always been the untouchables who get to point things out that others can't say.
