Default My oddball post: THE BLUE LAGOON

I watched the Blue Lagoon today. I had seen it many moons ago and it came on recently.

    https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080453/

The movie is the height of beauty , expression of youthful bodies in full nudity, soft pristine and unmarked skin , innocence and discovery , and the pain and struggle of birth and life's realizations within a beautiful island setting.

But in todays world we see, this is seen as perversity. A naked butt or nipple need be blurred so the audience cant see it. God forbid should you see a nipple. Perhaps you will run out and rape people! God forbid you enjoy and relish in human beauty.

But you see, you can show a breast or a butt, as long as its associated with blood and violence. You cannot kiss a nipple, but you can damn well cut one off. Thats fine . No censorship needed there. No limit to defiling and debasing the human body when associated with sickness , killing and violence

God what has happened to us ? Who lead us down this path ? Who tooled this society into buying into this ? Accepting this?

Perhaps we will see the day when a sunset or rainbow will be taken from our eyes as well.

Im glad I don't have that long to go here. Operation Covid is providing "a quickening" in our collective insanity. We will be at each others throats soon enough.

    OR NOT?

I agree with you about the upside down inside out and backwards "collective" values coming to a head. Like a pimple, a boil, an icky infected pus filled wound. BUT pus is a sure sign of fighting infection and the "body" is so able to deal with these issues. I have faith in the "body" fractal from large to tiny.

We have been dealing with social horror of values distorted for all of historic memory. For instance, It never made sense that children had to arrive through ONLY selected approved means and LOVE with sexual expression is otherwise made an "evil" to be socially punished. It never made sense that the bounty and extraordinary wisdom of nature is denied, that faux reproduction of experience is preferred over REAL experience.... SO MANY peculiar nonsensical responses to being alive?

MAYBE the excruciating hideousness of the extreme perversity will slap our faces and we will "come to"? AT LEAST some of will come through these "times" knowing that we have crystallized our rejection of insanity. I will keep my focus on my certainty of what is true. I will love creation and consciousness and its appearance upwelling in the shattering of a VERY UGLY matrix.

I KNOW we are in a illusion and that free will is the gift of Maya. "thoughts are things so choose the good ones" has never held so much power.

This is hypocrisy and double-standard is something that has really been exposed in the breastfeeding movement. A breastfeeding mother can show less skin that another woman wearing a low-cut blouse, but she has historically been vilified and banished to the restroom. But this is something many mothers no longer accept.

(I understand that horror at seeing a nursing mother is something that's much more likely to happen in the U.S. It's certainly not universal. Many cultures have never had that issue all!)

I think this in part has sparked additional push-back in my daughters' generation. I've noticed that a lot of girls simply do not tolerate that kind of thing--they are very quick to pull back that curtain of hypocrisy. Of course, there's ups and downs, but it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Sarah Rainsong/ thanks for your reply. Well what can be said. Seems all human nature , whats natural , has been marketed as unclean and needing to be sanitized .

I remember being on a beach in the french west indies many years ago and seeing adolescent children topless, having fun and enjoying their youth and freedom. No one thought anything of it including me.

Today that would be viewed as obscene . And we all seem to have adjusted to this new normal. Violence reigns in video games, music, film whatever.

I never really understood the fear of nakedness in western culture -- seems really bizarre to me. Its a bit like the authorities will not "allow" us to think innocently of it, perversion of the view of the human body appears important to them ... but I guess that is reflected in us as a society as well. Weird.

Agreed . This didn't just happen, this was engineered in my opinion.

It may(or not) have something to do with today’s overfeeding Our parents and ours generation from what I can see remained innocent till they grew up,
some of today’s kids are quite mature at the early age of 7.

Of course in that age everyone is perfectly confused about the meaning of their experience.

But from the time you can get excited by the very sighting of someone’s naked body to the time you can understand what is the energy about and good for, it’s a long way to go.

In my vision of pure world we all are perfectly genderless and naked.
But in this world of grave downfalls we seem to have adopted the shame and the covers as part of our psyche.

This will always cheer you up

While this is fully true, at a certain level of exposure, nakedness quickly gets "non-exciting", and then sexual energy is allowed to exist in its proper and purer form, without us seeking it out for mere gratification. Porn is not good, in the sense that it seeks to maximize the effect of getting "sexual energy into the brain" where it is perverted by our egos.

Sexual energy should be relegated to our bodies, not our minds, as our ego tries to push all aspects of itself into our minds, when it is really intended to be in the body. There, sexual energy is appropriate, and also feeds into creative expressions of other types ... Sexual energy IS creative energy, and back to the comments about this all being "engineered" - perhaps that is a link.

Thanks Dedukshin/ i agree, it gets old in a sense. Used and overindulged like any other drug or substance that alters or excites us.

My main gripe with the world we see today is that innocence has been trashed , perverted and misused by an adult business world and sold to a public that is bored beyond belief with its sexuality. And to tantalize its consumers, offerered a fresher fruit as Calvin Kline did on the sides of busses with 12-14 year olds with their skirts hiked up pretty high.
And that in turn puts the beauty of Blue Lagoon and it subject matter in an , out of bounds territory.

and I do use sexually energy in my creative life for sure.
