Default If a bird can fool us ?

    Hi everybody

Since Youtube advantageously in its evilness misguided my next step to click, I happened to land on this clip.

It's years old and I don't believe it , so please tell me it's not true ?
Maybe it's just me getting old and rusty

"A lyrebird is either of two species of ground-dwelling Australian birds that compose the genus Menura, and the family Menuridae. They are most notable for their superb ability to mimic natural and artificial sounds from their environment, and the striking beauty of the male bird's huge tail when it is fanned out in courtship display. Lyrebirds have unique plumes of neutral-coloured tailfeathers and are among Australia's best-known native birds."

    Enjoy

This Bird can copy the sound of everybody including Human - LyreBird( 1:21)

And all this to be just human.

Other recent crow research has identified over 100 words in the crow language. All of the caws have specific meanings especially when combined in their short bursts. Also, crows have great memories, can conspire with each other, and can remember human faces.

Lyrebirds are amazing! When we lived in the rainforest we often saw them around the house and heard their amazing calls. Now we hear them from a distance... still wonderful!

We have a resident raven similar sounding to the one in the video. I assumed it was a feline for a time, even going so far to be sympathetic to its calls until I witnessed its action with my own eyes along with the ears.

A neighbor had also told me in was a raven after I told him of hearing a cat cry next door while out gardening. I thought he hadn't heard what I heard or thinking he was pulling my leg somehow.

Personal discoveries while in nature are so much better than video.
