(The callous disregard of the brutal Chinese Communist Party for the people of China continues unabated.
I had not been following the news from China much until recently when the spotlight began to focus on the 3 Gorges dam, which appears to be in danger of imminent collapse. More on that starting here: https://projectavalon.net/forum4/show...=1#post1362704
But the reports of how the government is forcing people out of their homes in order to create new, more profitable developments is just as shocking in its own way as predictions of the massive damage the dam's collapse will bring.
Footage in this video of police in riot gear suddenly appearing in droves, tear gassing residents who were given next to no warning their homes would immediately be demolished.
Apparently that has been a common practice in poor communities, but now it is happening in more well-to-do communities as well.
If the collapse of the 3 Gorges would mean the end of the CCP's rule in China, probably even the Chinese people would welcome it, if there is no other way to oust the psychopaths.)

"China issues more flood warnings; Summer snow hits Xinjiang; Forced sterilization on China's Uyghurs
Beijing passed its national security law for Hong Kong, setting the stage for radical changes. According to the complete draft, the new law doesn’t just affect Hong Kong residents.
Hundreds of middle-class Beijing residents try to stop police from tearing down their homes. One expert says the move is an unusual one, as forced demolitions usually target those at the bottom of society.
The US is making a series of moves in the Indo-Pacific suggesting America might be taking real action to counter China’s coercive behaviors in the region and defend its allies.
In a strong move targeting China in the online space, India bans nearly 60 Chinese mobile apps. This is just the beginning of the anti-China sentiment in India.
And a new found strain of swine flu proving infectious to humans. A study says the strain has a potential pandemic threat, but experts warn not to overreact. "

(Thirty five more days of rain predicted for China in this video.)

"CCP officials are told to prepare for global crisis—including tensions with the United States, food shortages, currency wars, and others—and are being told to prepare “countermeasures”

Zhou Li, the former deputy minister of the CCP’s Central Liaison Department, tied to its political warfare programs, recently issued an article in China Social Science News stating “The Party Central Committee demands that our leading cadres at all levels ‘should adhere to the bottom line thinking and make a long-term ideological preparation and work preparation for responding to changes in the external environment."’

And a 400-year-old bridge was destroyed by the floods in Shanxi Town in Anhui, China, which had been built during the Ming Dynasty. The destruction of the second largest stone arch bridge in the region was one of the latest scenes in the ongoing floods in 26 provinces and cities in China. And in HuangShan, AnHui, JingdeZhen, ShangRao, Yichang, Changyang, and other parts of China the heavy rains continue to collapse roads and destroy homes.

These stories and more in this episode of Crossroads."

On the topic of the "3 Gorges Dam", when I first noticed this development back on 23 June, I immediately thought of the 1998 Maori prophecy posted on Stan Deyo's site.
Quote She said that there would be an event that was unrelated; but when this event happened, it would be a trigger for many major earth changes.... Again, this was to be in China; and it's a subject I know nothing about; so, please bear with me on this one. She said there was this "channel" there in China that they'd been working on for many years; and it was not yet complete. She said work had stopped on it for various reasons; then she told me that up above this "channel", there were 1000's of logs or timber that were perched at the top of this "channel"... Furthermore, over time, some had been stolen; but most were still there (she didn't say what they were to be used for, so it's a bit confusing for me). She said that soon these logs would come crashing down killing 1000's; and, when this happened, it would be a sign for her people that these Earth changes were about to happen with great intensity.

Does any of this make sense to you? Do you know of any such "channel" being built by the chinese? She said it had been started many years ago but never completed.
Quote Yes, the Maori Elder was aiming the message at me. The Chinese connection is a signal to me as well. I saw the doco on TV; and I know what she is talking about... It is the Three Gorges Dam Project in China which is to dam the Yangtze River. It will consume over 130,000 acres and stretch some 400 miles along the Yangtze. The trees are being cut and have been stockpiled for later uses including dikes.... The Green group, the US Gov't ... the World Bank - ALL have tried to stop this project as an environmental nightmare.... It has displaced 2 million Chinese from their homes...
When I consider "prophecy", I do not consider it written in stone, but rather as signals sent from outside time and space.
I kept this one tucked in the side pocket of my mind, should it ever become relevant in the future, just in case.
I happily co-create a balanced world culture harmonized with Infinite Intelligence. ~ edina (Renaissance Humanity)

Many dams discharged, Severe Flood Hit Southeast China | Three gorges dam | China flood | Hubei
    60,820 views•Jul 9, 2020
    China Observer - Vision Times

"Wuhan city, known to the world as epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak, is now suffering from ravages of flooding. Since June 8, Wuhan has had seven rounds of heavy precipitation. From July 4 to 6, the city suffered from continuous heavy rainfall, and a part of the city recorded over 420 mm of precipitation, marking the highest record of precipitation in Wuhan in a single day.

The upstream of the Yangtze River, including the Three Gorges Dam area and the Dongting Lake system, are also affected by heavy rainfall. According to Mainland China Media, the first flood peak reached the Three Gorges Reservoir at 10:00 on July 2 and the flood’s inflow rate was as high as 50,000 cubic meters per second.

On July 2, 2020, the Yangtze River No. 1 flood reached the Three Gorges reservoir area and the Three Gorges Dam opened 3 holes for flood relief. At 2:00 p.m. that day, the water level in the Three Gorges reservoir was 146.97 meters, the incoming flow was 53,000 cubic meters per second and the outgoing flow was 35,500 cubic meters per second.

In the evening of July 4, the water level in the Three Gorges reservoir had risen to 149.6 metres, which was 4.6 metres above the alert level. The water level in the Wuhan section of the Yangtze River reached 27.30 metre, exceeding the alert level as well. Wuhan's Hankou Riverbank Park was completely submerged under water about 2 meters deep.

The hardest-hit area, Hubei province, has already suffered six rounds of heavy rainfall since the start of the rainy season in early June. According to Chinese media, the cumulative average rainfall in Hubei Province was 363.9 millimeters until recently, which is higher than the average rainfall of previous years by 45%. The water levels in the province's five major lakes and 1,081 reservoirs all exceeded the flood control level.

According to Hubei Daily’s Sina blog, July 9 around 9 am, in Hu Bei province, the Vertical dyke of Yang xin fu river burst, the break length has reached 40 meters, causing economic losses of about 120 million RMB.

Not only does the Yangtze River basin suffer from massive floods, East China's largest Xin'an River Reservoir on Qian tang River has now exceeded the flood control limit as well. On July 8, the provincial government said that 7 floodgates on the dam had been opened to prevent dam rupture, however, the remaining 2 gates may also required to be opened in order to ease the pressure on the dam. Previously, there had never been a need to open all of the gates, so people are now worried about if this will affect the structure of the dam and cause further problems.

The famous Huangshan area in Anhui province was partially closed on July 6 due to severe road damage by the flood. According to a shop owner in the area, the flood was caused by a dam collapse at midnight on July 5 . An express highway to Huangshan was cut off by mudflow and flash floods, leaving a gap of seven to eight meters wide. The Tunxi Zhenhai Bridge, an important cultural relic built more than 400 years ago, was also destroyed by flooding.

Dr.Wang Weiluo, a renowned Chinese hydraulic expert who now lives in Germany, participated in the Territorial area planning of the Three Gorges Dam from 1980 to 1985. In his opinion, when the water level at the dam was 145 meters, parts of the Chongqing city was already submerged at 164 meters, and the city issued a Red or Orange Flood Alert. Therefore when the water level in the dam reaches its maximum level of 175 meters, the water level in Chongqing may be as high as 210 meters.

Chinese officials are now facing a pressing dilemma. In order to protect the safety of the upstream cities, the Three Gorges dam would need to be discharged, but that would call for the sacrifice of the downstream cities. Flooding in more than a dozen provinces downstream of the Yangtze is already severe, and the discharge of the Three Gorges Dam will likely exacerbate the situation. However, if the dam is not discharged, the questionable construction and engineering qualities of the dam and the accumulated environmental problems in the Three Gorges area could lead to major problems with the dam itself, including risks of collapse. A week ago, mainland authorities were secretly discharging the Three Gorges dam, which caused Yichang city, located downstream of the dam, to be rapidly flooded and local citizens were caught unprepared. Now, the Chinese government has finally openly announced that it had started to release floodwaters for the first time this year and a new wave of flooding is heading toward the Three Gorges catchment area."

"China’s biggest freshwater lake looks set for unprecedented flooding. Areas around the lake are already among the worst hit in recent weeks, and residents are fearing the worst.

China raised its flood response alert to the second highest level over the weekend. This, as heavy rain soaked regions along the Yangtze river.

Flooding is getting worse in some areas near China's famous Three Gorges Dam - the largest hydropower project in the world. Experts have warned that the dam is on the brink of collapse.

But it’s not just floods battering the country. Now, earthquakes are shaking some regions, too. Six quakes struck within two days, one even reaching a magnitude 5.1.

A video circulating on Chinese social media is causing concern over the country's food security. It alleges a grainery of a major state-run grain stockpiler is full of moldy, poor-quality corn.

And an exclusive. A former Chinese web-censor exposes the inside story of the Chinese regime’s infiltration into the free world. He takes us behind the scenes of censorship at social media giant TikTok.

The whereabouts of top CCP officials are still unknown — continuing a trend that started just ahead of news about the new virus outbreaks in Beijing and new lockdown measures.

"As this takes place, a large number of Chinese military vehicles were shown in videos on July 14 parked along the roadside in Wuhan, the epicenter of the new coronavirus, which has also now been hit by severe floods.

And the floods are also continuing, and the situation for the Chinese people is growing worse. In Jiangxi Province, the capital city, Nanchang City, was hit by massive floods. And in the surrounding counties, residents in towns and villages have been trapped by the floodwaters for close to 72 hours. Traffic and communications have been cut off.

THREE GORGES DAM COLLAPSE - FAILED DAMS UPSTREAM OF 3GD
    10,393 views•Jul 15, 2020

(THIS INDEPENDENT RESEARCHER SEEMS TO BE FAIRLY KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND HE SAYS THE INFO ABOUT NUCLEAR PLANTS IN THE PATH OF THE 3GD IF IT COLLAPSES IS FAKE NEWS. WHICH IS CERTAINLY A RELIEF! THERE IS ONE IN SHANGHAI THOUGH, WHICH COULD BECOME THE NEXT FUKUSHIMA...SEE PART 6 BELOW. HE GOES ON TO EXPLAIN WHY THE CCP'S DECISION TO BUILD DAMS DESIGNED TO GENERATE POWER BUT NOT TO CONTAIN FLOODING WAS A VERY BAD IDEA. I EXPECT HE WILL BE A SOURCE TO KEEP AN EYE ON.)

Infrastructure is crumbling globally. China seems to be particularly bad...but...I don't know how much info coming out about China is clean. Most of it is generated by media that is agenda driven. Doesn't mean some of it isn't true. I just can't tell. It's frustrating.

Agreed. I think this independent source I've just found is much more credible, though, and explains things very clearly.

This researcher is a stock trader, and he is closely watching China and estimating what damage the current crisis is going to cost their economy, and how it will affect global finances.
He's also debunking some of the official stories coming from the Chinese press, which is controlled by the CCP.
And offering a lot of other information for free about stock trading, the math and physics involved, and more.

I was going to add here that his accent is a bit distracting (he's from the UK, but I'm not sure where.)
I'd never heard anyone dropping "t", and he drops the "t" in "water", which sounds very funny to the unaccustomed ear.
But apparently a lot of other listeners beat me to it, and he remarks on it in this video.

"A second wave of floods is expected from the Yangtze River in China. At Wuhu Station on the river, the waters had reached 41.2 feet, which surpasses the highest alarm level by 4.5 feet, and is just less than a foot away from being its highest water level recorded in history.

Meanwhile, with the virus, Urumqi City of Xinjiang has been shut down as cases of the new coronavirus have allegedly begun to surge. Local traffic has already been shut down, and 90 percent of flights have been canceled.

And in Detroit, ICE officials in Homeland Security Investigations seized a web domain operated by China, LafoAuto.com, in an international investigation into arms trafficking. A statement from ICE says “HSI determined that more than 350 suppressors seized by law enforcement across the county were purchased from the website and smuggled into the United States from China as automotive parts.”

"Swarms of yellow-spined bamboo locusts have decimated large areas of farmland around the city of Pu’er in China’s southwestern province of Yunnan. Local authorities believe the crop-eating pests originated outside the province which borders Laos. Officials have deployed drones carrying pesticides in a bid to limit the spread of the insects which started to appear in late June 2020."

No. 2 Flood Struck The Three Gorges Dam | Can the dam really hold?
    407,137 views•Premiered Jul 19, 2020
    China Observer - Vision Times

"China Flooding 2020 Series: Part 6.
On July 18th, the Three Gorges Dam received the largest water inflow since the beginning of this year due to heavy rainfall in Chongqing, Sichuan, and other areas in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. According to China’s "Regulations on the Numbering of Major Rivers", this meets the standard for the flood to be assigned a number. The Three Gorges Dam water level has increased by 8.04 meters over the past two days.

After the Chinese official media reported on July 17th that the "Yangtze River Flood No. 2 of 2020" had formed in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the Three Gorges Reservoir's water level rose rapidly, rapidly reaching 61,000 cubic meters per second at 8 a.m. on the 18th. At 6 pm on July 18th, the water level in the Three Gorges reservoir had reached 163.59 meters more than 18.59 meters above the flood limit.

The Three Gorges Dam started discharging water in order to protect the infrastructure, and on July 18th, it opened five more floodgates, making it the largest flood discharge this year. The discharge flow has reached 36,000 cubic meters per second.

According to experts from the Yangtze River Hydrology Bureau, they expect that Flood No.2 will reach Wuhan city in 4-5 days. The water level of the Yangtze River in the Wuhan has risen well above Wuhan city’s ground level, making it a veritable hanging river. While the average elevation of the city of Wuhan is 21 to 27 meters, the water level of the Yangtze River, on July 17th, in Wuhan has already reached 28.38 meters. Currently, Wuhan city is only protected by a large embankment along the river, and a video shows that water was seeping through, and if it collapses, Wuhan residents will be submerged in 3 to 4 stories of floodwater.

According to news circulating on social media, the flooding was caused by the embankment collapse of ching River in Enshu. The ching River is a tributary of the Yangtze River and the water feeds into it from downstream.

Since the Yangtze River increased its flood discharge, water from the Ching River could not flow out, which led to a rise in water levels throughout the basin. Coupled with heavy rainfall and flash floods in the mountains, the basin turned into a severely flooded zone and embankments collapsed.

Due to flood peak No.1, orange level flood warnings were issued for the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River such as Dongting Lake area, and Poyang Lake area. Wuhu city’s emergency flood control response was raised to the highest warning level on the same day as well. A video taken by Chinese netizens on July 17th shows that flooding has reached residents in Anching, Anhui province, and citizens have to use zodiac boats to go home.

According to the rainfall forecast released by the Yangtze River Water Information Network, heavy rainfall is still expected in the Yangtze River Basin from the 17th to the 20th.

The 100 or so reservoirs in the Three Gorges Project and the Yangtze River basin, and major hydrological stations in Poyang Lake and Dongting Lake all carry out joint commands.

The official Chinese Vice Minister of Water Resources, Ye Jianchun, had stressed at a State Council policy press conference on July 13th that the Three Gorges Dam is effective in controlling flooding.

However, Reuters reported that David Shankman, a professor of geology at the University of Alabama who studies flooding in China, said that while one of the main reasons for building the Three Gorges Dam was to prevent flooding, in fact, the dam cannot stop floods as severe as this year's.

Fan Xiao, a Chinese geologist, also noted that the Three Gorges Dam reservoir holds less than 9 percent of the flood's volume. "The Three Gorges reservoir can only partially and temporarily intercept flooding upstream, but it can do nothing to stop flooding caused by heavy rainfall in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. "

He argued that the Three Gorges Dam and other major dam projects could make flooding worse by altering sediment flows in the lower reaches of the Yangtze river. The inherent need for engineered power generation for the dam also affects flood control. "When people only consider using reservoirs to solve flood control problems, they tend to ignore, or even undermine, the natural ability of rivers and lakes to regulate flooding."

Taiwan’s Sanli Press website reported on July 18th that the flooding was getting more and more intense, and the flow rate at the Three Gorges Dam reached 61,000 cubic meters per second at 8:00 p.m. on that day. The dam is expected to receive a new round of incoming water on the 21st, can the dam really hold?"
