Could the US be attacking China with weather weapons?

Idk if its just me but those are a lot of dams to break in the last month.

Plus a coal mining supply to flood in the middle of this energy crisis... shady
did you read about the enormous explosion at one of their factories in China? ... they claim it was a aluminum factory.

    Not at all ^^ Share!

I mostly follow military analysts about the situation in Taiwan (Daily airspace vulnerations etc...), but they throw little about economics.

We're having an aluminum supply shortage here in spain. Car building factories had to drastically reduce personnel and workload because of it. A close friend of mine who does car bodywork in an official brand mechanic told me that they're struggling more and more to get the pieces they need. Maybe its related.

Now, if accurate, this is very interesting indeed. If dissident groups are active in China and it isn't the work of western agencies, this may be one to keep an eye on.

Panic Buying Sweeps China, ‘Zero COVID’ Policy Worsens the Situation | Food prices soaring

"In recent days, panic buying has swept across many places in mainland China. The reason is that on November 1, China's Ministry of Commerce issued a notice, stating: “Families are encouraged to store a certain amount of necessities to meet the needs of daily life and emergencies”. The notice did not specify what the contingency was, but it caused anxiety among the public. So people in many places responded to the government's call to purchase and hoard living supplies. Videos circulating on the Internet show people snatching up rice and flour, with some buying 300 kilograms of rice at once. Some people rushed to buy vegetables, and some people bought pork half a pig at a time. Some people fought in the supermarket for goods, and others rushed to buy generators.
The panic buying across China has driven up the prices of various food products. The prices of rice and flour have generally increased by more than 10%; the prices of cooking needs and condiments such as cooking oil, salt, sauce, and vinegar have generally increased by 10%-15%, with some increased by as much as 35%.
Even though the Chinese authorities came out to stabilize everyone, folks have made various interpretations to the stockpile notice from the Ministry of Commerce.
Some people believe the notice is related to the recent tense situation of the Taiwan Strait, suggesting that the Ministry of Commerce might be giving a hint that people should stockpile supplies in preparation for war.
On November 6, the Australian news website News.com.au posted an article, saying that the supply stockpile notice, the armored vehicles in the city streets, and the notice for reserve veterans, seem to be a perfect combination of seemingly related events. It's no wonder that mainland China is flooded with claims this week that Beijing is about to invade Taiwan.
However, it is also believed that the latest notification from the Ministry of Commerce is related to the COVID-19 outbreak.
However, there is another interpretation of the Ministry of Commerce's notice. Overseas commentator Chen Pokong pointed out that the call for hoarding supplies is to stimulate domestic consumption. "
Oh my, those granny are crazy.

From 17mins 15 secs, in this interview with Gregory Copley, there's a section that describes the PRC as hopelessly screwed in it's ambitions both economic and militarily and heading rapidly into a hole in the ground.

On the other hand, his description of the state of the 'West' is pretty dire too.

Evergrande Defaults Again, Domino Effect, More Unfinished Buildings Are Coming

"Chinese real estate giant Evergrande, which has been on the verge of collapse since last year, has once again failed to pay another outstanding debt on time.

On December 3, Evergrande issued an announcement on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange saying that it had received a demand for a $260 million guarantee obligation. On December 6, another one of Evergrande's interest payments, approximately $82.5 million was not paid by the end of the 30-day grace period given earlier. This is the second default after the first case on its overseas debt.

On December 3, the Guangdong government said in an announcement that it had “interviewed” Xu Jiayin, the controller of Evergrande Group. The government said at the request of Evergrande Group, "a group has been sent to Evergrande" to try to resolve the crisis and supervise the enterprise's operation.

In another announcement by Evergrande, the Group said its failure to meet its guarantees and other financial obligations may result in creditors accelerating the maturity of future debts. This will most likely result in the Group to cease payment of future interest and debts. Currently, Evergrande has a total debt of approximately $300 billion, including $20 billion of outstanding USD debt. If Evergrande fails to find a feasible repayment plan in time, the Group may go down like a stack of Dominos.

As Chinese media has reported, currently not many projects of Evergrande have resumed work, and most of them are paused or suspended. Some netizens even said many of Evergrande's projects that are advertised to the public as having resumed work are actually done by sending three-five people to make some noise and pretend to be working. The local governments are also helping the real estate company to cover up and lie in order to calm the public.

Therefore, at present, many domestic projects in China do not have a date of delivery at all. However, the real crisis has not arrived yet, as most of these projects from defaulted companies were expected to be delivered in 2022. "

China’s Economy Is Facing the Most Difficult Period in 40 Years, Hard Times Are Coming

"The Economic Work Conference of the CCP Central Committee was held in Beijing from December 8 to 10, and is China's highest-level annual meeting to analyze the economic situation and make decisions.
The meeting mentioned that economic development is facing the triple pressure of "shrinking demand, supply shocks and weakening expectations", and pointed out that "next year's economic work should be focused on stability and seek progress in stability.
This shows that the Xi Jinping administration recognizes the downward pressure on the economy and is worried about the economic situation in 2022.

Usually, Zhongnanhai policy makers will set next year's economic growth target at the Economic Work Conference, and then announce it publicly at the National People's Congress meeting in March the following year.
According to some experts, China may set its economic growth target between 5% to 6% next year, with 5% being the bottom line.

China's economy started the year on a high note, from a huge 18.3 percent year-on-year jump in the first quarter to a mere 4.9 percent growth in the third quarter. Economists generally estimate that growth will slow down again in the fourth quarter, and could even fall below 4%.
The magnitude of the slowdown has raised doubts on a hard landing.
As a result, the most prominent key word at the conference was “stability”, which was mentioned 25 times, compared to 13 times in 2020.

Next, let's look at the unemployment problem sweeping China.
Secondly, foreign companies are withdrawing from China.
Thirdly, small and medium-sized enterprises are in difficult situations.
Some even went bankrupt due to the increased price of raw materials and the rationing of power supply, resulting in a large number of unemployment.
Fourthly, the “double reduction policy” hit the education and training industry hard.
In addition, since 2021, China's large Internet companies have suffered an unprecedented "anti-monopoly" crackdown, with Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu, Jingdong, and other large Internet companies suffering huge losses.
This was followed by massive layoffs.
    In September, TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, laid off 70% of its employees, meaning that nearly 70,000 people may be facing unemployment;
    the video platform iQiyi is laying off 20-40% of its employees, about 3,000 people;
    the video-sharing platform, Kuaishou, has also been reported by employees on social media to have recently laid off up to 30% of its employees;
Sina readings has laid off 90% of its employees, and Shanghai's Trip.com headquarters has laid off 30%.
These are only a few examples.
Finally, there is another problem: the local financial crisis.
Ironically, Chinese official media, People's Daily, launched a series of reports on December 13, titled: "This year, we are full of a sense of satisfaction", proposing the so-called "listening to people tell their own happiness stories".
The first issue was titled "I have a job, my future is full of hope".
Trying to publicize the government's achievements in stabilizing and promoting employment. "

The tennis player Peng Shuai who disappeared after having made serious allegations of sexual abuse has resurfaced.

This is an interesting report on the situation by someone who lives in China for years:´and has a youtube channel about it.
( He's a friend of Serpentza, another youtuber who lived in China for years, has a Chinese wife and a half-Chinese child.)

Xi'an City Lockdown Chaos; Residents Quarantined in Tunnels

(This seems inconceivable, even for China....)

"The city of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, has been completely sealed off since December 23, 2021, due to another COVID-19 outbreak, with 13 million residents being strictly confined to their homes.
Now more than 10 days have passed and many residents are in dire straits due to food shortages. Residents of the same building have started bartering for vegetables and rice in exchange for cell phones, computers, cigarettes and alcohol.
There were also patients who passed away due to lack of timely treatment. This is a stark contrast to the communities where the officials live with abundant supplies. Many people believe that Xi'an these days mirror Wuhan from 2020.
However, such rigid restrictions and prevention measures did not stop the spread of the virus. As of 9 a.m. on January 4, the number of infected cases in Xi'an was 2,435, an increase of 2,292 cases from the initial city closure. On January 1, the CCP took even more absurd measures to prevent the spread. According to instructions from Vice Premier Sun Chunlan, Liu Guozhong, the Party Secretary of Shaanxi Province, ordered that the cases in Xi'an must reach the goal of zero by January 4! This is a part of their "social clearance" plan, which means that all residents in the risk areas will be moved to other places outside of Xi'an for centralized isolation, so that the remaining people will no longer be at risk of infection, thus achieving the goal of "social clearance". Evergrande’s 39 Buildings Scheduled for Demolition on Ocean Flower Island

(The stories coming out of China just seem to be getting more and more bizarre.)
"Recently, the Evergrande’s construction of the Ocean Flower Island has once again hit another roadblock. On December 30th, the local government cracked down on the company, giving them 10 days to demolish the 39 buildings that were constructed with illegally obtained permits. As of January 4th, the Evergrande Group had officially confirmed the demolition orders and were in the process of making appeals against the demolition. Currently, the construction has been completely suspended and the final results have yet to be publicly announced.
This $25 billion USD project is composed of three artificial islands, designed to resemble a blooming peony, hence the name “Ocean Flower Island”. With a total area of 7.8 km2 or 1927 acres, it is the largest artificial island in the world, able to accommodate up to 205,000 people. As a tourist attraction, the central area, Ocean Flower Island No. 1, will be for hotels, amusement parks, shopping districts and other points of interest while the two adjacent islands are primarily for residential purposes.
From these actions, it would seem that the local government’s main goal is to prevent the completion of the project. That way, they would be able to obtain the newly made island and sell that to a different developer, as the artificial island itself is still considered to belong to the state. As such, it would seem like the message of ecological protection is just an excuse to remove the Evergrande group. If they are able to sell the land off to some other developer, all they have to do is tell the new company to pay an initial fee for “environmental rehabilitation”."

First Chinese Municipal Government to Go Bankrupt, Housing Prices Fall by Over 90%

"Hegang, a city in China’s Heilongjiang Province, was once made famous overnight for it’s extremely low real estate prices. Now, it has once again made news, this time for another reason. On December 23 of 2021, the Hegang human resources bureau announced their new fiscal restructuring plan. In it, they announced that they would stop hiring government staff. Although deleted shortly after, the words “fiscal restructuring” caught the attention of many, as the term was more or less a euphemism for what is essentially financial bankruptcy. Due to the lack of precedence, there is no official Chinese term to describe this financial situation, thus, it is for the meantime referred to as “fiscal reorganization”. "
