There is an Australian group called, "Know your rights" who are educating Australians on how to beat the system however, the problem is, even knowing and understanding the law, we can still be arrested. Clinical trial looks to protect high-risk healthcare workers against COVID-19
    Tuesday 11 August 2020

Healthcare workers are part of the first line of defence in today’s fight against COVID-19. But as this global virus continues to spread, the demands on our medical sector are becoming greater, and riskier, than ever.

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) is playing a pivotal role in an Australian-led clinical trial to determine whether hydroxychloroquine can protect healthcare workers from contracting COVID-19 while caring for COVID-positive patients.

The COVID SHIELD Clinical Trial is a collaborative project led by the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, in partnership with human data science company IQVIA and various healthcare providers across the country, including SVHM, which is a screening site for the trial and has been heavily involved in the design of the study.

Associate Professor Mandana Nikpour, one of COVID SHIELD’s lead principal researchers and a consultant rheumatologist at SVHM, says during the pandemic hundreds of thousands of healthcare workers have been infected worldwide, demonstrating the value, need and urgency of this clinical trial that focuses on prevention rather than cure.

When the trial started in June, more than 10 per cent of COVID-19 cases in Australia were linked to healthcare workers. In the second wave of infections in Victoria, more than 1000 healthcare workers have been infected.

“For every healthcare worker who is infected, quite a few then have to be tested, or go into self-isolation for two weeks. This has had an impact on the physical and mental health of healthcare workers, as well as an impact on the workforce we have available to undertake frontline duties,” A/Prof Nikpour says.

    What we know so far

The randomised, gold-standard clinical trial will see half the participants given hydroxychloroquine tablets, while the other half will receive placebo tablets over the course of four months.

Hydroxychloroquine is commonly used in the treatment of lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Having used the drug to successfully treat patients with both these conditions, A/Prof Nikpour says initial findings indicate hydroxychloroquine could potentially help us get on the front foot in the fight against COVID-19, where healthcare workers are concerned.

“In the test-tube, hydroxychloroquine reduces the replication of SARS Coronavirus 2, which is the COVID-19 virus, by about 90 percent,” she explains.

“When you are very sick or ventilated in hospital you have a lot of inflammatory molecules causing collateral damage to organs, and it is not possible at that point to intervene with a drug like hydroxychloroquine. However, hydroxychloroquine could potentially reduce the risk of COVID-19, if taken prior to exposure to the virus, that is, as ‘pre-exposure prophylaxis’ or ‘PrEP’.”

During the trial, participants will regularly report, via an electronic data-capture platform, any COVID-19 symptoms they may be experiencing and whether they have been tested for the virus or been diagnosed with it.

“They also get smartphone alerts daily to remind them to take their medication and monitor their progress, including any side effects. The eDiary also checks whether they have had contact with anyone who has tested COVID-positive,” A/Prof Nikpour

Thanks Constance Here's hoping they do it right and it encourages them to do a trial on Hydroxychloroquine +zinc+azithromycin for patients in first 5 days.

Australian port sold for $7.3 billion to consortium; China fund among backers
    Cecile Lefort, Byron Kaye
    BUSINESS NEWSSEPTEMBER 19, 2016 / 12:53 PM / 4 YEARS AGO
SYDNEY (Reuters) - A consortium of global and domestic funds, backed by investors including China Investment Corp, agreed to buy Australia’s busiest port for a higher-than-expected A$9.7 billion ($7.3 billion), a sign that tough equity markets are helping fuel appetite for infrastructure.

Australian leaders will also hope the deal shows they still welcome Chinese investment in infrastructure. The federal government last month blocked the sale of the country’s biggest power network, Ausgrid, to state-owned State Grid Corp of China and Hong Kong-listed Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings on security concerns.

The price tag for Port of Melbourne fell short of the country’s largest privatization deal on record, the A$10.8 billion sale of electricity grid company Transgrid to a global consortium in November 2015, but still ranks among its biggest.

It also smashes the target set by the government of Victoria state which previously said it hoped for A$5.8 billion for the container and multi-cargo port. In 2013, the two ports of larger city Sydney fetched A$5 billion.

Sovereign wealth funds and other asset managers are seeking long-term investment opportunities amid weaker returns from some equity markets and lower bond yields.

“Equity markets are starting to realise that they’re going to live in an environment where returns are going to be lower for longer, and they’re looking for secure investments,” Victoria Treasurer Tim Pallas said in a telephone interview.

Clive Palmer's NT team both slams and supports party behind Darwin port lease to China

snippet in relation to the Melbourne Port:
UAP's candidate for Solomon Raj Rajwin, who has run previously under different names for different parties in both the NT and Darwin Council elections, gave a long, at-times rambling defence of why he stood by UAP's policy against the Darwin port lease.

"Look the [major parties'] agenda — they want to sell this thing, they want to sell other things, they want to sell everything," Mr Rajwin said.

"But I [have] never seen where they will start earning money."

In a promotional video on his candidate Facebook page titled "China Control", Mr Rajwin said: "China controls Port Darwin, Newcastle Port, Melbourne Port, Port Cape Preston Western Australia. Whoever controls our ports controls what we export and to who."

More than 40 other UAP candidates running for seats across the country have recorded the same video.

The UAP was predicted to spend tens of millions on advertising during this election campaign, and its social media channels feature several videos focused on sovereignty with titles like "Fuel Reserves: Australia must prevail over foreign powers".

If anyone on FB, publicly encourages anyone to go for a walk, this is now seen as "incitement". The police have been hunting down, harrassing and intimidating, and even arresting people for the mere mention of the word walk. We don't have to even act upon our intention to go for a walk for us to be charged with incitement. Just stating it on FB is enough.

I watched a video yesterday, where a guy was sharing how he had been arrested for sharing on FB, a poster of the protest being held on the 5th of September. He looked so defeated and demoralised. These are innocent, good hearted people.

And another gentleman, who in addition to being heavily fined and arrested, had all his electronic data confiscated; I mean the poor soul would have to have been in his mid to late seventies! Just your average granddad speaking out.

I guess that even advertising a protest has now been deemed as incitement because the current lockdown under the emergency act ends on the 13th of September.

I think this video relates to a time back at the beginning of July when 3,000 public housing tenants were placed for two weeks (without notice) under hard lockdown in two of the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne. At one stage, I remember people not being allowed to bring food to their loved ones until there was a public outcry.

I recognised that it was the public housing flats because whilst I've never visited those particular buildings on the North side, there are many of these flats sprinkled across metro Melbourne and all the public housing flats look exactly the same.

And here he is being interviewed by the police after his arrest. Now that I have seen this interview, not such the average granddad. I was in stitches at one stage because he turned his entire interview into an opportunity to educate the police officers!

HAS Victoria leased the port in Melbourne to the CCP? I could not find the report.
I deeply appreciate all your efforts.

I couldn't find anything regarding a lease but I did find this Maggie.

What I am thinking about is the way that right now, the Pacific states in the US are the most "infiltrated" by an agenda to destroy the country IMO. Oahu Hawaii has the most extreme lockdown, California is harsh. Many are leaving California. Property values will be very challenged. Western Canada is a Chinese stronghold.

I think the CCP is on the march and that the politicians have been coerced by carrots and sticks (including blackmail?). The thing about Chinese investment is that it is the wedge of the invasion. IMO this is already WAR. How do we fight such a WAR?

Other than doing internal work, I have NO CLUE about what to do. I am not on any political side. ALL seem to be part of the game. Protest seems to be futile. Guns won't work IMO. I am sad about the appearance of the world.

I will keep trying to detox from obsessive searching for a "mundane answer" of what to "do". That is so hard. Part of me still thinks that there is an answer "out there" about what we should "do". I am not afraid to die and I will also appreciate the GOOD in my life right now.

I pray that you (all of you there) and all of us are in peace and plenty and freedom and harmony.

That's literally unbelievable. It's almost like some very bad joke.

Here in Ecuador, the national lockdown (and state of emergency) is being lifted on 12 September, two weeks from now. My understanding is that from then, everything will return to normal. (It has to.)

This is from a blog dedicated to "putting down" the wicked antivaxxers.

Quote Bat**** Crazy Solihin Millin arrested
    1 Reply
And no surprise – the loyal cult followers are up in arms!

The term “Bat**** crazy” aren’t my words by the way. They were the rightful words of Victoria’s Deputy Police Commissioner Luke Cornelius. And you can see here the source of his remark.

    It is plain that the Deputy Commissioner was given a brief of the contents of Millin’s desktop. This will undoubtedly include his High Court paperwork and the other material I have reviewed previously on this blog. After seeing that brief, Luke knew that Millin was a total nutcase. Not to mention this;

So all of Millin’s rantings were recorded as well. This adds to the genuine truth behind the Deputy Commissioner’s comment.

Millin’s arrest is for organising the September 5 Freedom Protest in Melbourne – for inciting others into committing a criminal act. Under the State of Disaster, restrictions are in place that are enforceable by criminal law. Flouting those restrictions by themselves is a criminal act and warrants the minimum of a fine – whether it be $200 for not wearing a mask without a lawful reason or the higher fines. Demanding an end to the lockdown instantly for one’s freedom is not an option. Our freedom was removed by a deadly disease called COVID-19 – something that Millin believes doesn’t exist because it hasn’t been isolated. It has been isolated – it is impossible to have a vaccine at the human trial stage (it’s actually more than one) without such an isolation. Millin is only saying that because of his long held demented view about vaccines in general and he doesn’t want this one any more than any of the others.

His followers are just as nuts and it wouldn’t surprise me if there was a brief on Millin’s Facebook timeline and the comments on there as well. I mean look at some of these gems! (continued here)

Parliament is sitting on Tuesday, the 1st of September (I nearly said "August", everything feels like groundhog day here) to decide our fate and it all hinges on these folks votes.

It is insanity that we have to try to petition for our natural right just to travel outside of our own homes.

Time to draw your sword folks.

The video was up on Sol's youtube channel pretty quickly so I would have to assume that he made a request to obtain a copy of the interview and it was granted.

The entire time I was watching his video, I was thinking of the advice the lawyer offered in the video below. However, I think Sol was anticipating his arrest, had a conviction of the heart, sounded very confident about how to approach the whole situation and as he said, he welcomed it.
