I think the CCP is on the march and that the politicians have been coerced by carrots and sticks (including blackmail?). The thing about Chinese investment is that it is the wedge of the invasion. IMO this is already WAR. How do we fight such a WAR?
I feel something terribly ominous about the potential Chinese control of ports.

China will take over the world, one port at a time

If the situation in China is dire, will it speed the agenda to take over the world? I have heard for decades from people who knew that the Revolution in which mass murder was used (leaving only the most compliant behind) would be spread but did not want to believe we'd have that end.

Parliament is sitting on Tuesday, the 1st of September (I nearly said "August", everything feels like groundhog day here) to decide our fate and it all hinges on these folks votes.
The cynic in me says that for something as important as this, the way it pans out will not be through deliberation, debate, or reason, or even actual politics, but by who and how many strings are being pulled (by controllers) - meaning who and how many are susceptible to bribes, or susceptible to threats, meaning who or how many have committed criminal, possibly sexual, activity, and possibly with minors, on video tape, with those video tapes being held over them as leverage when it comes to policy or passing legislation. Usually the ones who have the most tapes, or the worst tapes, end up being the most loyal, the most pliant, and therefore end up having (being given) the most power.

At least, that's how it seems to work in Europe.

A member of parliament calling for an end to the madness that is this extreme lockdown. He gets right to the heart of the matter.

An announcement will be made on Sunday as to whether the insanity of stage 4 lockdown ends on the 13th of September, or continues for a determined length of time.

Update: The vote has been won to extend the emergency act for another 6 months.

Coronavirus state of emergency extension passes Victorian Parliament's Upper House
A law change to extend Victoria's state of emergency has passed the state's Upper House, paving the way for its passage through Parliament.

The six-month extension is half the length of the Government's original proposal, which was doomed to fail in the Upper House, where the Government does not have a majority.

After a marathon late-night sitting through Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning, the bill passed — without amendments — 20 votes to 19 at 1:56am.

Its success was assured after Greens MP Samantha Ratnam returned to Parliament while on maternity leave to vote in favour of the amendments.

"Obviously, I wasn't intending to be here this week because I'm still on maternity leave but I felt like this decision that we have before us in the Parliament was just too important for the health and wellbeing of Victorians," she said.

"The Greens have always backed the public health-led response to the pandemic."

The proposed change also won the backing of Animal Justice Party MP Andy Meddick and Reason Party MP Fiona Patten.

Both said they had been targeted by aggressive abuse in the lead-up to the vote.

"I have never experienced this type of aggression against me in such a personal, sometimes sexual way," Ms Patten said.

"This is not about a lockdown. This is about ensuring that if someone has COVID, they stay isolated. This is ensuring that if a cafe opens up, they have a clear plan of how to social distance."

Extending the state of emergency allows legally binding health directives to be issued by the Chief Health Officer after September 13, when the current state of emergency ends.

The extension does not mean existing restrictions will stay in place.

The Government will need to justify continuing the extension each month.

Health Minister Jenny Mikakos told Parliament that a failure to extend the state of emergency would mean "we would literally fall off a cliff".

"We will create public health anarchy," she said.

However, the Opposition criticised the Government's failure to act sooner and to allow more time for debate and details to be worked out.

"This is driven by the Premier's lust and love for power," the Opposition's David Davis said.

"It's driven by the Premier's determination to keep the state closed down."

Liberal MP Bernie Finn said Mr Andrews "wants to keep mothers from daughters" and "sons from fathers".

Mr Andrews will announce a plan to move the state out of stage 4 restrictions on Sunday.

The plan will comprise two separate "roadmaps" — one for Melbourne, and another for country Victoria.

Eva Bartlett is a thorough and responsible journalist so I do think this may be an accurate report:

“If a man does not keep pace with [fall into line with] his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” - Thoreau

As David Icke said, all you really need for fascism to work is the acquiescence of the people. Not only to work but flourish. The genius part is, that initially the people don't know it's fascism, not until it's too late.

And then afterwards, when the carnage has run it's course and the people have lost everything, the perennial get out clause: "but, but we didn't know..." And "We were only following orders..."

What's that saying? 'There is nothing new under the sun.'

Thanks for all your work here Constance -
I agree with you from post #120 - talking with the police is never to one's benefit.

I fear Sol's hubris may be his undoing - he has confessed. He should have kept his mouth shut and dealt with it administratively before his day in court.

For anyone encountering similar situations, I can not stress strongly enough -

If given an 'official' directive, stay in the question: Am I required to do that? Do you have a warrant/ court order/etc? Am I being detained?
Am I free to go? Do not argue or resist.

Then if compelled to act, simply state: Under force and duress/ threat of harm, I will comply with your directives.

If forced to sign any document, write V.C. before the signature - short for Vi Coactus (Latin for having been forced/ compelled/ coerced)

If they issue a ticket, just take it and deal with it later.

There is a strong community of Aussies well versed in how to deal with these scenarios after the fact - The 'know your rights' crew is just one of several.

Refusing to comply/ arguing / resisting - will not end well

This is just unreal.... A facebook post where the poster said she was going on a walk and the police show up to intimidate her in case she was arranging to meet others?
If anyone on FB, publicly encourages anyone to go for a walk, this is now seen as "incitement". The police have been hunting down, harrassing and intimidating, and even arresting people for the mere mention of the word walk. We don't have to even act upon our intention to go for a walk for us to be charged with incitement. Just stating it on FB is enough.

I watched a video yesterday, where a guy was sharing how he had been arrested for sharing on FB, a poster of the protest being held on the 5th of September. He looked so defeated and demoralised. These are innocent, good hearted people.

And another gentleman, who in addition to being heavily fined and arrested, had all his electronic data confiscated; I mean the poor soul would have to have been in his mid to late seventies! Just your average granddad speaking out.

I guess that even advertising a protest has now been deemed as incitement because the current lockdown under the emergency act ends on the 13th of September.

    https://www.findlaw.com.au/articles/...al-offenc.aspx
Does anyone else note the similar smirk and swagger of these police peoles? The first incident I saw of the woman who fought with the policeman when she had no mask on showed the guy PROUD to give his number to the filming witness.

Bumping this as "incitement" is seeming to be a new and dangerous way to "legally" imprison people who speak out through media channels. Maybe there needs to be a new kind of coded speech.

In the states, the roll out of a plan to shut down will be one state at a time (Valerie said that on another post). People need to come together before being locked down. Maybe we need passenger pigeons? Now that the internet is just about the only way to communicate, we need to SHUN facebook and other sites monitored. But then where? places like PA are valuable (as in would it be incitement to post here)?.

I am saving for a newer auto but giving my 25 US dollars today to the forum as a sign of intention that we be able to establish effective ways to share information we need.

This case seemed so unbelievable to me that I wondered momentarily if perhaps it was all staged by some group who wanted overnight to make Australians furious.
Not knowing much about Australia, I would have to yield to members here who live there as to whether my imagining was totally far-fetched.
But if the video above with the policeman is not also staged, then I guess reality in Australia has gone more surreal than I ever could have imagined.
I think there is going to have to be a new term dreamed up to describe the kind of culture shock people are experiencing these days.
    Each breath a gift...

    Surreal is right Natalie.

And there's more....his face lights up just thinking about "the wonderful world of discovery" protesters will encounter if they are selfish enough to leave their homes. The police will just be following orders.

Many parks and play areas have been blocked off to public use with police enforcement.

And...we have mobile surveillance equipment in these areas to make sure we comply.
