    For any presidential election anywhere...

"A robot is a machine—especially one programmable by a computer— capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically.Robots can be guided by an external control device or the control may be embedded within. Robots may be constructed on the lines of human form, but most robots are machines designed to perform a task with no regard to their aesthetics."

My view....another election with no good choices. Many people will not vote. There is no way the Dems will let Trump win, no way. The country is going to have riots and killings and chaos no matter which one wins. There will be no winner this election cycle.

My apologies I just find this so morbidly fascinating

    https://twitter.com/brockpierce/stat...66296132780032

Quote The President, with his toadies and familiars, is now five hundred feet down in solid rock with enough fine foods, wines and liqueurs to last two hundred years, and the longevity drugs to enjoy them all. (Held off the market, in the interests of national security.)

A teen-aged President appears on national TV, his well-cut suit hanging loose on his skinny frame, to pipe out in adolescent treble, alternately pompous and cracking:

"We categorically deny that there are any [crack] so-called Fountain-of-Youth drugs, procedures or treatments [crack] that are being held back from the American people [crack]."

He flashes a boyish smile and runs a comb through his abundant, unruly hair.

"And I categorically dismiss as without foundation rumors that I myself, the First Lady, my fag son and my colleagues in the Cabinet are sustaining ourselves by state-of-the-art vampiric technology, drawing off from the American pimples [crack giggle] so-called 'energy units'!"

His hair stands up and crackles, and he gives the American people the finger and barks out:
"I got mine, f-ck you! Every crumb for himself."

Maybe I'll start a "Transition Into Pierce" thread

All of this is astute, insightful and accurate: The politicians which are elected by groups of people are 'supposed' to represent the majority will. Of course there are many other influences and
leverage from covert groups which circumvent the ballot box through exclusive channels of communication, and is proportional to their social position/wealth.
This is the corrupt and rigged system we have.
However, nobody has come up with a way to remove the corruption, and external influences.
Through choosing not to participate you do not register your 'protest', you simply nullify your own voice, with your vote you do have at least some effect.

It might be hopeless, but at least with a semblance of democracy you have a means to direct policies.
We can become too cynical, too abstracted with our clever overviews; I am a pragmatist, we have to work with the reality before us.
The people are still powerful, it is up to us to change things, if we see evil and blatant tyranny, the only course open to the rank & file proletariat is to vote!
You might believe it is futile, but don't make the mistake of not participating for all this!

Amazing how much sound and fury there still is on this forum about politics. Bluegreen has it all figured out in these two images.

It is amazing how many people sit in the left wing of the theater and see that the actors on the right side of the stage have strings attached but assume it is not so for the actors on the left.

It is amazing how many people in the world think their only power is to pull a lever, or punch a chad or ink in a hole on a ballot every 4 years and to put a bumper sticker on the back of their car promoting people in the direction of the other.

Your real power comes when you can see beyond the drama and it's fakery, when you can see that it's not the people on the other wing of the theater who are the problem, or the puppet on the right or left side, or even all the puppets. It's the people who are putting on the show, who have grossly overcharged you for admission, and who don't want you to leave the theater.
