When I play embedded videos from the Dissenter browser I get adverts. When I watch stuff through Chrome, with AdBlock Plus installed, embedded content doesn't give me adverts.

I don't login to youtube either, that's the trick for avoiding ads, and that, for me, includes embedded videos too thankfully - I cannot abide ads!

Another possibility is that some people may have ad or script blockers running in the background (browser plugins) which maybe interfering with how images or other embedded content is displaying on the page.

Yeah, thought about that, actual problem may be that whatever twitter, facebook or other linked post had an ad on it, so the adblocker removed it. I don't have one of those, and even if i had, it doesn't run in incognito mode, i see all the content but i never see ads unless i go out of Avalon, and then i guess it's because it thinks i'm a new account or something like not having any cookies removed or in some way Avalon sends a no track request that also disables ads?

I just thought of a way to possibly do that, from the server side, if you can fool youtube into thinking the end user is logged into a premium youtube account from someone else, through oauth cookies....

But i'm not going to say more about it

That's odd, I don't do facebook or twitter or any of that, and I see all posted images, tweets etc, no problem. I'm using Firefox.

Same for me, i don't have any connected account on this pc, and still see all the posts correctly, i'm using Chrome and i also use Incognito Mode most of the time in all websites i visit, so there's no linked or open sessions to anything else ever

"Facebook Container" is an add-on I have for Firefox. What it does is prevents your FB cookies from collecting data on everything else you do online. A side effect is that I cannot see FB linked posts unless I paste the URL directly into a tab.

The plugin prevents me from seeing embedded content because facebook collects data on any IP address that clicks on any of their content - you don't need an account.

If you've ever viewed FB embedded content or clicked on any of their pages or content, they start a profile against your IP, so that if you ever do get an account, they will match that with your IP, and merge the profiles, so they already have data on you for targeted ads and whatever else.

It's pretty insane. They collect data on everyone they can regardless of if you have an account. For example, if someone posts a pic of you on their FB page and the FB facial recognition software doesn't recognize you, it will start a profile on you based on that image.

So the effect of not seeing some of the posts is due to me (or someone) having a browser feature or extension, or some software that is working to protect you from Facebook (twitter, instagram, etc) tracking --- it has nothing to do with accounts or anything.

PS: I use blocking add-ons for everything. I never even see ads anywhere. Drives me nuts when I use someone else's device and have to sit through ads or be distracted by them.

Well to be honest i have my own custom build of Chromium, which acts as if it was Chrome, but includes a lot of anonymizing stuff i merged into it, basically i have never, in the past 3/4 years, used my real ip to connect to anywhere, it's always been a builtin connection to a couple open vpn servers selected at random when i open a new tab, so even when i have two or more tabs open, some of them use a separate IP than the other tabs, it's a random thing by design. Whatever facebook or other sites think has associated with "my ip", they can keep, it's worthless. I also remove a lot of stuff i don't like by using filters with also a custom ICAP proxy

The great thing about having my own ICAP server proxy, is that i can filter all incoming traffic to remove the crap i don't want, but leave the outside traffic alone and merge with the cache so that the server side never knows i may have removed a few things here and there. It doesn't always work well, but most times it does

But i know a lot of people won't follow with what all that stuff means, and i am thankful there are extensions that mostly do the same thing, in an easier way and for other browsers other than Chromium or Chrome

I still like my own custom build, and having full control, but yeah, not for everyone i know

If you find an image online, you can "copy link location" and paste in the pop up window that appears when you hit the picture frame icon under the reply window. It is way less work than downloading to your device and subsequently uploading to your attachments in order to post.
