Just as relevant today as it was back then. What goes around comes around nothing new under the sun.

    Wake Up
    Motopony

    Dreamers are believers
That's how you buy into a dream
But how much more do you need to see
    Before you can believe?
It's time to wake up from this dream
What if I was never rejected?
What if you all just knew the right time to leave?
    My judgment was never requested
But what if you gave me exactly what I need?
What if I altered my perspective?
What if I discovered what I never thought to see?
What if I'm still just asleep?
Wake up, wake up, you dreamer
Wake up and see the day
You thought it was a nightmare
But life has a mysterious way
What if these drugs aren't the problem?
What if my freedom's hiding just outside my reach?
What if I never hit bottom?
How far can I go fallin' 'fore I realize fallin's free?
What if we've all got a Satan
Hiding deep within our bellies, where he knows we cannot see?
What if my dollar bill is me?
Wake up, wake up, you dreamers
    This dream has gone astray
    A generation slumbers
    Through modern life's decay
Wake up, wake up, you dreamers
Wake up and discern the signs
You thought it was a textbook
But life is a decadent display
    Do you remember, kids?
    Dreamers are believers
That's how you buy into a dream
But how much more do you need to see
    Before you can believe?
It's time to wake up from this dream

I was gonna post this song myself Bill, and what a powerful message it contains.

During lockdown, when I was doing food courier work, I was listening to Uprising constantly, and it filled me which such strength and courage to face whatever challenges were imminent, and a feeling of 'Yes! We can do this!'.

It was also played on a portable PA, whilst about 40 of us walked through the city centre to join up with an anti lockdown rally. Was a really surreal experience, and we got a lot of cheers and beeping of horns in support.

    "The paranoia is in bloom
    The P.R. transmissions will resume
They'll try to push drugs, keep us all dumbed down
And hope that we will never see the truth around, so come on
    Another promise, another scene, another
Packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed with all the
Green belts wrapped around our minds and endless
Red tape to keep the truth confined, so come on
    They will not force us
And they will stop degrading us
And they will not control us
We will be victorious, so come on
    Interchanging mind control
Come let the revolution take its toll
If you could flick a switch and open your third eye
You'd see that we should never be afraid to die
    So come on
Rise up and take the power back
It's time the fat cats had a heart attack
You know that their time is coming to an end
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend
    So come on
    They will not force us
    They will stop degrading us
    They will not control us
We will be victorious, so come on
    Hey, hey, hey, hey
    Hey, hey, hey, hey
    Hey, hey, hey, hey
    They will not force us
    They will stop degrading us
    They will not control us
We will be victorious, so come on
    Hey, hey, hey, hey".

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
    Forever trusting who we are
    And nothing else matters

I never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
    And nothing else matters

Yeah, trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
    And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
    And I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
    Forever trusting who we are
    And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
    And I know, that's right

    Never opened myself this way
And life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
    And nothing else matters, yeah

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
    And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they say
Never cared for games they play
I never cared for what they do
I never cared for what they know
And I know, yeah yeah yeah

    Thanks Ben Macdonald, nice thread.

    Has to be.........

    Imagine there's no heaven
    It's easy if you try
    No hell below us
    Above us only sky
    Imagine all the people
    Living for today... Aha-ah...

    Imagine there's no countries
    It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
    And no religion, too
    Imagine all the people
    Living life in peace... You...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

    Imagine no possessions
    I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
    A brotherhood of man
    Imagine all the people
    Sharing all the world... You...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

    ""Hymn Of The Big Wheel"

    [Horace Andy]

The big wheel keeps on turning
On a simple line day by day
The earth spins on its axis
One man struggle while another relaxes

There's a hole in my soul like a cavity
Seems like the world is out to gather just by gravity
The wheel keeps turning the sky's rearranging
Look my son the weather is changing

I'd like to feel that you could be free
Look up at the blue skies beneath a new tree
    Sometime again
You'll turn green and the sea turns red
My son I said the power of axis over my head
The big wheel keeps on turning
On a simple line day by day
The earth spins on its axis
One man struggle while another relaxes

We sang about the sun and danced among the trees
And we listened to the whisper of the city on the breeze
Will you cry in the most in a lead-free zone
Down within the shadows where the factories drone
On the surface of the wheel they build another town
And so the green come tumbling down
Yes close your eyes and hold me tight
And i'll show you sunset sometime again

The big wheel keeps on turning
On a simple line day by day
The earth spins on its axis
One man struggle while another relaxes
As a child's silent prayer my hope hides in disguise
While satellites and cameras watch from the skies
An acid drop of rain recycled from the sea
It washed away my shadow burnt a hole in me
And all the king's men cannot put it back again
But the ghetto sun will nurture life
And mend my soul sometime again

The big wheel keeps on turning
On a simple line day by day
The earth spins on its axis
One man struggle while another relaxes

    The Sea
    HAEVN
    Sunrays touch the coastline
On the cutter shows the dust
Long nights are gone with the river
The water has been waiting long enough
We float on the river of time
    Hold steady, hold steady
The sea comes, calls the summer
    Forced out the cold
Don't follow the change of the tides
    Hold steady, hold steady
Storm for hours and rainy days
And all our lives we're told
The stream will take us home
    Sunrays touch the coastline
Warm our feet, show the glare
We walk through the sand in the warm night
The water will take the weight from us
And all our lives we're told
The stream will take us home
And all our lives we're told
The stream will take us home
We sell our lives to the sea
The sky lights up from the beach
When you realize where you come from, you naturally become tolerant, disinterested, amused, kindhearted as a grandparent, dignified as a king. -- I Ching

    Let It Be

    Malvina Reynolds

When you walk in the forest, let it be
There's a flower in the wood, let it be
There's a flower in the wood, and it's innocent and good
By the stone where it stands, let it be

Let it be, let it be
It's so lovely where it is, let it be

Tho you want it for your own
If you take it from its place
It will not be what it was when you loved it
Where it stood in the wood

Let it be, let it be
It's so lovely where it is, let it be

    It's a thoughtful child
    Innocent and wild
In the wood by the stone, let it be

Let her be, let her be
When you walk in the forest, let her be

You think that you love her
    And you want to discover
How she's made, so you take her apart
    And break her heart

    Vicarious

    Eye on the TV
    'Cause tragedy thrills me
Whatever flavor it happens to be like
    Killed by the husband
    Drowned by the ocean
    Shot by his own son
    She used a poison
    In his tea
    And kissed him goodbye
    That's my kind of story
It's no fun until someone dies
    Don't look at me like
    I am a monster
    Frown out your one face
    But with the other
    Stare like a junkie
    Into the TV
    Stare like a zombie
    While the mother
    Holds her child
    Watches him die
    Hands to the sky crying
    "Why, oh why?"
