    Default Coincidence Or A.I.?

I have a Brit friend who I am in near daily contact with. We share a similar sense of humor, and sometimes we will communicate solely with gifs...as a kind of silly shorthand.

Not too long ago, in response to a gif he sent me, I decided to send him a gif from Dave Chappelle's "True Hollywood Stories". But I changed my mind and decided to send him a Michael Keaton gif instead.

Well, after I typed in the words Micheal Keaton, I was offered several gifs from Chappelle's "True Hollywood Stories". WTF?

It's like the internet read my mind and knew my previous idea. How else to explain it?

I might have stubbornly compartmentalized that incident if it hadn't already happened on 2 other occasions.

Anyone else have stuff like this happen?

What if it's the other way around? What if you changed your thought from Chappelle to Keaton because of some subliminal or otherwise not noticed "input" you came across on the internet?

I have had similar things happen to me in the past year or two. I'll be thinking of something, without ever having said anything about it, and an advertisement will pop up related to the thought that I was thinking of.

This has probably happened 3-4 times in the last 6 months. Not sure what's going on, but AI / botnets are becoming incredibly "intelligent". They see much deeper patterns than we do with our own two eyes.

The most likely explanation is that these are not our own thoughts at all to begin with

    very interesting!

i have had experiences where, i'm at the gym or taking a walk, listening to my old i-pod, where for some reason or another i listen to the same song repetitively..

and then, when i get home and get on youtube, that song is offered in my suggested videos.

    it's just plain ol creepy

They are listening, all the time, I've witnessed it many times, so has my family members, and it is kind of annoying to say the least.

I do not believe Google or any other company can read your or anyone thoughts, not a chance without been connected to some special device (not phones or PCs).

I was using an app called LINE in my wife's phone another day, I sent a picture of "Fried Rice Cake" we did here another day, it took 1 second for the LINE app display a picture of fry chicken from KFC, why is that? Simple, the photo I sent looks pretty much like fried chicken from KFC. I didn't write anything like "fried rice cake", it was only a photo of it, their algorithm knows how to read photos.

But there is a few things that you can be aware before using these devices:

    - Do not type at the same time you are thinking or constructing the sentence/phrase/keywords, google suggest the sentence based on few words, that is based on various parameters..
    - Google record your behavior when you are logged (see the suggestions in the search bar), it also create files like cookies and it is stored in your computer. Do not search anything when logged and clean your cookies very often.
    - Block Ads always, do not let those companies know who you are and what you like or hate.
    - If you are using Android, you want to prevent Ads from displaying, I found "DNS66" to be the best one, but it will be buggy if used with a VPN, not sure why.

    * When I say Google, I mean all Google products, not only the search engine.

I had a talk with a friend a while ago, he is electric engineer and hacker in his free time, his laptop is totally bare bones, no mic, no camera, a different keyboard he built himself, it is a modified version of the T400's model made by Thinkpad (IBM - old school), he follows very close the same approach used by Richard Stallman..
You can read more here at his official website https://stallman.org/stallman-computing.html

Before anyone start shouting that Stallman defended Jefrey Spistein about underage girls and prostitution and all the bla bla bla.. I want to be clear, I do not care about Stallman's personal life, I just care about his knowledge and he is genius in science of computers and also a lifelong activist, he knows a lot of ****, that's all I can say and it is not the first time people tried to kill or destroy his life. He is another one standing strong out there and taking the hit for many decades now.

This has been happening the past few years without even ANY technology in the room or turned out. As my oldest daughter and my oldest son say, we really have no idea the extent of an AI overlay operating within the organic matrix. I think a lot of what we have seen the past 9 months or so might also be an overlay. Other members in my family also think this way, are we paranoid or perceptive? I don't know but one military contractor has come out recently and said the same.

Happened to me good number of times already and I always feel charmed when it happens but not counting the instances. I use key terms rather than typing sentences to Google search and good few times it spilled some unrelated information while I was researching something else. Something of imminent interest that the machine could not know or even guess.

Well unless it could One option ( if I think about it now) is a “merger”. The software learns from peoples searches simultaneously and uses the mass information live in its own filters. Being so huge it really is on the way of AI.
I have the feel that it “tries to help”, at least sometimes.

But speaking of using “key words” in search machine we already do half the job by specifying the terms of information sought after as far as possible, suppose it’s narrow pathway or something only few people looked up in last ..say two weeks
result of that search tends to be “more interesting” and can contain some “lost pieces” of unique character that no one looked up at all ?

It’s like, to put it humanly, the machine suggesting: “you’re looking for something rare, I don’t know what is it but could it be one of these “pieces” I have no clue about?”

Another merger I’ve observed repeatedly was whenever I’d be linked to a friend remotely and unless either or both parties uses VPN,
some YouTube videos/music I listen to and some of their Youtube videos would show up in the offer load under.
That is without me being signed into Youtube or Google. I sign in if I have to but usually don’t.

I think there’s a way to clean it up and I clean any of my devices rather meticulously because I don’t enjoy the idea of looking at other people’s preferences or they getting offered mine. It looks fun but I consider that intrusion to privacy and not a good idea at all.

Using VPN is both free and legal here in India so sometimes I switch to other server if looking for other types of sources, movies etc.

It automatically changes and clears all Google search results too.

And then it’s only “dear Siri, how do you know that “

    😅

While AI is certainly keeping track of what we post and can make correlations on our "behalf", many have speculated that at certain times there appear to be more instances of synchronicity than at other times.
I don't know if anyone knows why--perhaps it's astrological influences or magnetic field variations or something of the sort...???
Whether that would affect AI or not would be an interesting subject of research for scientists and/or psychics.

New device puts music in your head — no headphones required

    By LOUISE DIXON Associated Press
    13 November 2020, 03:30
    • 4 min read

LONDON -- Imagine a world where you move around in your own personal sound bubble. You listen to your favorite tunes, play loud computer games, watch a movie or get navigation directions in your car — all without disturbing those around you.

That's the possibility presented by “sound beaming,” a new futuristic audio technology from Noveto Systems, an Israeli company. On Friday it will debut a desktop device that beams sound directly to a listener without the need for headphones.

The company provided The Associated Press with an exclusive demo of the desktop prototype of its SoundBeamer 1.0 before its launch Friday.

The listening sensation is straight out of a sci-fi movie. The 3-D sound is so close it feels like it’s inside your ears while also in front, above and behind them.

Noveto expects the device will have plenty of practical uses, from allowing office workers to listen to music or conference calls without interrupting colleagues to letting someone play a game, movie or music without disturbing their significant others.

The lack of headphones means it's possible to hear other sounds in the room clearly.

The technology uses a 3-D sensing module and locates and tracks the ear position sending audio via ultrasonic waves to create sound pockets by the user’s ears. Sound can be heard in stereo or a spatial 3-D mode that creates 360 degree sound around the listener, the company said.

The demo includes nature video clips of swans on a lake, bees buzzing and a babbling brook, where the listener feels completely transported into the scene.

But even CEO Christophe Ramstein finds it hard to put the concept into words. “The brain doesn’t understand what it doesn’t know," he said.

In a Noveto demonstration conducted via Zoom from Tel Aviv, SoundBeamer Product Manager Ayana Wallwater was unable to hear the sound of gunshots on a gaming demo.

That's the point. But she does get to enjoy the reactions of people trying the software for the first time.

“Most people just say, ‘Wow, I really don’t believe it,’" she said.

“You don’t believe it because it sounds like a speaker, but no one else can hear it…it’s supporting you and you’re in the middle of everything. It’s happening around you.”

By changing a setting, the sound can follow a listener around when they move their head. It's also possible to move out of the beam's path and hear nothing at all, which creates a surreal experience.

“You don’t need to tell the device where you are. It’s not streaming to one exact place,” Wallwater said.

“It follows you wherever you go. So it’s personally for you — follows you, plays what you want inside your head.”

“This is what we dream of,” she adds. “A world where we get the sound you want. You don’t need to disturb others and others don’t get disturbed by your sound. But you can still interact with them.”

After his first listening experience Ramstein asked himself how it was different from other audio devices.

“I was thinking, ‘Yeah, but is it the same with headphones?’ No, because I have the freedom and it’s like I have the freedom of doing what I want to do. And I have these sounds playing in my head as there would be something happening here, which is difficult to explain because we have no reference for that.”

While the concept of sound beaming is not new, Noveto was the first to launch the technology and their SoundBeamer 1.0 desktop device will be the first branded consumer product.

Ramstein said a “smaller, sexier” version of the prototype will be ready for consumer release in time for Christmas 2021.

“You know, I was trying to think how we compare sound beaming with any other inventions in history. And I think the only one that came to mind is… the first time I tried the iPod I was like, ‘Oh, my God. What’s that?’ I think sound beaming is something that is as disruptive as that. There’s something to be said about it doesn’t exist before. There’s the freedom of using it. And it’s really amazing.”

For my work and personal life, i don't use Google at all, i use Yandex and mail.ru, i have experienced the same situation as on this thread however. It's not just the tool, but where is your data going to?

If all the tools we use distribute this information to some central places, then it does not matter what tool you chose to use, because your data ends up on the same place in the end, at the hands of people who will misuse it for their own goals. And we are at that point right now

I tested this by the way

I created two separate accounts, i logged into one and watched a few videos and subscribed to a few youtube channels, then i logged into the second account and did the same

And then i went into my real account and guess what, the channel i had subscribed on the first account, was a "suggestion" from youtube on my real account

It was all tied up and figured out by my internet connection and device id, regardless of which account i was using

If you are logged out, they still know who you are because your ip is logged and they can track it back to your location, and anyone else on the same house shares the same external ip so now your family is also correlated and you are all being tracked by statistic machines constantly watching over every single thing you do on the internet

Oh and your Internet provider is on the game as well, so yeah, every single thing you do on the internet, is logged forever and adds to the statistics

    That's how it works

It’s a popular belief that your IPs and location can be tracked with precision.

In reality: internet providers use filters to mask and redirect IPs , for safety of their users.

If you are registered to a place with name etc., or a company or an office it is -paradoxically- much easier to track your location especially if you stay on it for longer time.

As a “nameless user” ( someone with no history of offences against the internet conspiracy) especially a mobile user, your internet provider already counterfeits search engines by default.
We have tested this number of times using IP tracker with friends on forum years ago and the location was always a redirect, secondly , it’s changed from one day to another.

In best case ( and unless you use a VPN) it tracks user to a country and a county, district or a town. The coordinates it gives are always a redirect.

Under the recent emergency lockdown in India I have noticed that my IP location was listed anywhere from Harayana to Punjab while I’m in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

When I was in Prague, the IP location would often locate itself on the outskirts of town or some kind of village nearby.

That’s how in case of criminal investigations they need lots of permissions and keep observing activities of the particular user for longer time before they can track them down, it’s not that the system reveals your true coordinates automatically.

But then again this differs from country to country and what kind of systems and security laws they apply. In some countries like in China I presume people get tracked and caught by the system almost “on spot” because the law allows it and there are no filters protecting average -non criminal- users.

In most other countries it depends on user permissions and whether you can be tracked by the system and found.

Yes this is very correct, however even if the "public ip" is not directly related to your ISP assigned "account", for the companies like Google, Amazon etc, it doesn't matter, the IP is still unique at a time, and your account is linked to it, so even if the IP changes, once you log into your account from a new IP address, you are back "on the list" with the new IP

It's all about correlating these numbers. And AI machines are very good at that

Yes, I am aware about that, and I do not use google products either, with exception of 1 email which I download using Thunderbird, I do not really know how bad is the Ads inside the web email (Gmail, I know youtube sucks but I use youtube-dl to download the videos and watch in a player like mpv), but for what I heard, it seems pretty nasty trackers working full time on people's browser.
It is basically a proprietary ECMAScript that runs on a server side of these companies and interact with the ECMAScript on client side executing shady code to compromise the user giving out all sort of data.

Here is a small list of what they are looking for:
    - referrer, search terms
    - browser name/version, platform and device names
    - country, state and city
    - ISP, provider or carrier names
    - area and zipcode
    - timezone and language
    - IP addresses (public and private) and connection type
    - screen size and orientation
    - font face (unbelivable how it tells a lot about someone personallity)
    - and all content typed.

Here is a very good info and code about persistent cookies and other techniques https://github.com/samyk/evercookie (some of the techniques is already out of date, but others still working) to collect data from users.

I did a few tests, it is very dynamic to describe here, but I will try to go to the point, basically there is 2 scenarios that we should be aware when using a browser, both using a VPN or Tor and a specific DNS (not the DNS provided by the ISP), one scenario is allowing JavaScript and the other is not allowing at all and see what sort of data can be collected.

In both scenarios one must be aware of the following:
    - webRTC must be disabled by default (it is already in modern browsers), 'cause STUN servers can grab your real IP address even when you are behind proxy.
    - most average websites developers won't care about going down the rabbit hole to grab your real location, but the giant tech will run proprietary code on you without your consent.
    - keep your environment simple, installation of anything must be done consciously otherwise you can become compromised and even become a zombie bot.
    - ISP won't cloak your IP address as many people think they do, actually when you do a traceroute you can see pretty well in the reverse DNS (hostname) returned and this info alone will be enough to track the user to the exactly location, after all the ISP has all the personal data and address.
    - check in your router if UPNP is enable, and disable it if you do not need it to be enable.

    First scenario:

The process to grab an IP address is very simple if one is not behind a proxy, but when a client is behind a proxy (it can be one or more like proxy chained or Tor), things can get much harder, and proprietary ECMAScript code will be necessary in order to evaluate "the" external code (from a remote server) in your browser, many websites today make use of the localStorage on the user's computer to store all sort of data, some of the scripts can make use of eval() function to evaluate and execute external code and there is just a few mitigation techniques, but it is not easy to apply and require time and dedication, in other words, turn off javascript in your browser if you can live without.
In case of Tor, the IP address will always be loopback (127.0.0.1), it is virtually impossible to grab the public IP of Tor users, but in reality it is possible to narrow down one's location, but takes time and effort, also the generic configs in the browser make everybody look equal, which is a great thing for anonymity, I prefer Tor over VPN.
Also browsers has a function to allow the user to give their geoLocation which is a bad idea if one is concerned about anonymity and privacy, STUN servers for example return that info without even asking the user permission for that, fortunately all browsers by default block requests from that now because they had acknowledge how bad it was to just allow it by default.
A simple traceroute executed on the client side can give up the ISP public IP addr. and it is possible to execute it using NodeJS + raw-sockets, even when someone is behind a VPN which will open a virtual network interface like TUN, a basic command would be `traceroute -i eth0 <target>`, setting options with system flags like `SO_BINDTODEVICE` (linux only) would help but most of the flags are OS dependent, in some OS it will require special permissions to be executed in others no.
If one has UPNP enabled in their router it can be exploited and it will leak public IP, as far as I know most routers disabled it by default now, but still be a threat because this function is built in in almost all routers, another thing is to never allow remote access in your home router, because it can be searchable using online tools like https://www.shodan.io/

    Second scenario:
Turn Off JavaScript, none of the above will be possible, Tor browser has an option to choose the security level, which is Higher (disabled completly javascript), medium (allow scripts to be executed on demand) and lower (enable javascript but still block trackers, third party cookies and many other nasty things)

I would recommend use of PGP or GPG for encrypt email/files and P2P messengers or XMPP federated servers (if one can trust the server or create your own).

Never trust an ISP company, always change the DNS settings, IP address, disabled IPv6 in the router, UPNP, etc.. encrypt your content and files when possible and the ISP will always get a scrambled data due to encryption and the metadata of course, but metadata alone won't say much, because the content message itself will not revealed and I can live with that, for now.

The thing with LINE App happened because my wife basically doesn't understand about privacy or anonymity and other technical issues, I don't think she will ever care that much about it. By the way my wife is chef and in her phone all Ads are related to Kitchen appliances, restaurants, realstate (commercial spaces), food related in general.. lol

In my computer I got zero Ads, it is all blocked by DNS or by browser add-on or by filtering in the iptables, it is been like that for many years, I feel relatively safe using internet, of course there is tons of things I don't know but I am wiling to learn and mitigate as much issues as I can.

It is the strength of your subconscious that sent you a sign to your inner request. I would say that we have unlimited powers that we don't use because we are not aware of it naturally. At this stage of your evolution, you changed frequencies at this time. I experienced this phenomenon not long ago, a sort of quantum leap, of direct sensory decoding. A subtle experience, to enter another dimension of our reality for the space of a second, that we would like to keep for an eternity by the extraordinary ephemeral and growing sensation for the soul connected to the source. Faith nourishes belief and move forward on our own inner path ... One hand extended to another invisible hand, the ultimate contact

    👌

What if it is not that computer is reading your mind, but that you are affecting the computer with your mind?

We know that our thoughts are way more powerful than many people realise, and that our thoughts can affect reality in great ways.
