Default Where do you get your information about world events?

Today, something happened in the queue outside the shop where I work and I couldn't see it from behind the counter, so needed to investigate... As only one person can be inside at once, each person could give me an honest account. Four people told me what happened, and I heard four different stories. It reminded me that our individual realities are subjective by nature, and that we need to listen to a range of perspectives to build a fuller picture of anything.

I need to expand the range of perspectives which contribute to my world view, so would love to hear about your favourite/trusted sources for learning about world events. Please share links to media information sources you like, for example you tube/bit chute channels, newspapers/specific journalists, blogs, podcasts, forums, journals and suchlike.

If you've a minute or two to write about why you feel it's worth giving attention to any particular source which you recommend then I'd very much appreciate that too.

    Thanks for any recommendations!

Create a search engine that blocks all big MSM (radio, tv, sites, 'science magazines', blogs, YouTube, twitter etc. etc.) ... and what is left may help you to find other insights beyond the mass conditioning.

I has a "Add on" on Mozilla Fire Fox to alter Google Search to block most MSM I used it on a different computers ... forgot what the name of that "add on" is.

    cheers,
    John

    --update edit:--

I found it: "Personal Blocklist (not by Google)"

Start blocking PUSHED search results like:

CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, The New York Times, Politico, Washington Post, Alternet, BuzzFeedNews, Daily Beast, HuffPost, The Intercept, Jacobin, Mother Jones, Bloomberg, Newsweek, The New Yorker, The Nation, Slate, Vox, AP, The Atlantic, The Guardian, NPR, ProPublica, Time, Yahoo News.

    • try different settings of this filter to show a list (overview) of BIAS media Left or Right.

    • Most Americans Think All Network News Channels Lean Liberal, Poll Finds

Most (if not all) "scientific" research on media bias uses WRONGFULLY the label "far right" to certain news outlets NOT because they are "extreme right" but because they themselves are heavily conditioned 24/7 by the far left thus the distance to conservatives is perceived as "far right" but is FACTUAL NOT! ... It is just their perception!

Same for alleged "neutral" news outlets ... they are FAR from "neutral" when applying (self-)censorship to serve "political correctness" assuming they are beyond left & right but more than often are NOT and lie to themselves posing as being so "righteous". Examples of contradictions & hypocrisies are endless.

What I personally find extremely annoying is how MSM asks bias "questions" filled with false assumptions in a Presidential Debate. The time it takes to correct all BS-assumptions takes more time than answering more intelligent questions that serves humanity as a whole.

I would say I get a good deal of it here, at Avalon. the fact that we have a worldwide membership, anything from anywhere of any significance will probably show up here readily.

Almost all European countries here have their own Corporate MSM Propaganda pushing the Globalists Agenda2030 24/7 ... it takes effort to find real honest & professional alternative news.

If we gonna use them as "sources" is only to show how the mass conditioning (brainwashing) is happening 24/7. So many examples of that. Then we can use a special altered search-engine to counter their narrow globalist pushed agenda!

Here in Holland (The Netherlands) we have about 30 medium size Alternative Media outlets!

Default Re: Where do you get your information about world events?

I have always had a different view when it came to Journalism, "Reporters", news shows and such. When I was in school, we did a few things that quite surprised me. The first being, we were put into groups and told to "Create a news show"... I was given the weather.. I was young, and really not allowed to watch television, or at the very least choose what to watch, and my mother never bought the newspaper.

When my group came up for our turn to "Give the News", and it was my turn to do the weather? I had no idea what the terms they used meant, low pressure, etc.. I was no scientist... I muddled through the images shown in our presentation, but the overall effect was not only baffling, I was upset.

We were not instructed to find our own news, we were told to find a news program and essentially copy it. I quickly came to learn that a reporter is nothing more than someone given the task of taking someone else's information, and sharing it as their own factual findings to the masses.. Essentially taking it to a new "Port", and retelling someone else's versions of an event. "Relocating" the same trash... So who is to say any of the original telling of the information was accurate, or even true, when you have all news stations getting their information from the same select sources?

A journalist? In my definition, would be someone who goes somewhere perhaps very controversial, and takes notes in their journal... This would include details of facts that could be checked and later challenged.. Yet today we seem to have again, only one source, and many "Journalists" retelling the same persons version of events, and no one checking "facts" aside from spelling, and perhaps making sure they have the source names written properly... And now "Sources" are protected ... Not for safety for the most part on their behalf, but on the behalf of the agency spreading the same tales from being sued, for sharing information they can not prove. But they have us convinced it is for the safety of the source. Believe me they wouldn't be safe even if their name was withheld if they shared such controversial information as our media wishes us to believe, they just wanted immunity from protection against us, the public.

I believe we will never get truth unless we have witness testimony. This means those sharing the facts and or details must have been there.. Or they're sharing actual evidence that what is being said actually happened, yet we have the news solving crimes before airtime with nothing more than pretty people holding microphones, standing in front of flashing emergency lights these days, calling their version of events the facts..

We really need to wake up.. As we are being groomed, and have been for a very long time, to be nothing more than puppets.

I have to say that the alt media is following this mold as well.. Each new presenter just shopping around at the same conventions for the next new witness. And they seem to go from presenter to presenter until their material is spread equally among the market for such information. It is almost worse now however, as we have begun to make those giving the presentations, the stage.. Where they now are the new "presenters of knowledge", as if the interviews they have done with supposed active people in the field is now their knowledge..

I do like that many people interview these people however as some may have better questions than others.. But we really are following a not only outdated model, but one that is broken. I believe we should just let these people tell their information, and not ask too many questions, as this guides interviews..

I have to say this is one thing that bothers me the most is when the presenters of such information "Opens up" their interviews to the questions of guests... They ask the stupidest questions of people that never claimed to have any information in those subjects.. Then they go out and claim their "guess", or "Opinion" is somehow a fact!

Hate to say it but Camelot does this, and it is terrible. I have heard Kerry ask questions of her guests that were asked in chat that have nothing to do with the subject matter their discussing. Personally, I never would do this.. Or at the very least would suggest that this is not the topic of the interview and it isn't relevant and leads to opinions...
