Conservative Party ministerial and secretarial resignations are coming in thick and fast, now falling like dominoes. There's no way Johnson can survive. If he doesn't resign, there is a potential procedural mechanism that can be deployed to force him out.

While all this is superficially about ethics and integrity, clearly the backdrop of the UK's stark economic crisis, and the way so many things have been grossly mishandled, is a major component of the situation.

He is delusional, but Starmer is a no-go in opposition, ghastly repertoire of plans, leading us into more dire situations.

There is no doubt in my mind that this was a deliberate cyber attack on the entire Roger's Cable network which affects phone, internet, banking, retail financial processing etc. etc.

This Cyberpolygon event scheduled for today must have given the attackers a target and date and time
to strike to get maximum effect.

I was at the car boot sale today, talking to one of my favourite sellers and he told me about an explosion at an apartment block in Bedford which is close to where he lives. He had to drive by it today and he said it looked like war damage, it was that bad.

There is no gas supply in the building; it's rumoured in the area that a resident was using a gas stove to cook in order to minimise electricity use. If that's true, all that damage has its roots in the rampant inflation in this country. From ITV News:

Flames ripped through the three-storey block of flats in Redwood Grove in Bedford on Monday (July 4).

Despite warning that they may find further bodies in the wreckage of the building, today (Thursday July 7) investigators said they had now accounted for everyone and were becoming more hopeful that no more lives had been lost.

That comes as the body of the one known victim to have died has been recovered.

Bedfordshire Police worked with structural engineers and fire investigators to recover the body.

A post mortem examination is due to be held tomorrow, while formal identification is yet to take place, officers are supporting the believed next of kin.

Hmm, the largest gas bottle likely to have been portable up several floors is 13kg, I really can't imagine that size of gas bottle being able to do that much damage, esp during a heatwave when everyone has got their windows open, even more so on the top floor where it's going to be hotter & it's far less likely someone could climb in.

Could be... I don't know that much about the explosive qualities of gas canisters, crystal meth factory maybe? They're supposed to be very volatile, I believe?

I do remember a gas explosion in York when I lived up there a few years ago, apparently the gas pipe feed to the house was old and faulty. It destroyed the house and killed the man who was home at the time.
