"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi left Taiwan Wednesday after a visit that inflamed US tensions with China — which is responding with its largest military drills in more than 25 years in what experts warned could be “seen as an act of war.”

The defiant 82-year-old California Democrat and her delegation flew out of Taipei after a roughly 19-hour visit that was the first by a House speaker in 25 years.

Pelosi’s trip had so enraged mainland China that the country’s most popular social media platform, Weibo, crashed for about 30 minutes, confirming it was overstretched as several hashtags racked up several billion views.

“This old she-devil, she actually dares to come!” popular blogger Xiaoyuantoutiao wrote, adding that they had gone to bed “so angry I could not sleep.”

"The drills would include live fire and test launches of conventional missiles, according to the Chinese state news agency Xinhua.

At least half of the six areas where the drills are planned to take place appear to infringe on Taiwanese waters, according to Arthur Zhin-Sheng Wang, a defense studies expert at Taiwan’s Central Police University.

Using live fire in a country’s territorial airspace or waters “can possibly be seen as an act of war,” Wang warned."

"“Such an act equals to sealing off Taiwan by air and sea … and severely violates our country’s territorial sovereignty,” Taiwanese Capt. Jian-chang Yu said at a briefing by the National Defense Ministry.

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen insisted Wednesday that the island of 23 million would not be cowed.

“Facing deliberately heightened military threats, Taiwan will not back down,” Tsai during her meeting with Pelosi."

Of course it looks suspicious considering the people involved and the circumstances.

On the other hand - if you have been out driving on the roads lately, you probably have noticed many drivers drifting over the centre line or onto the shoulder of the road.

I remember my early years of driving. During the holiday season I had to watch out for drunk drivers as they could be seen weaving in and out of their lane. Now, everyday is like driving on New Year's eve.

Now with that said, disguising a death as being a traffic accident seems pretty easy these days.

Question: Since Republican Representative Jackie Walorski was the ranking member of the House Ethics Committee, was she just murdered today, in what is reported as a car accident, as a warning to others on that committee to not investigate Pelosi's husband further? Of course, there is no mention of any such connection in the mainstream media.

Now the sheriff in the county where the accident occurred claims that it was Walorski's car that crossed the center line and hit the other car head on. If she was murdered, this makes much more sense as to how, as her car might have been remotely controlled, or fiddled with before the accident.

An Austin jury on Thursday decided Infowars host Alex Jones must pay at least $4.1 million to the family of a 6-year-old killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting for the suffering he and his website and broadcast caused them by spreading lies about the 2012 massacre.

Scarlett Lewis and Neil Heslin, whose son Jesse died alongside 19 of his classmates and six educators at the school in Newtown, Connecticut, had sought $150 million for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

An attorney for Jones, who has repeatedly suggested that the Sandy Hook shooting was a hoax, asked jurors to award Heslin and Lewis only $1.

The jury was only asked to decide whether Jones, who has already been found liable by a judge because he did not hand over critical evidence before the trial began, must also pay Jesse's parents for the emotional distress and reputational damage caused by his false claims. The jury will also decide whether to award punitive damages. The panel will hear testimony on that subject Friday.

The trial included testimony from both parents and Jones, who has portrayed the lawsuit as an attack on his First Amendment rights. Following the shooting, he had asserted that it was fabricated and included crisis actors. He later acknowledged that it took place.

His attorney, Andino Reynal, argued that Jones has paid for his mistake by losing millions of followers after he was removed from social media platforms in 2018.

“He made a terrible mistake,” Reynal told jurors, referring to Jones. “That mistake was weaponized by the same political forces that had descended upon Sandy Hook when it happened.” "

(It sounds like Alex Jones really dug himself into a deep hole (possibly including perjury) with this trial.)

"WASHINGTON, D.C. – Four people were injured Thursday evening after lightning struck near the White House, sending police scrambling to help victims in Lafayette Park.

A spokesperson for District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department said uniformed agents from the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Park Police were the first on scene and provided life-saving aid until paramedics arrived.

Firefighters reported two men and two women were transported to local hospitals in critical condition

Lafayette Park is a popular site for tourists who visit D.C. to take pictures outside the White House.

Police did not disclose whether the victims were tourists or knew about the incoming storm.

Firefighters believe the lightning strike happened near the Andrew Jackson statue, not far from Pennsylvania Avenue.

Doppler radar showed strong storms moving through the region shortly before 7 p.m. with lightning that impacted the heart of the District of Columbia."

Why has Pope Francis ordered all Vatican affiliated entities to transfer ALL FUNDS and assets to the Vatican Bank?

Francis’ rescript specifies that all financial and liquid assets held in banks other than the IOR must be moved to the Vatican bank within 30 days of Sept. 1, 2022.

The IOR stands for, Institute for Works of Religion. According to the National Catholic Register the IOR is not a bank, but rather a financial institution:

Though commonly called a “bank,” the IOR is technically a financial institute, with no branches, working within Vatican City State to provide services to clients, which include the Holy See and connected entities, religious orders, clergy, Catholic institutions, and Holy See employees.

The IOR saw its number of clients decline by 472, from 14,991 clients at the end of 2020 to 14,519 in 2021. Nearly half of its clients in 2019 were religious orders.

According to its annual report, the financial institution’s $19 million net profit in 2021 was also down from $44 million in 2020 and $46 million in 2019.

There are multiple reason the Vatican could be ordering all funds to be transferred to the IOR. One reason could be the imminent collapse of the international monetary system that has been predicted by economists for many years now. Jim Rickards, one of the most respected economists in the world, had this to say recently:

Look, I’ve been studying monetary economics for about 50 years. All of my research has led me to one conclusion — we’re going to see the collapse of the international monetary system.

When I say that, I specifically mean a collapse in confidence in paper currencies around the world. It’s not just the death of the dollar or the demise of the euro. It’s a collapse of confidence in all paper currencies.

Over the past century, monetary systems have changed about every 30–40 years on average. Before 1914, the global monetary system was based on the classical gold standard.

Today, the existing monetary system is over 50 years old, so the world is long overdue for a new monetary system.
