Default Quebec now endures 8pm curfew

Police show heavy presence fining people who were outside after 8pm.

Saw a video where police cars driving slowly through neighbourhoods with sirens blaring just to incite fear obviously.

    HTML Code:

Saturday marked the first day of Quebec’s new curfew policy, unveiled by the province on Wednesday in an effort to contain the explosive spread of COVID-19.

Since that announcement, more than 7,000 cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Quebec.

"We're talking here about saving lives and we're talking about saving our health-care system," said Premier Francois Legault during a Wednesday press conference.

While demonstrations are still allowed by the province, the rules say they must take place before 8 p.m., and attendants must wear masks.

Anyone caught outside after 8 p.m. without a valid reason for being there, such as a personal emergency or a note from work, can be fined between $1000 and $6000.

Though the curfew applies across the province, just how it is enforced is expected to vary by region.

In a Thursday press conference, Deputy Premier Genevieve Guilbault said the province is giving agency to local police responsible for handing out tickets.

“Police are used to showing judgment and discernment,” said Guilbault.

**NOTE** I have many people working for many weeks and they are tested each week - not one single person has tested positive for covid. These people are working outside and interact with people on a daily basis.

Where are all of these new cases coming from?

    Also being considered for Ontario.
(wow - fines up to $6000)

Ontario considering implementing curfew similar to Quebec’s, sources say

Government sources tell Global News that Ontario is considering implementing a curfew similar to the one in Quebec.

The government is reportedly considering having the measures in place from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. It would mean that most residents could not leave their properties during that time.

Sources said there would be exemptions for essential workers and some others.

In Quebec, a curfew came into effect on Saturday with violators facing fines of up to $6,000. It’s set to remain in effect until Feb. 8. There are exemptions for essential workers, people walking their dogs, and a few others.

Am emergency broadcast was sent throughout Quebec ahead of the curfew that read in part: “Citizens are prohibited from leaving their homes or yards between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., under penalty of fines. Police surveillance has been increased.”

Again, I can say that I know many people working amongst the public that require covid testing on a weekly basis and we have not seen a positive result in months!! If there was an increase in cases that would require this kind of enforcement you would think that I would have heard of at least ONE positive test from those people.

I am amazed that such a huge population of people are so simply accepting this - are the woke masses only us? Hello!?

At this rate, we will soon not ever be allowed to go anywhere and have to do all of our shopping online. Oh wait, we just ordered and paid for stuff through a store to "pick up at the curb" but now after arriving there to pick it up, we are told we have to wait a day for them to get it off of the shelf and bring it out. And not a big order people - just a set of headphones from Best Buy. (which is starting to fail as the best buy)

This must be a new process to frustrate people from going out to pick up their goods. Ordering online through Amazon is just as fast except you don't have to leave your home.

First Australia as the test, then the UK and now Canada - smaller population than either US or Mexico and then probably state by state.

Patient is starting to lose patience.

Yeah, our Prime Minister is a douch bag and a globalist as much as Trudeau is. And the worse about it is that the sheeps over here demand more restrictions. That's how much the brainwash is strong...I've never been so ashame of my province, my country.

Good luck to you all over here in Québec!!

Trudeau is like a broken mole on a "whack a mole" game machine. He does not show up anywhere so you can't even take a swing at him.

On the other hand, Quebec is a beautiful province. I have been to Quebec City in the winter and it's like a fantasy winter wonderland! Skiing Mt St. Anne with a huge dump of fresh powdered snow fall - if anyone ever gets the chance to go - I highly suggest that you do!

I was with my dad for the holidays. I would say he represents the majority of folks of that generation.
I tried explaining some things, showed him videos, even if he sees with his own eyes, he does not believe.
He listens to the news all day long and is totally galvanized and brainwashed with what the news mentions.
They lived in times where the colonization powers had a heavy hand, thats all they know.
    They follow orders period.
So the younger generation here has it tough as they are judged by most people with their rebellion and it's seen as plain stupid!
    SO
As much of the rest of the world I guess, we are left to strategize intelligently for the futur.
I tend to stay low on the radar and not mention much as it's makes things more difficult.
It's not about being weak but rather intelligent in how we have to do things going forward.
Find your tribe members and grow the thing silently until we have the power of numbers all walking in the same direction.
Also, it's very discouraging, but it's a reality: "journalism" with an opinion is all we see on TV, none of them are neutral.
They can afford to do this as they have the general population backing them up.
It was a long holiday season I have to say.
Waking up everyday with a positive and loving attitude towards my dad who is not a bad person, until the TV is opened.
I walked 11 km's a day on average just to calm down.
    :-)

Yes, and CBC was good years back. We would hear much more truth, but now they are the same as all of the other networks.

Some of us noticed the change, and unfortunately many did not.

Hey Olam, you know that if we both walked 11km towards each other, we are that much closer. So if you ever find yourself near the great lakes, then we could be local tribe members.

I like to think of how close we all are to each other. And I am sure there are others' in between.

    That would be great .
We can't meet right now I gather, let's get thru the next month or so, after the curfew and see what we can do.

Default Re: Quebec now endures 8pm curfew

With this nonsensical and perhaps unconstitutional curfew, Premier François Legault seems to have gone out of his way to prove to his globalist masters that he is a hard-core advocate of The Great Reset, about which Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum has proudly stated:
"The pandemic represents a rare but narrow window of opportunity to reflect, reimagine, and reset our world"

Incidentally, François Legault had announced on Twitter, some three and a half years ago, that he had read The Fourth Industrial Revolution, by Klaus Schwab:

Regarding the province-wide 8 pm to 5 am curfew that was launched yesterday and that is currently planned to last 4 weeks, the vast majority of the population appears for right now to be politely or numbly compliant, although it was reported that over 200 tickets were handed across Quebec on the first night of curfew.

It is clear from some of the comments that I have read online that some citizens welcome the government's tyrannical overreach, saying that it is for the good of all.

But there is also a small segment of the population that not only questions the government's new draconian measure, but also wonders about the real motive behind it...

Here's a political cartoon from a local artist that I came across on Twitter, yesterday:

    Translation:

    François Legault's week-end book reading

It's not Arruda the clown (Quebec public health director)
who will tell me what to do!
    Lock-down: check!
    Restaurants, schools, gyms, etc.: check!
    Curfew: check!
    Mandatory vaccine...
    This is where we're at.

After many weeks of an 8 pm curfew in Melbourne, it was finally admitted that this did little to stop "infections" - As has been the case with lockdown restrictions no one would admit who proposed the curfew. A week later it was dropped

We have vans driving around neighborhoods, called Enforcement, they literally look into your living room window (while driving the lazy cts) to see if you adhere to the new NAzi rules, pardon me, the Corona rules. It sickens me, the same People who'd cry Crocodile tears over the prosecution and murders of others are now actually doing the same thing as the ones turning the victims in back in the day.

They're pushing a vaccine which is in a test phase until December of 2023, if you get something from it that could make you an invalid (not even the dying) one can't sew the pharma feckers because our Govt has made a deal with them making sure one cannot sew (another civil right flushed). So if one needs care for 24hrs around (worst case) you'll end up paying for everything (not just medical), yourself.

There's no real curfew yet here, but they are extending the lockdown in order to be able to postpone the elections.

We live in the age of pretending, the deceived pretend that all is fine, the system in its own right will take care of the likes of us in the meantime using the deceived, again pretending we're nuts but they aren't.

Stay strong, do not cave and please, do not take that shot if you do not feel like it, let no one tell you otherwise (unfort same if you do want cause it's your decisions).

So I called my buddy in Montreal on the weekend. Asked him if he had his travel papers in order. He said yes, at the office. He's in snow removal so he is exempt from the curfew. I asked how he felt about the lock down. He said something has to be done because too many people are dying. I asked him how many people you think have died. He said over 375,000. I said no, that's America. I said our death toll is around 50,000. He would not believe me. I asked how he felt about being a criminal overnight, and welcome to the club, as I have complained to him long ago about waking up to new laws that automatically made me a criminal. He said what do you mean? I said well, you being an Italian, you have your family get togethers at least once a week. Each time you do you break the law. He said who cares. I said that makes you a hypocrite. You agree with a law you have every intention of violating...

Canada's "official" death toll for COVID is 17,000. Our total death toll (all deaths - all causes) for 2020 is 300,000.

Yes, I knew I had overstated the case on the number of deaths. It makes no difference. My bud cannot add anyway. Not his forte.

In Spain we have a 10pm curfew. It has worked because there is a vibrant night culture here. We don't like it but we have not had another lockdown like in March, schools remain open, shops are all open. However, in different cultures a night curfew would only be symbolic gesture, I am sure without the curfew numbers would remain the same. The real losers in Spain have been the bars and restaurants, but they had to be sacarficed to allow us to return to normailty so from 18.30 they can only offer take away.

10pm makes some sense and is a bit more reasonable. But why not just close the nightclubs and make all the facilities close at 10:00pm - rather than controlling individual's right to movement?

I agree on bar and restaurant restrictions, but I'll give an example of the some of the stupidity happening ... In Calgary Alberta, last summer, contact tracing revealed that the spread (outside of nursing homes) was mainly happening in bars, restaurants and gyms and that there was an uptick in cases. So the city, in response, decided to mandate that everyone in the entire city wear masks, with the exceptions being - drinking at a bar or eating at a restaurant, then you don't have to wear a mask.

It literally seemed like they wanted two things 1) the virus to keep spreading 2) everyone to wear a mask. According to the general stats, the mask mandate appeared to not have helped, either - but maybe the numbers were tainted because the places where it was being spread didn't have to enforce them. Why they didn't just close bars and restaurants again, I don't know.
When you are one step ahead of the crowd, you are a genius.
Two steps ahead, and you are deemed a crackpot.

Areas where the public can gather are the perfect place to spread...immunity. Exposed and done with. We can't have that. We have to save our nurses from long hard hours of doing their job, we're told.

One thing we know, very few will die from covid, and only a small fraction will even contract the so-called disease if exposed.

Here's a thought. Why not do an experiment. Get ten covid patients in a room. Send in a healthy individual. Time how long before or if they catch the virus. Then extrapolate proper precautions based on empirical data.

Oh right, we don't do that either. Too determinative, not enough wiggle room.
