Default Manuka honey! and a breakthrough for me regarding heartburn

Perhaps this should be posted in Health section but I felt important for many to see.

As of the last several years or so, I have been suffering from a worsening of heartburn and it really sucks, mostly preventing me from sleep.
I will admit that during this stressful year, I was eating late, drinking a bit too much whisky and wine, living alone in this boring repetitive and stressful reality we have all been facing.

But I made a huge discovery and hope this helps others. I always remember my dad taking antacids, etc for the same problem, and I figured me at 67 now, its my turn and probably genetics.

But then I started WAKING UP with heartburn. While with my son playing simulator golf ,It came on again and I took a big glass of water. Well it got worse! why, I thought

So heres the point many may already know.
Antacids were the last thing i needed. I have too little stomach acid
This causes food not to digest, then ferment in the stomach and all the rest

So I started doing research and found a great combination of supplements for increasing stomach acid. And It worked! I started to get a handle on it. It has taken a little testing to get a balance but I finally cured this horrible curse. No gastro DR guy needed

I also read to take a spoon of Manuka Honey in the morning and before bed. I have been doing this and Im no longer clearing my throat from what I feel was the damaging of my espophagas from constant stomach acid coming up.

I was ready to make an appointment with an ENT and climb aboard the Doc and Pharma train .

Thank goodness for my own common sense that helped me end this.

Absolutely, my friendsí beehives provided me with fantastic honey, a teaspoonful afore bed alleviated heartburn. Still drank loads of water in the night.
There is a link between thyroid function/liver function which causes symptoms of hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar).
Drinking lots of water isnít necessarily the solution, but mixing it with honey is great. Also, keep dextrosol tablets nearby, that alleviates heartburn. Get your bloods done for thyroid malfunction. Gargle with colloidal silver to avoid sore throat problems due to potential reflux.

    LOL Target

well the manuka honey is a large teaspoon morning and night for me. both cases i take and just let it melt down my throat.

as for the other stuff, i follow what works for me. when eating a fatty or protein meal, it reccomends more stomach acid. ill take one as i start eating, fish chicken meat etc.

but i also took a hydrochloric capsule with a meal and it was a little too much and burned as well. so you have to find out your balance for yourself

What helps for me is natriumbicarbonaat, better known as backing soda (Arm &Hammer).
Before going to sleep, take 1 thee spoon on a smal glass of water. Stir till itís dissolved and drink it.
Often some big belches will follow (because of the combination of natriumbicarbonaat and acid), but it helps for me.

    Give it a try.

I have a friend who had similar symptoms and was diagnosed with a stomach ulcer. Not saying that is what you had but symptoms were very similar. The manuka honey kills the pylori bacteria that can be the cause of it...that is how he cured his plus a change in diet and no alcohol and no more smoking.

    Another possible cause: NO

NO (nitric oxide) is a poisonous gas that is produced by thy body, mainly to fight viruses and fungi. Unfortunately it is produced also in other situations, such as bad blood circulation.

The main effects of NO are:
    • it reacts with almost everything: also destroying vitamins and trace elements to a large mount
    • it makes muscles slack - they cannot contract fully, when NO is present

The second mechanism is the main cause for low blood pressure and - you guess it - for uprising stomach acid.
When the entry muscle of the stomach cannot close, acid will rise up into oesophagus.

    How to help
    1. Fast neutralisation of NO with high doses vitamin B12, for instance 5000 Ķg Lozenge. Do not swallow, B12 is destroyed in the stomach by 99%. It has to be absorbed directly through the oral mucosa.
NO reacts with B12, immediately, destroying both substances.

    2. Search for the cause of increased NO production. There has to be one!
Often the problem are chronic inflammations in the gut.

Deux/ THANKS yes, that I used for a long time. Baking Soda, but that is an acid buffer, and good for too much acid.

My situation is the opposite. I read that as we age, our stomach acid usually decreases.

    im open to all

Speaking of Manuka honey, I have heard that it is excellent for healing wounds. It has been used for bedsores and other types of open wounds with success. Since sticky, it would have to be covered lightly if used on an area that comes in contact with clothing.

this is the opposite of the advice of the OP... you are drinking an ant acid, he is saying the root cause is LOW acid so you would be defeating the purpose for this specific fix (btw I agree that most heartburn is low acidity related).

this is because it's just like coconut oil (anti-everything bad basically... haha)... and really it's just "honey" no brand needed... in fact there are very small differences in most honeys, though if you are trying to defeat allergies its best to use "local" honey.

I use a piece of plain white bread or if that don't work, saltine crackers. Works most of the time. I'm also told that, oddly, lemon works to rebalance stomach acid...

I just read up on NO and saw some stuff from Zach Bush in which it is described as super healthy for the body. So im very curious where you get this information that it would make muscles slack because Zach says about the opposite...

Im having exactly the same problems by the way with too little stomach acid. Sometimes something in my troath, pain in stomach and chest and food that doesnt go down very good. Im trying eating a stem of celery now each morning, bananas, stopped drinking coffee and alcohol. Also breath work because i think my breath is causing the problems.

everyone needs to realize, some may have heart burn for standard reason, too much acid and an antacid will help. but others may have TOO LITTLE acid. You need to figure out which one is you because symptoms are the same

for low acid/ celery juice very good in the mornings. no coffee or alcohol etc. lemon in water helps too as well as apple cider vin. but you need not give all up. you need to discover are you low acid and take things that give you more

MYPOS/ i felt something was in my throat for a over a year. its finally gone since i made these changes.

And MANUKA HONEY FROM NEW ZEALAND IS WHAT YOU NEED.

I am glad to hear that honey kills the creatures that cause abrasions in the stomach. There are also antibiotics against this specific creature. Eating hard items like pizza before bed can cause heartburn. Then I drink water and it goes away. However, I have learned to leave pepper of any kind out of my diet. Alcohol is also abrasive to raw tissues. I have a food steamer so that most of what I eat is soft. It collects the juices from the steamed items which I drink. A sprinkling of ground flax seed over everything ends up in the water and does the job of soothing raw stomach and intestinal linings and softening all body tissues. Men should avoid using large capsules of flax oil as it is a hormone. You need a little but too much will decrease testosterone as flax contains estrogen. For essential fatty acids needed by the brain, heart and all body tissues use fish oils. Just a sprinkle of ground flax seed will prevent constipation also. Learn how to make real home-made lemonade with a dash of bitters in substitution for alcohol. I know its a hard habit to break.

Statins can cause massive heartburn. A doc put me on them for about 2 weeks, 20 years ago. OMG - thought I was going to die, especially at night. The heartburn was horrendous.
That was the end of statins (and the heartburn) for me. It stopped 2 days after I stopped taking them.

everyone needs to realize, some may have heart burn for standard reason, too much acid and an antacid will help. but others may have TOO LITTLE acid.

I find fresh ginger as especially helpful, hot ginger-lemon-honey can do a miracle, cup or two in severe cases. Tibetans drink hot water regularly both on empty stomach and after meals, and it does help to pace digestion as well.

Yoghurts, creams ..and smoothies are also great as they deliver cooling and relaxing experience to the digestion system.

Almost any kind of herb, herbal tea or tea itself can start period of chronic acid relflux that has all kinds of peak and void activity to it so difficult to diagnose.

On the other hand, I would probably recommend supplementing on light salty brews and naturally fermented pickles.

    🙏 the Tin-tin advice to everything 🌟
