Putin ally says Russia has weapons to destroy US if its existence is threatened

An ally of President Vladimir Putin has warned that Russia has the weapons to destroy any enemy, including the United States, if its own existence is threatened, accusing Washington of underestimating Moscow's nuclear might.

The comments from Nikolai Patrushev, the influential secretary of Russia's Security Council, are the latest from a senior Russian official to raise the spectre of a nuclear showdown between the world's two largest nuclear powers, something Moscow says it wants to avoid.

"American politicians trapped by their own propaganda remain confident that, in the event of a direct conflict with Russia, the United States is capable of launching a preventive missile strike, after which Russia will no longer be able to respond. This is short-sighted stupidity, and very dangerous," Patrushev told the state Rossiiskaya Gazeta newspaper on March 27.

"Russia is patient and does not intimidate anyone with its military advantage. But it has modern unique weapons capable of destroying any adversary, including the United States, in the event of a threat to its existence", he said.

Russia has said that one of the reasons why it sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine in February last year in what it calls its "special military operation" was to counter a perceived security threat stemming from Kyiv's rapprochement with the U.S.-led NATO defence alliance.

Since then, Moscow has accused the West, without presenting public evidence, of making nuclear threats against it, and has spoken of its readiness to use nuclear weapons in extreme circumstances if the very existence of the Russian state is imperilled.

On March 25, President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia would station tactical nuclear missiles in its close ally Belarus, which borders both Ukraine and Russia, sending a warning to NATO over its military support for Kyiv and escalating a standoff with the West.

US state to ban property sales to ‘foreign adversaries’
South Carolina’s Senate has passed legislation that aims to prevent the state's from falling into the hands of people or corporations from China, Russia and other countries deemed to be “foreign adversaries.”

The bill, which passed on Thursday by a 31-5 vote, reflects deteriorating US relations with China, according to its backers. The Pentagon has pegged Beijing as the nation’s top security threat. Dozens of Chinese-owned companies already operate in South Carolina, which is also home to thousands of Chinese immigrants and college students.

“There’s been a growing trend across the country generally where China’s become much more belligerent to the United States and our interests,” Senator Josh Kimbrell, a Spartanburg Republican, said earlier this month. “Our objective is not to expose ourselves politically and economically any more than possible to the Chinese government or communist party.”

South Carolina recruited Chinese companies in years past to help bring jobs to the state, but as Kimbrell noted, the mood toward Beijing has clearly shifted. Since 2011, Chinese companies have announced investments that will create an estimated 5,300 jobs.

The state won’t try to force divestitures of land previously purchased by foreign businesses and individuals. The bill was reportedly introduced to block a Chinese company’s planned purchase of 500 acres in South Carolina.

“We need to look inside that wooden horse before we let it in the gate,” Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey told the Associated Press last week. “And there are some countries that have given us more of a reason to look...”

The US Department of Commerce classifies five countries, China, Russia, Iran, Cuba and North Korea as adversarial.

Legislatures in at least 11 other US states are considering bills that would limit or ban real estate ownership by foreign adversaries. After last month’s controversy over an alleged Chinese spy balloon that crossed the US, lawmakers have raised concerns that enemy nations could use land ownership to advance their surveillance operations.

The South Carolina bill would ban property purchases by companies with greater than 20% ownership by citizens of adversary nations. Citizens of those countries would be allowed to open businesses in the state, but they or their companies wouldn’t be able to own the properties they occupy.

About the new commander of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces Andrey Kuzmenko

Two days ago, the Russian Network was agitated by the news of the resignation of the commander of the Eastern Military District, Colonel-General Rustam Muradov . Although Muradov was praised for his experience in dealing with issues while commanding a peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, during the special military operation, the actions of Group V raised many questions.

As a result, Muradov was officially sent on vacation. And the post of commander of the group was taken by Lieutenant General Andrey Kuzmenko . He is best remembered as the head of the Department of Management at the Military Academy of the General Staff.

After that, he managed to take the post of deputy commander of the Southern Military District. Now he got the zone of responsibility of the Eastern Military District.

Officers familiar with Kuzmenko characterize him as "the most simple general" in the best possible sense: as they say, it is easy to find a common language with him.

Whether or not the situation in Ugledar, Marinka, Gulyai-Pole and Orekhovo will change with the arrival of Andrey Kuzmenko, we will find out in the near future.

I wrote this summary piece on Quora 5 years ago, I had completely forgotten about it until a lady upvoted this today - it contains material observations which will be nothing new to many on this forum, but it does predict the present unfolding of the 'Ultimate War' and how Trump was mostly a massive distraction and Psyop to keep the disenfranchised working class of America on the hook. Speaking of WWIII and the push towards nuclear show down, I thought a few on the forum might be interested to have a read and to see that simply through being observant and using common logic we can know what is being planned - I am not blowing my own trumpet here, it is just interesting. 5 Years back seems like a different world eh?
