That is one of the major problems with information coming out about this war, everything is filtered and slanted. It makes no difference if the sites are Russian, Ukrainian, American, or European. Everybody has an agenda. Even videos are edited to push propaganda that is completely false. Also, there is so much propaganda and this thread moves so fast that it is hard to verify any information. The only real way (it seems to me) is to let the situation mature, time has a way of bringing truth to the surface. What is that old Mark Twain saying................"a lie travels halfway around the world before the truth even puts on its shoes." Unfortunately, most people have chosen sides in war (especially this war) so by the time the truth comes out either they dismiss it or they don't care.Posted by Bill Ryan (here)
That's from Ukrainian Pravda (not the Russian site of the same name), and so any news reported of any kind will always be filtered through the Ukrainian lens. (That's a nice way of saying that it'll all be Ukrainian anti-Russian and anti-Belarusian propaganda, some of which may well be invented.) And even when they report something that occurred, the headline will often be editorially skewed.
I read the Pravda article, and it goes on to say the 'offer' was really a joke. Here's an extract:Quote from Takayev: "Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, has recently proposed that Kazakhstan join the Union State. I appreciate his joke. I think there is no need [for Kazakhstan] to do so, as there are other integration associations – first and foremost, the Eurasian Economic Union. This is the website of the President of Kazakhstan, Pravda's stated (unlinked) source for the article:
