    Music is endlessly inspirational.

It might be Ray Charles one day, then Frankie Miller the next. A bit of Edvard Grieg here and some sea shanties there.

The right kind of music is a beautiful thing. If it makes one feel happy and at peace, and provides insight and inspiration, then it is something to be cherished forever. It would be best to avoid anything else that does not accomplish these purposes within oneself, angry and sorrowful music not withstanding. And anything else along those lines.

Yet despite those last two sentences, at times even these can be temporarily freeing and healing, in order to release blocked emotional and mental states of being.

Sorry if that sounds contradictory, just trying to make clearer what I meant and am trying to convey.

Glad the videos provided some additional light and inspiration. I really love these songs.

Fair play to The Jam. They even beat the magnificent David Icke to the punch.

This song was written just before all the lockdowns but the lyrics seem perfect for our current situation, precognition?

    Everything's Right
    Song by Phish

Time to get out, I've paid my dues
I need to shout there's no time to lose
No more to give, the well is dry
The pavements worn, my brain is fried
It's time to get out, I've paid my dues
My shoes have holes, my socks are bare
The mirror's secret is I'm losing my hair
I'm in prison without a crime
    The sentence stretches on undefined
It's time to get out, I've paid my dues
    I've paid my dues
    But everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Just hold tight
I'm going downhill with increasing speed
And compassion gives way, if you listen to greed
Focus on the past and that's what will last
Nothing that is real and nothing you can feel
Focus on tomorrow you'll have to borrow
Images and mind and thoughts you've left behind
Focus on today and you'll find a way
    Happiness is how
    Rooted in the now
    'Cause, everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Just hold tight
Look into the eyes of everyone you meet
Try not to step on your best friend's feet
The line is in the sand, the flag is planted
    The rest of your life
    Don't take it for granted
    'Cause, everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    Everything's right
    So just hold tight
    This world, this world
    This crazy world I know
    It turns, it turns
And the long night's over and the suns coming up
    This world, this world
    This crazy world I know
    It turns, it turns
And the long night's over and the suns coming up
    This world, this world
    This crazy world I know
    It turns, it turns
And the long night's over and the suns coming up
    This world, this world
    This crazy world I know
    It turns, it turns
And the long night's over and the sun's coming up now
    This world, this world
    This crazy world I know
    It turns, it turns
And the long night's over and the suns coming up
    This world, this world
    This crazy world I know
    It turns, it turns
And the long night's over and the suns coming up
    Yeah, oh yeah
And the long night's over and the suns coming up
    Yeah, oh yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah it's gonna be alright
    Everything's right
    Everything's right
    Alright, alright
    Everything's right
    It's gonna be alright
    Everything's right
    Right, right, right
    It's gonna be alright
    Alright
    Alright
    Alright
    It's gonna be alright
    Alright
    Alright
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
    Alright

Music is of critical importance for me, I know this applies for countless others also, but we are focusing on the personal with this thread are we not?

I think it is interesting, and of tremendous value to create your own music if you have the inclination to do this, there is endless music from the commercial factories and
the mainstream 'pop machine'- but there is today an enormous body of work being produced by independent artists; the net-effect of digital technology has produced happy results along with more concerning ones!

Anyway, this piece I present to you here is not 'grandiose' or from a widely adored idol of contemporary mainstream music, it is an acoustic guitar composition named: We Shall Rise
I was inspired to record this piece after arriving at the chord progression, this suggested a melodic improvisation, and it was performed with the spirit of Resistance very much on my mind
Also a sense of optimism and faith in the capacity of humanity to rise above this present obstacle, and discover the true power that is derived from UNITED LOVE, and the ingenious creativity of our species.

This is quite a simple piece, but it has a subtle dimension which asks that you listen, and follow along with its journey, it should be played back at a good volume and using headphones.

I make no exotic claims about this piece, but because it is an original work and from one of your fellow 'Avalonians' I modestly ask you to give it a listen and allow it to work its own magic on you.

We Shall Rise, an acoustic guitar meditation and improvisation by Mike Gorman for your pleasure:

I guess inspirational means different things to different people.

This new take on a Neil Diamond classic certainly inspires me. It's absolutely beautiful and a fabulously creative way to raise global community spirits in tough times.

    Here's another.

I do not have a track listing or video to show for it, only the link below on Amazon. Apologies, but that's the best I can do for now.

    Free Spirit "Sight" Lyrics
    (c) 1999 Aliya

    https://www.amazon.com/free-spirit-aliya/dp/B00000K01Y

"I wake from a deep sleep,
Into the night I make my way,
A deep knowingness to guide me,
    A burning desire moves me,
To break free these shackles of limitations,
So I may embrace the unknown.

    Oh my spirit,
    My beloved Spirit,
    I call to thee,
Fill me with such sweet inspirations,
To dream the grandest of dreams,
Open my mind to know the Truth,
that I have the power to live them,
for I choose to be free,
    Truly Free."

Truly inspiring and freeing, I believe.
"The truth will set us free, whatever that may be."
"Question everything. Make a path where there was not one before."
"We are part of the Universe. It's story, is our story."

Not sure if this belongs here, but whenever i found myself in stress or distress or similar, i listen to stuff like this, and i think sometimes i felt asleep and a very deep sleep with amazing dreams and woke up with a new view of the world. Othertimes i just find serenity and focus in amazing ways, in any case, i find a lot of things here that i have never been able to find in any other music so far

I think one important aspect of Koto is that the silences between the notes, kind of re align the soul in some ways, so that it's more at peace and in a correct frequency of existence, it brings a lot of power with that also
