"T" government is trying to close down Go Fund Me account and as of end of today $1,850,000.00 for truckers and labellng the convoy as a terrorist org and apparently the media is describing the truck jamming the roads is due to "weather conditions"

$3.2 million dollars (that's a lot for a campaign that's only been up for a week or so) in support of the truckers convoy has now been raised. It appears the government is still trying to declare them as a "terrorist organization" so they can seize the funds that have been raised.

Imagine being forced out of your career by the government, with no ability to collect employment insurance, then when you try to peacefully protest, getting labeled by the government as a "terrorist" and having your funds for the peaceful protest seized.

I'm seeing reports of an estimated 50,000+ trucks, and half a million people, will be converging on the Canadian Parliament buildings this weekend ... not sure how accurate that is, but it would be an awesome showing. We'll find out in 5 days.

American truckers are also joining in the convoy. Lots of reports that "T" has gone - some say Texas, some say Switzerland (supposedly attending a Davos meeting) but not sure if these are rumours or confirmed yet. But many sound convinced that he has already departed.

Peter Mansbridge and Tara Henley had nothing nice to say about CBC after quitting there. Mansbridge called it nothing more than a mouthpiece for the government, and I think Tara referred to it as a "woke nightmare".

Just checked it again now, $4 million. It seems like while many Canadians just don't want to stand up for their rights and protest, they're willing to pay for other Canadians to do it for them. It went up $800,000 in less than 12 hours ...

to me there is a difference between the moral fight in general against oppressive mandates versus the fight when they apply to you personally.

You can be sure that most of the doctors, nurses, other healthcare workers, pilots, business owners/workers, etc. who stage these big protests are motivated primarily because it affects them personally rather than any altrusitic reasons.

Simply look at the time when they organize their protests.
In this case the truckers are protesting just as a vaccine mandate took hold for them.

Why didn't they organize a protest two, four, six or eight months ago?

Why didn't they protest 10 years ago?

Obviously things have been getting worse and worse as time goes on, and as much patience as Canadians have, obviously there's a limit.

The fact that over $4 million has been donated to the truckers cause tells me that while most Canadians aren't getting out and protesting, they are at least willing to finance the ones who will.

Rather than scold them "Why didn't you do this sooner!!", I am just welcoming the effort as its happening in the moment.

According to Jordan Peterson (who is actually originally from Alberta), the convoy was 70 kms long as it left BC .... and there's many more truckers waiting to join along the way - its all being professionally scheduled and planned, with police escorts through major cities, etc. The fundraiser that has secured 4 million dollars in donations is hiring a professional finance board to handle and distribute the funds appropriately.

I think they were busy driving goods to their locations after waiting in lines at the docks.

Many of the nurses and small business owners left their jobs months ago. In between some protesting, they have been looking for a solution to their immediate problems at hand - paying their bills and feeding their families.

Families and friendships have been broken and people have been lost - physically and mentally.

Sometimes it takes a big movement to shake things up enough to help people lift their heads and hearts.

70 km long, wow. A tractor-trailer unit is about 80 feet long (25m). So if each truck takes up 100m of highway, including spacing, that suggests there are about 700 trucks, maybe soon to rise to 1000 or more.
