Would it be possible to have a 24 hours summary overview instead of separate EMSC Forum posts?

    thnx
No need to follow anyone, only consider broadening (y)our horizon of possibilities ...

Good question, but if so, we don't know how to do that right now. (Of course, it may be possible!)

The way the current alert system works is that EMSC sends us a single post update each time there's an EQ of magnitude 6 or above. It's a fully automated thing.

The kind of page you might be thinking of is on their site, but accessible manually. It's pretty useful for looking at trends, hotspots, swarms, etc. (And there are other ways to refine the criteria, such as by region, and so on.)

China earthquake: Powerful 7.4 magnitude quake rocks central China - latest updates

CHINA has been rocked by a huge 7.4 magnitude earthquake on the same day a person was killed in an earlier deadly quake.

The quake struck Qinghai, China, at 2.04am on Saturday (6.04pm GMT), the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said. The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles). It is not yet known if there are any injuries.

The latest quake came after two people were killed when a 6.4 magnitude struck in Yunnan earlier today, according to Chinese state media.

The quake hit at a depth of 12 kilometres (7.46 miles) and was followed by aftershocks, EMSC said.

The US Geological Survey said the quake took place near popular tourist area Dali.

The epicentre hit at 9.48pm at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometres.

Dali announced a level-two emergency response and a rescue operation was quickly started.

The quake is said to have occurred in the mountainous province and a truck driver was killed after being crushed by a falling rock.

    Another body was also recovered.

Officials said that at least nine other people had also been buried under rubble.

The provincial Government also said some buildings had collapsed and been damaged.
It added that the "disaster situation was undergoing further verification."

Some roads were damaged due to landslides, but electricity, telephones and internet were still working.

Local media published videos of ceiling lamps swaying, as well as vases being pictured falling off shelves,

People were seen running outdoors from shops and their homes after the quake struck.

The China Earthquake Networks Centre (CENC) also warned people in the area to "stay away from buildings".

More than 100,000 people live in the area, with most of them in rural communities.

The Yunnan region is often struck by earthquakes.

This is because the region is close to the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.

These plates form the huge Himalayan mountain range.

Previous earthquakes have caused devastation for residents over the years.

Back in October 2014, hundreds of people were injured and more than 100,000 left without homes after a 6.0-magnitude tremor hit Yunnan.

And 87,000 people were killed or reported missing after a strong 7.9-magnitude quake hit in the southwest Sichuan province in 2008.

A few years before in 2003, a 6.8-magnitude quake also left 268 people dead in Xinjiang.
