Well, I'm trying to make a payment to an Australian company via Paypal and it won't go through - even after calling Paypal tech support and it being confirmed all is well at their end ... mmm .... everyone seems to be saying that the issue is resolved but I'm not so sure

This could be the first pretext to normalise cyberatacks on population, and the new excuse to reduce life quality and augment surveillance.

Imagine Avalon forum gets wiped out. They could just blame some "terrorist hackers". Because thats whats normal now.

We could (will) be getting even more net surveillance too, because of "hackers". This is nothing but the normalisation path for measures like biometric scans and so on.

And by targeting news, food and health infrastructure they can legitimate everything.

Dozens of sites, including Amazon, Reddit, the New York Times, Bloomberg News, and the Guardian could not be reached.

The UK government's main website was unavailable while the White House site had an error message for a period 8 Jun 2021

Government, news and social media websites across the globe have begun come back online after being hit by a widespread outage linked to US-based cloud company Fastly.
High traffic sites including Reddit, Amazon, CNN, Paypal, Spotify, Al Jazeera Media Network, and The New York Times were all listed as experiencing problems by tracking website Downdetector.com on Tuesday, but came back up after outages that ranged from a few minutes to around an hour.

All the websites I accessed and found issues, I can confirm their web server were up and running, the issue was only related to the assets used by that website, as Bill opened the thread saying it is a CDN
issue, it is exactly what it is, at least here for me. Yesterday earlier I accessed amazon twice, but it return plain html to my browser, it was not loading the assets (css, js, images, videos, etc), thepiratebay was not displaying its beautiful logo (behind cloudflare), yts was returning 503 Service Unavailable (they use cloudflare if I am not wrong), Banggood, Lazada, Shopee was not displaying photos of their products, but the rest of the website was rendering well..

I would not rely on systems like downdetector or downforeveryoneorjustme.com they are unreliable, for example most websites that has some sort of DDOS protection (and the large ones all have it) they will block these websites straight away, then it will always show it was DOWN, when in reality it was UP, most large websites using cloudflare has it.

You can check for yourself https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/...to=https&www=1
    returns

here is the website and it is working https://www.bitkub.com/

My thought is that this may be a way of forced 5G. The 5G is the electromagnetic frequency of our oxygen. The way I

For what it's worth, from The Guardian yesterday (9 June)

    https://theguardian.com/technology/2...ed-mass-outage

Fastly says single customer triggered bug behind mass internet outage

An internet blackout that knocked out some of the world’s biggest websites on Tuesday was ultimately caused by a single customer updating their settings, the infrastructure provider Fastly has revealed.

A bug in Fastly’s code introduced in mid-May had lain dormant until Tuesday morning, according to Nick Rockwell, the company’s head of engineering and infrastructure. When the unnamed customer updated their settings, it triggered the flaw, which ultimately took down 85% of the company’s network.

“On May 12, we began a software deployment that introduced a bug that could be triggered by a specific customer configuration under specific circumstances,” Rockwell said. “Early June 8, a customer pushed a valid configuration change that included the specific circumstances that triggered the bug, which caused 85% of our network to return errors.

“We detected the disruption within one minute, then identified and isolated the cause, and disabled the configuration. Within 49 minutes, 95% of our network was operating as normal.”

Rockwell added: “Even though there were specific conditions that triggered this outage, we should have anticipated it. We provide mission-critical services, and we treat any action that can cause service issues with the utmost sensitivity and priority. We apologize to our customers and those who rely on them for the outage and sincerely thank the community for its support.”

The content delivery network (CDN) operated by Fastly is one of the largest on the internet, along with similar networks operated by Akamai, Cloudflare and Amazon’s CloudFront. All operate on the same principle: that the internet is faster and more stable if users can connect to servers physically close to them, optimised for handling lots of traffic.

In typical times, doing so not only cuts loading times but also allows the CDN operators, with expertise in running internet infrastructure, to take on the burden of handling security threats, unexpected traffic spikes, and high bandwidth bills. But the outage highlighted the risks associated with a concentration of critical internet infrastructure in the hands of just a few companies.

Counterintuitively, the outage and recovery led to a rise in Fastly’s stock price, which was up 12% over the course of Tuesday. The increase may have been because the company had demonstrated an effective incident response plan, or simply because the outage had served to make investors more aware of the scale of the Fastly’s business and the size of its customer base.

The effects will not have been quite so rosy for Fastly’s customers. At Amazon alone, for instance, the outage could have lost the company $32m in sales, according to a calculation by the SEO agency Reboot.

“Although it seems they weren’t down for long, the impact it would have had will be huge, especially on e-commerce sites,” said Naomi Aharony, the agency’s managing director. “With our research estimating Amazon could have potentially lost $6,803 every second it was down, it’s clear an investigation will want to be made to find out what happened.”

Few Fastly customers were able to switch over to a backup system in time to recover from the outage, in part because doing so is typically considered more high-risk than simply waiting for the provider to fix problems. For instance, according to public documents, gov.uk has a backup contract with Amazon to provide CDN services, but requires a manual intervention to make the change.

I think that's it Karen ... It's about getting the public accustomed to the idea these things can happen ...So when the BIG "cyber attack" comes people don't get angry and ask "how could this happen?"

For a financial reset all bank records have to evaporate , they will say they have no paper record of what people had in their accounts , so we have to start over again . A communist utopia where everyone starts from scratch , no property no wealth , just credits from the government when you work ... They have said this is the plan , you won't even own a washing machine or a lawn mower , the state will own it all

“You’ll own nothing, and you’ll be happy”
While cars can be shared among multiple users on peer-to-peer platforms ..., power tools can be made available by the hour from local libraries, and clothing can be rented as needed .... https://justinhonse.medium.com/does-...g-79ec55b98809

But this is just one plan , they may not try to implement it ...

In another plan they could use a "cyber attack" to take out power . No fuel for delivery trucks ( gas stations need electricity to pump petrol) , no food deliveries , supermarkets looted no food or power for anyone .

Oh, My! Somebody found the Right Switch to OFF with. Now a few more plugs to Pull and we will all be back to square one in the dark. What a brilliant TOP DOWN PLAN for the world. All it takes is to pull ONE PLUG and we are all wiped out, including the Nuclear Button. The Patagonian Nazis and their Banker Friends can then celebrate.

i don't mind , in fact I will be happy if all of the internet is down and destroyed. It is through the establishment of the internet that the devil got his wings. Look at these things made possible only with the internet:
    1. Total surveillance.
    2, Would be total censorship.
    3. Great deception through information control - Almost everything we believe in are false. People ignore the reality they see in their immediate environment and opt to believe in what they see on the internet instead.
    4. Indulging in trivialities like taking pictures of the meal and getting likes.
    5. Enabling technocracy and dividing humans into two classes of masters and slaves, or wolves and sheep.

It is said that since covid we never return to the old way of life. Not so, I think we can return if the internet is destroyed. Perhaps the sole purpose of setting up the internet is for this New World?

Of course I will miss Avalon and much good information, but they cannot compensate for the pain of the realization of this control and its destruction of humanity and our loss of freedom.
While all of these items are indeed manifestations of the Inter-Networked information system, and Web culture, consider what else has been enabled from the invention of the World Wide Web which exists ON the internet:
    1. The global availability of digitised knowledge - enabling a cheap, 24/7 reference library for all
    2. The ability for you and I to publish whatever we consider valauble, and for millions of people to have access to this - it has kicked the publishing exclusives up the arse!
    3. A massive amplification of the only truly 'Human' skill we have: Communication
    4. Education on a scale never-previously imaginable, let alone possible.
    5. The mass political awakening of billions of people and enabling a push back on a scale never before possible-Trump arose from the internet, and he will return also, populism as a movement is only possible because we can discuss everything among ourselves, even with big tech censorship-there are millions of private blogs which get read, all of this compounds into being a revolution of sorts.

Yes, I know there is a downside to the internet, but sometimes I see the whining as being churlish and ignorant, sorry.
