Default All about SARS-CoV-2 asymptomatic transmission

What is the truth about asymptomatic transmission of SARS-CoV-2? The asymptomatic aspect combined with the much-misrepresented mortality risk have underpinned the social restrictions and vaccination push.

I found this from the BMJ:
    Asymptomatic transmission of covid-19
    BMJ 2020; 371 doi: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.m4851 (Published 21 December 2020)

    https://www.bmj.com/content/371/bmj.m4851

    ...
Earlier estimates that 80% of infections are asymptomatic were too high and have since been revised down to between 17% and 20% of people with infections.12 Studies estimating this proportion are limited by heterogeneity in case definitions, incomplete symptom assessment, and inadequate retrospective and prospective follow-up of symptoms, however.3 Around 49% of people initially defined as asymptomatic go on to develop symptoms.45

It’s also unclear to what extent people with no symptoms transmit SARS-CoV-2. The only test for live virus is viral culture. PCR and lateral flow tests do not distinguish live virus. No test of infection or infectiousness is currently available for routine use.678 As things stand, a person who tests positive with any kind of test may or may not have an active infection with live virus, and may or may not be infectious.9

    ...

And there are LOTS of interesting responses. Here's one:
    Source: https://www.bmj.com/content/371/bmj.m4851/rr-4
    ...

Data from the COVID Symptom Study shows a relatively low number of truly asymptomatic cases.(6) Studies that have reported high numbers of asymptomatic cases focus on persistent cough, high temperature, and loss of smell, missing many other symptoms. There is a data gap as much of our existing data on covid-19 comes from hospital settings,(7) not the cases I see in the community. One third of the population with covid-19 who are said to be asymptomatic may well have other symptoms, just not a cough or high temperature – this is not the same as being asymptomatic. Furthermore, Professor Pollock’s Editorial highlights that there is no robust evidence that the asymptomatic drive COVID transmission.(8) Thomas Drosten, Germany’s leading virologist, has written that as the new variant (B.1.1.7) is missing a gene that worsens the severity of the disease, therefore it could be more harmless, spreading faster, by causing milder disease, resulting in people with mild symptoms not self-isolating, instead increasingly infecting others.(9) This may partially account for the new variant being 70% more transmissible.(10, 11)

    ...
I'm very interested to hear what you think or know about asymptomatic transmission of SARS-CoV-2. Thank you!

I'll share my uninformed opinions so far!
    • The BMJ article shows asymptomatic transmission was hugely exaggerated; 80% of asymptomatic infections revised down to 20%
    • The response I quoted said: they thought the official list of symptoms were not complete, because most of the data came from hospital settings with more severe cases. The response author thought there may well be other symptoms, just not a cough or high temperature

Since there is evidence of wild exaggeration (80% -> 20% !!!) and it's such a powerful tool of fear, I suspect shenanigans and wouldn't be surprised if it was a total myth; it's so convenient for lockdown/fear/alienation.

It is curious that this feature of SARS-Cov2 is the only epidemic (to coin their phrase) where asymptomatic infection 'danger' has been emphasised, in fact they stressed this right out of the starting blocks, didn't they?
As if, they were anticipating the push-back on quarantining the Well population, and heading off any critique of the draconian measures: just because you are well, and those around you are well, you still represent a threat to others, particularly the 'vulnerable', old and infirm. We were characterised as being 'Granny Killers' if we did not comply with lock downs. How very convenient for their fear & alarm narrative!
We know if people represent a threat to our well-being, they are visibly suffering symptoms, and therefore 'shedding viruses' - if someone is well the quantity and virulence of any infection is going to be much less (or completely null)-doesn't this make basic, medical sense to you?
This Asymptomatic infection vector was vastly overstated for a specific reason, this directly supports the excessive measures, it underpins the entire reason for a Lock Down approach!
We are still being told about this, we are still swallowing their rubbish like babes in the wood.

Asymptomatic transmission is impossible as explained by Mike Yeadon

Quote Dr Mike Yeadon, formerly of Pfizer. Lots of facts from the inappropriate PCR test and inaccurate death attributions, to asymptomatic spreading, inappropriate masks and lockdowns,

Curiously, Anthony Fauci stated the true facts about mask-wearing and asymptomatic transmission early on.

The can of worms must be opened - and dealt with.

Mike Yeadon once again offering an indisputably rational and informed critique! I like this man enormously.

So I gotta wonder, when the next virus is let loose will the 'jabbed' gain an advantage or will the 'unjabbed'?
The question is related to the question, why are they hell bent on all of us getting the jab?
The kernel of the problem always comes back to who is 'they'?

And the only thing we know for certain is that they believe there are way too many of us.

Dr. John Campbell talks to Dr. Clare Craig about asymptomatic lies.

Notes taken from the first three minutes of the interview:
    • Early on the definitions of 'asymptomatic' were muddled across borders and fuzzy definitions prevailed
      .
    • In 1910 prominent public health official Charles Chapin wrote a book on public health which sold broad brush conclusions that everyone believed
      .
    • Charles Chapin wanted to push his opinion about how dangerous close contact transmission was, influenced by his own abnormally strong bias against saliva and his irrational OCD. But influenza clearly doesn't spread by close contact so Dr. Craig says that Charles Chapin had to defend his strong opinion that close contact transmission was still a dangerous threat. Dr. Craig says he constructed the myth of asymptomatic transmission for that purpose. But it was just another one of his broad brush opinions that was passed as fact
      .
