Happy Fourth of July everyone! It is a day to celebrate our independence, our freedom from tyranny, our sovereignty.
To me, the most subversive song against this tyranny, are the simple words of Woody Guthrie "This land was made for you and me."
It wasn't made for factory farms or land robber barons like Bill Gates, this land was made for you and me!
It wasn't made to that Monsanto/Beyer could cover it with inorganic chemicals and GMOs, this land was made for you and me!
It wasn't made so that Nestle's or the Bush family or other cartels could buy up all the rights to the water. The rivers and lakes and oceans were made for you and me and all the creatures that swim in the fresh clear waters!
It wasn't made for nuclear bomb and weapons testing, or for napalming, or destructive military maneuvers, this land for made for you and me and for all the animals that dwell here too!
And every land and every nation was made for the people who dwell upon it, so lets stop fighting these pretend wars to "make the world free" and acknowledge what they are really about: colonizing, dominating and vampirizing the peoples, the resources, the land on behalf of the select few. This peaceable land was made for you and me!
This land was not made for the psychopathic politicians, or war mongering generals, or the corporations hell bent on greed, or the attendees of the Bilderberg Group hell bent on control. It was made for you and may.
Happy Fourth of July everyone on Earth, and not just the people of United State of American. Celebrate your sovereignty this day and every day. This planet is here for you and your well being and happiness. From the Himalayas to the Amazon rain forest, this planet was made for you and me!
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California to the New York Island
From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and me.
As I was walking that ribbon of highway
I saw above me that endless skyway
I saw below me that golden valley
This land was made for you and me.
I roamed and I rambled and I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
While all around me a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me.
When the sun came shining, and I was strolling
And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling
A voice was chanting, As the fog was lifting,
This land was made for you and me.
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California to the New York Island
From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters
This land was made for you and me.
