Largest Declassified Government UFO Files Collection Worldwide!

This is quite possibly the largest collection of publicly accessible UFO documents in the world, drawing from as many sources and countries as possible. See below for a list of declassified UFO materials that haven't been tracked down yet. If you have copies of or know of any other files that should be included, please contact me.

This page includes the 10,000 Project Blue Book reports which were censored by a copyright claim from Ancestry.com subsidiary Fold3 after they were posted on The Black Vault (which I highly recommend visiting for its wealth of material). As Mr. Greenewald explained, their claim is ludicrous. "Ancestry.com, and their subsidiary Fold3, has laid down a claim to copyright on the Project Blue Book material – which has long been labeled as “public domain” by the National Archives & Records Administration (NARA). Ancestry.com is claiming ownership to the digital version of this material – despite me having records that Fold3 doesn’t even have in their archive and I received under the FOIA starting back in 1996. They simply claimed it was 100% theirs and I was forced to remove it." (See below for the full statement).

Unfortunately, while Mr. Greenewald was completely in the right to post the public domain documents, the cost of litigating a lawsuit would have been enormous and for the sake of his family, he was forced to comply with the takedown request. I was unable to retrieve a copy of the cache from him, but after some digging I managed to find a copy. It and the other files have been uploaded to Archive.org and properly marked as being in the public domain. While the Project Blue Book reports have been uploaded individually, they have also been uploaded as a single dataset for easy retrieval and archiving. It's unlikely that Fold3 would try to threaten me with a lawsuit (though I invite them to try and be laughed out of court), or that the Internet Archive would cave and remove the public domain material, but in the event that this happens they will have to file takedown requests for thousands of items and deal with the certainty that people have retrieved and duplicated the complete set.

2007 - The President of Ecuador acknowledges 44 reports, 22 Air Force 11 Army and 11 Navy, and 242 videos of UFOs obtained in the country.

Norway

1987 - The Norwegian Government sends 1400 pages of documents on so-called ghost rockets to the National Archives of the country.

Portugal

1990 - 3 UFO reports totaling 190 pages from Air Force Portugal are made available for CNIFO group re: cases in September 4, 1957, June 17, 1977 and November 2, 1982.

Sweden

1968 - Some files to the Swedish Air Force were made available to the researcher K. Like Rehn.
1975 - New documents are made available to the Swedish one UFO group (AFU).
May 10, 2009 - The Government of Sweden declassified reports of 18,000 cases registered in the country.

Switzerland

1994 - 18 reports of the Air Force, totaling 28 pages, are made available.

Uruguay

1979 - A joint committee between civil and military research at official level UFO cases was formed, creating over 1,000 reports, called Comisión Receptadora and researcher of UFO Denuncias (Cridovni). Acknowledged in 1982.
2009 - The Air Force reports 40 unexplained events.

The Black Vault's Response to Fold3's Censorship:

January 29th, 2015 – It is with great frustration to announce, that Ancestry.com, and their subsidiary Fold3, has laid down a claim to copyright on the Project Blue Book material – which has long been labeled as “public domain” by the National Archives & Records Administration (NARA). Ancestry.com is claiming ownership to the digital version of this material – despite me having records that Fold3 doesn’t even have in their archive and I received under the FOIA starting back in 1996. They simply claimed it was 100% theirs and I was forced to remove it.

Because of my attempt with properly crediting Fold3 with a DIRECT LINK to their site as partial credit for some of the material, they used that show of proper credit by me to issue a copyright claim under the Digital Copyright Millennium Act (DCMA). Anyone who knows anything about the law can attest; you are “guilty until proven innocent” so this was the beginning of the end. I never hid from Fold3 as a source, and even brought them up in some media interviews I did take part in, which were all cut out. No one cared about that part of the story – this new archive was what they wanted to report on because it was simple, straight forward, easy and free. And people loved it.
Based on an evidence-less claim I was forced to remove the entire site. That’s right, there was ZERO evidence submitted to my web hosting provider of ownership or copyright or license, but rather, they simply placed the accusation which is all it takes. In good faith, I took the site down in hopes a compromise could be reached. They already had credit given on the front page of the site for some of the material, and that link alone resulted in a 12%+ increase in their entire statistics since they posted records in 2007, and my link multiplied their weekly hits by 10x, yes ten times, in only 5 days (statistics are posted on their page, so I am not guessing on those statistics but rather took notes).

I stated there was much more information here than is cited to Fold3, but they didn’t care. I offered giving them a full 100% “share of voice” banner ad to advertise Fold3 (in addition to the link already driving them traffic), or to sell ads with no profit share to me, and they didn’t care. I asked if they would work with me on any capacity, because CLEARLY interest was being generated by my audience (and obviously not by theirs) but they didn’t care.

In the end – they offered I become a member of their affiliate program – and offer a link to them in exchange for a portion of sales generated. ie: You have to sign up with them, pay a membership, and they give me a percentage. I quickly declined.
This is public record material, and it should remain so. To lay ‘exclusive’ claim to it in the digital world, when both sites (my site and theirs) offer it for free – is ludicrous and a waste of time and money for everyone.

But at the end of the day, I am proud to have brought attention to information that although has been available for quite some time – the public at large never knew it existed. I will let Google Trends prove my point. Here is the popularity of Project Blue Book, since 2005, and a graph relating to people searching for information on it.
See that spike? Yes, The Black Vault did that… and I am proud to be the one who caused such an uproar of interest by the public and the media (despite some erroneous facts in the reporting).

Did some media outlets misreport? Yes, and if this page was still up, there was a message on the front page setting the record straight.
But, call it corporate greed, a legal loophole, or a grey area in the copyright law, all of that is gone in the name of getting your personal information, and your credit card, by a corporation that has a wallet much thicker than mine. I’ll let you decide what the right label is to put on this entire mess.

According to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC):

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) was created as an independent agency by Congress in 1974 to ensure the safe use of radioactive materials for beneficial civilian purposes while protecting people and the environment. The NRC regulates commercial nuclear power plants and other uses of nuclear materials, such as in nuclear medicine, through licensing, inspection and enforcement of its requirements.

Over the years, many UFO reports have surfaced regarding unidentified craft being seen over sensitive nuclear installations. It only makes sense, that the NRC would be a prime target under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for documents relating to the phenomena.

The documents were received relatively quickly. They were requested by The Black Vault on February 27, 2017, and were released to me on March 23, 2017.
Most surprising, there is new information never-before-seen within these records. It is revealed that a former security guard of the Cooper Nuclear Station witnessed a UFO sometime between the years 1986 and 1989. The report described the UFO encounter as the following:

While posted at the intake structure one night, he observed an “unidentified flying object” fly down the Missouri River about 150 feet in the air and hover in front of the intake. He observed it for a few moments and then contacted a fellow security officer who also observed it (he could not recall the individual’s name exactly but his first name was [REDACTED] and his last name was either [REDACTED ]. After they together observed the UFO, it turned and went back up the river and did not come back that shift. He and the other officer shared their observation with their peers who did not believe them.

The next evening he again was posted at the intake and observed the UFO return again. This time he didn’t call anyone until the UFO had traversed into the protected area and hovered above the protected area just north of the Reactor Building. He said it was roughly triangular in shape with a circle of rotating lights on the bottom. He could not hear any propulsion noise from the UFO. He believes that it was roughly 1/3 the size of the Reactor Building. Once the UFO hovered in the protected area. He called the security break room and most of the officers on shift observed the UFO.

Interestingly, after the report was taken by the NRC, the documents were compiled and sent to Cooper Nuclear Station in 2010. Although no formal response was requested, Cooper Nuclear Station was told only to tell employees there that were on a “need to know” basis.

The records also include reports submitted by the public to the NRC about UFO activity, and even alien technology. The NRC gave the standard response to all of the letters sent in, that the NRC mission did not include the topics they were writing about.

The released documents from 2017 can be seen below, in their entirety. They are unedited and appear exactly how they were received by The Black Vault from the NRC.

In 2021, another set of documents was released from a newer case that was filed by The Black Vault.

These records revealed a 2015 “drone” sighting at Pilgrim Nuclear Station. Although described as a “drone”, local police were called and during their investigation, determine that the object was “thousands” of feet in the air. Despite drones only being allowed to fly at 400 feet, with most commercially available drones not capable of higher flight, the NRC decided to not file a Security Information Database (SID) report. Those files are also below.

Been over 22 times on Dutch National TV mostly discussing UFO Sightings ... even 2 times Live on Larry King Show CNN 1992 and 1993 (phoning in) ... Am Co-Founder of "Exposure Magazine" & "Frontier Magazine" discussing UFOs on a regular basis ... Had (among others) 3 successful CE5 UFO encounters with other witnesses (and 2 without) ... all 5 were positive experiences.

I also debated "Dutch UFO skeptics" on Dutch National Radio which was not hard to do, because they are so so predictable.
