    Hi everyone, and blessings ot all of you.
    I write to ask for your help, because I am maditating daily since several months, but I dont get anything. My mind hardly ever gets totally free of absurd thouths...

    I hear so many people who tell that they do get "connect" with the "Source" or the "Energy" and so they "see the light" and understand everything... bit I just cant get it.

    So, if some of you have already connected to the Source, I will be very very very grateful if you could give me some advice,

    You could have blocks in your aetheric body, in specific points known as chakra points. There are many techniques to aid that issue, but there are psychological aspects that if you understand them, you can clear your chakra points.

    This is a kids cartoon, but it contains very useful information about how to psychologically clear your chakras. I have personally found this highly effective for me.

    The "source" is the source of your every breath. If you are not connected to your source for 5 minutes you are already dead. In fact your "source" is the source of every energy that makes you. It means if you are not connected to it for an instance you ceased to exist.

    The easiest meditation I know (when one can not focus anymore) is the finger meditation from Jin Shin Jyutsu (see 2 minute video on youtube or links & info below the video)



    It works particularly great to calm & balance the mind and body and get to the meditative state even in busy stressfull/noisy situations.

    Every finger is linked to specific emotions energy & organs and using this technique one balances out the energy of the mind and body.

    Technique:

    Basically you only need your hands. Lay them comfortable and begin by

    - holding the thumb of one hand with the other hand till you feel a sense of peace

    - then hold the index finger till feeling some more peace see:

    - then hold the little finger with the other hand as above

    Then repeat above steps for the other hand.

    It's important that the first time you do this on both hands to create balance. After that you can do it whenever you want o whatever finger/feeling needs it. Also it's important that your grip on the finger you're holding is not too tight neither too loose for the energy to be able to flow and find balance.

    (P.S. There are many more types of meditions which also generate very nice effects each by using different techniques, so not discrediting any other technique. But when being in a completely stressy; noisy situation when one can really not find any calm this one is the simplest I find.)

    Try to feel it, have your own experience instead of rely on someone's else experience, it is not supposed to have a light in there all the time, I go to strange places when meditating not always with bright light, sometimes I even see things quite vivid, even if I open my eyes the objects are right there, once the concentration and focus pipe is broken, it all vanish, it usually happen to me when laying down, I do every every night before sleep.

    To start with try to focus your attentions on your breath as before mentioned (probably the easiest way), if you think it is too hard and some people does, try to focus in some image (can be a buddha image, can be a flower, waves in the ocean, waterfall,..), or some sound (I meditated inside a train once, my focus of attention was the wheels crashing the tracks, it was a very noise 3rd class trip, and I did it for hours, I would recommend some clean nice sound like water, will make things easier).. use your senses, then remove once you master control on each of the senses.

    and most important, do not get attached to the feelings (bad or good), many people get very attached to this light thing that they really believe reached some sort of illumination, and it is wrong to think that way, because once one believe to be illuminated, the search is over! it will just feed the ego.

    meditate is like "tame" a wild horse.

    Dear @Estherilla welcome to Project Avalon Forum, question like yours is why we exist here

    In my view 99 out of 100 times it is all about having trust in yourself or not ... this trust can not be solved having endless mind-chatter ... or endless "inner debates" ... but it has much more to do with breaking the mass conditioning aka programming since you were born ... No one excluded! ... Most people who are empaths and/or Highly Sensitive Persons (HSP) tend to be "in service to others" so much so they do not know who they really are anymore ... As "pleasing others" can easily become a very very deep habit but when that get betrayed so many times ... there will be a point that you lose trust in yourself as narcissistic people love to use gaslighting where you are blamed for their deceptions posed on you.

    When so many let you down, especially when they use the "guilt" card, you may come to a point you have to chose between:
    • 01. assuming you "failed" ... or
    • 02. you go chose to take a big step back and letting go of all who is using you or is framing you or is not really helping you ... or
    • 03. focus only on people who are at your level ... or
    • 04. put only energy in to things that liberates you ... to be able to do that ... you first have to see exactly what is holding you back ...or
    • 05. use your unlimited creative potential in service of (practical) optimism, to go beyond the mass conditioning and not trying to use your unlimited creative potential in service of pessimism & defeatism which happens more often than you think ...
    People need to give more space for themselves to vent their true emotions & anger and if you choose not to ... it always finds a way to sabotage & crush your optimism (if you have any left) ... This is KEY to understand you & anyone else investing so much time in "brilliant" pessimism and become really good at it ... or you chose to become good in brilliant optimism ... both can have flaws & contractions, sure, but always know why you do it ... 99 out of 100 times it about suppressing true emotions & justified anger.

    So many assume they are "not worthy enough" to share their true emotions & frustrations and when you have some one close to you that really understand where it is coming from and FORGIVES you for being chaotic/weird/sometimes self-destructive etc. because it is a phase you have to go through ... In that phase you may find yourself "at war" with yourself ...

    This battle has to do with how much space/permission/allowance you give to yourself to live completely in self-honesty ... And when you finally succeed in doing that you slowly attract new people in to your live doing exactly the same >>> this mirror of new people helping you spiritually grow 100 times faster ... If not, in my view, you are running in circles.

    Believe it or not: "constructive (justified) anger" does exist ... so many assume it is a "bad thing to do" ... it is about how much do you love yourself to allow yourself to break patterns of behavior connected to toxic dependence.

    I can say so much more but will come back at you if ask me questions** ... otherwise I may overdo it

    ** questions like: "what has above insights to do with connecting to source?" >>> 'long story short' answer: everything!

    you are already connected to source. it´s your belief that you can´t or that you need to do something in order to cennect that is doing the resistance. Everytime you feel happy, clear minded, calm, healthy... you are connected to source or aligned with it. SOurce is always sending messages in subtle ways. it´s that resistance belief what keeps you with no ears to hear or eyes to see. SOurce is always with you and interested in whatever you put your focus upon. Meditation is not a dogma.... it is simply to stop thought. Do something... hold your breath .......................... see? stop thought. you can do this while running, driving, having a shower or shopping in a mal.... or walking beard foot in nature. Look for the way that fits you better. It is all a matter or rise your vibration/frequency. I am a healer specialized in distance healing. No one can vibrate for you, a good healer knows how to influence your vibraion improving your frequency.... that´s experience and it´s what teaches, words don´t teach.     Hi Estherilla, welcome!

    Thank you for such a brave first post because this information is a question I think a lot of people would like to ask for themselves, but have not. I have had trouble with meditating as well. The info in this thread will be very helpful.

    One thing I would add here - practice listening to yourself as you go through your day. Our mind does have a lot of chatter and noise. If you practice to listen to yourself and find those thoughts which are your own and not just noise, it might become easier to shut out other "stuff" when you are trying to meditate.

    Dear Estherilla,

    The important thing to realise is that your mind has been in control all this time. It takes time to let the mind go. I invite you to read / listen to the audiobook of “The Power of Now” by Elkhart Tolle. It may be of some use to you.

    Do understand that you need to release all ‘striving’ for enlightenment. It won’t work that way. ‘Striving’ is a mental construct, borne from the incessant mental need to ‘get’ something you think you want.

    Also, if you are serious about meditation, may I suggest that you search for a Vipassana meditation centre near you. Commit to a 10-day course. I guarantee it will change your outlook.

    If it helps, I’ve sat through many Vipassana courses, and I meditate daily. Sometimes I fall into a state of onneness; many times I do not. Consistently is key.

    It’s so wonderful you have had the courage to reach out. That’s a big first step.

    I need to be in a flow and then " I " disappear. 2 hours go by and Im like wow where was I

    when I play golf I remind myself to "try without trying" Think about that one.

    You’re describing what it’s like to be ‘in the moment’. There are no rules to this. Brilliant analogy. If your mind goes ‘weak’, you’re getting closer to the ‘now’.

    I agree this is a brave question, especially for one of your first posts. Welcome

    I think meditating is different for everyone. I have read that quieting your mind and emptying your mind of all thoughts is the best way to meditate. Others say that they always use the same technique, focus on breathing, a mirror, a candle or a peaceful scene. That may be great for some people or even most people but it never worked for me. I could never find any inner peace by slowing down or trying to quiet my mind so I eventually gave up trying to meditate.

    Years later I found myself thinking very deeply about life while on long walks or jogging long distances. I have done some of my best meditating while riding on a lawnmower with sound protection earphones on. My point is that normal convention may not work for you so figure out what does work.

    After all............what is meditation, it is pondering questions that you really want to be answered. It could be something deep as reincarnation or something as personal as to why did my child get cancer or as broad as why do we have wars or what will cause humanity to move forward in a positive way. Ponder the thoughts that YOU think are important.

    Also a word to the wise, you will get answers but most likely not overnight. It may even take years. Understand that process of discovery is as important as the answers you get.

    Welcome!

    Some people accomplish this by the focus on emptiness, other people need fullness to focus on. I am the latter kind. For the ‘fullness’-people, the attempt or intention to empty your mind will only result in stress, tension, irritation and even when you succeed, the end result will be more like apathy than real meditation, it can sometimes even feel like a depressive state.

    So what a fullness-person needs is a story, an adventure to embark on, a purpose of the meditation.

    Here is one powerful example: close your eyes and set your intention on feeling the presence in you. For example, you can ask yourself the question: who is this who is present in my body, who’s thinking the thoughts that come up? Look for her (or him), that is your soul/spirit. It js the essence of you. When you feel your own energy come to life, or you sense your clear identity, then say: “hi, there you are!”. Give your soul/spirit some love. Try to consciously feel all the fullness in your being, you might feel joy, love, calmness or excitement. All experiences are allowed, don’t become your own police officer, telling yourself your mind needs to be quiet or you need to feel a certain way. If you then want to find the Creator or the Source, you can continue the adventure by searching for a light right between your eyes (while your eyes are closed), if you see a little light - it may have a particular colour - then you have found the essence of you that is connected to the Source. Say hello again, greet him/her as it were your long lost friend. The Source might answer back. (This can even happen after you just greeted yourself in the earlier stage, because the essence of you is part of The Great Essence).

    Just don’t expect anything, it will not necessarily turn into a glorious spiritual experience, but you will feel much more calm after the adventure.

    See if that works better for you.

    The funny thing is, you may have achieved a very meditative state and maybe even a higher state of consciousness or ultimately powerful spiritual experience without ever having quieted all of your thoughts or mind. Or you might find you actually entered a thoughtless state, without ever attempting that.

    I agree this is a brave question, especially for one of your first posts. Welcome

    I think meditating is different for everyone. I have read that quieting your mind and emptying your mind of all thoughts is the best way to meditate. Others say that they always use the same technique, focus on breathing, a mirror, a candle or a peaceful scene. That may be great for some people or even most people but it never worked for me. I could never find any inner peace by slowing down or trying to quiet my mind so I eventually gave up trying to meditate.

    Years later I found myself thinking very deeply about life while on long walks or jogging long distances. I have done some of my best meditating while riding on a lawnmower with sound protection earphones on. My point is that normal convention may not work for you so figure out what does work.

    After all............what is meditation, it is pondering questions that you really want to be answered. It could be something deep as reincarnation or something as personal as to why did my child get cancer or as broad as why do we have wars or what will cause humanity to move forward in a positive way. Ponder the thoughts that YOU think are important.

    Also a word to the wise, you will get answers but most likely not overnight. It may even take years. Understand that process of discovery is as important as the answers you get.

    I see it in exactly the same way as you! I do use the above technique (in my previous post) from time to time, but I rarely feel the need for it. I realized that my life on Earth is about the experience itself, and about the goals my soul set to come here. In my incarnation here, it is not my purpose to be as much in a meditative state as possible. But at the same time I consider life one big meditation, but indeed in exactly the same way as you described. I philosophy my whole life, for as long as I can remember. I regularly have my conversations with God, just like the title of the famous book series, but in my own way. I consider those the most valuable meditations.

    I've always found it much easier to meditate with a group, if there is one in your area you can meet with.
    If not, sometimes you can find a group online that mediate together at a set time, but in-person is much better if that can be managed.
    Being out in Nature can also be very helpful, with your bare feet on the ground, and as much of your body touching the earth or a tree, preferably Oak, Redwood or Sequoia.
    A housecat can also help a lot with grounding your energy, which is the first step in a good meditation

    The process of meditation is just the tip of the iceberg. You need to be conscious and aware of your thoughts, feelings, automatic reactions, behaviours, cravings, scrolling on your phone, binge watching tv series etc. in your daily life. Be aware every time something arises and ask yourself "where did this come from? Is it a genuine creative impulse or is it out of habit to keep me in automatic pilot?".

    This process of staying alert yet detached during your day or night, is what will make the actual meditation much easier, whatever the ritual is. It will also help you immensely to stop the habitual thinking and acting. You'll eventually realize how much energy we waste the whole day by doing things we always do just because we're accustomed to it. All that power will return to you.

    Otherwise, we just use meditation as a means to escape, as a salvation from the rest of our life, which makes no sense. When we change our stance on our inner every day life, then meditation becomes a deeper connection to the source.

    Getting to the Source, if by that you mean satori, can take lifetimes, or can happen quite soon in one's practice--it just depends on the individual.
    But satori is not necessarily the "be all and end all" of mediation.
    Being observant of everything that is going on inside of us is of great value and can be achieved if one really perseveres; it can be very transformative in a different way, though it may seem like there are endless layers to penetrate.
    It's better not to have a lot of expectations and goals, but to be persevering is always good.
