Default Earthquakes on La Palma appear in exact grid pattern

    I just came across this...
Earthquakes on La Palma appear in an exact grid pattern.

    Please see for yourself:

That is bizarre; I'm no seismologist but I do look at extreme weather and other natural events worldwide to see what's going on and I've never seen anything like that.

I took a look at several current earthquake hotspots and nope, nothing like it. One of the most active at the moment is the Greek island of Crete and as you can see from this screenshot, the events are in a random pattern.

I guess the aim is to create a massive landslide and an even more massive tsunami...

Would all the mass that was once way down deep, but is now on the surface due to the lava, add to the weight and in turn the stress on the surface, such that the probability of a catastrophic failure and slip into the Atlantic Ocean is increased?

PA veterans who followed the "El Hierro" thread might remember a similar stunt... Hervé explained it was due to the graphic software zooming capability which goes only down to a finite number of decimals and rounding the number to the nearest upper figure.

    Clif High concurs:
For the skeptics, Hervé suggested to retrieve the locations of these earthquakes from the IGN tables and plot them to the last computed decimal on a map... that should demonstrate the absence of a set grid.

I thought the same, but I think what makes the placement appear more random in Crete, is that there are fewer dots, and the larger ones extend to the side and bottom, making them look out of line. If there were more quakes in the area, they would end up looking more like a grid. Having said that, I would not be at all surprised if they were messing about with things like HAARP, but they'd probably take care not to create unnatural looking patterns.

    Hey Anna!
What you wrote just above is exactly what I wrote to hours earlier in another thread about La Palma.

"Then, look at Crete. The area is just south of the town of Heraklion (I once got totally lost there, by car...).
When he zooms in, you see also lots of earthquakes, but here TOO, they are "in a grid pattern".
Only, not every "dot" (or the coordinates) in the grid has an earthquake in it.
So, the grid pattern is less obvious (but it is still there)."
