Default In Favour of Gender Ideology?

When reading the following article and agreeing and disagreeing with some of the points, I started wondering about some of the cultural backgrounds and influences of those pushing Gender Ideology and bringing laws to pass.

I started thinking about multiculturalism in our western societies and how Gender Ideology could actually have a powerful and positive impact in cultures heavily steeped in male/female identities that impose brutal restrictions on both sexes, e.g. burkhas, female castration, multiple wives... and all the rest.

This movement is running full steam ahead under the "human and civil rights" banner.  It's more than just Ken and Barbie swapping roles.  And the confusion is evident even in the alphabet communities.

Quote A tribunal in Canada recently ruled that refusing to use someone’s correct pronouns violates their human rights. As the head of the tribunal put it, ‘especially for trans, non-binary, or other non-cisgender people, using the correct pronouns validates and affirms they are a person equally deserving of respect and dignity’.
    [...]
Trans activists have won sympathy and support by claiming that their oppression is similar to the historical oppression of black people. The cause of trans rights is therefore presented as a civil-rights cause. Yet one of the distinctive features of trans activism is that, while it insists on civil rights for those it claims to represent, it has no inhibitions about curtailing the civil rights of opponents – especially their freedom of speech.
Then there's this which can be seen as extreme:

Quote In many parts of North America, the policing of gender-related language is backed up by formal and informal sanctions. Directives issued in 2015 by New York City’s Commission on Human Rights state that employers and landlords who intentionally use the wrong pronouns with their non-binary employees or tenants can face fines of up to $250,000.
But is it?  Are these laws - that are outrageous to "us" westerners who have had the privilege to fight and win women's rights, gay marriages, and freedom from segregation - actually helping men and women that are fighting to resist and change barbaric laws found within their "cultural norms" as they live and breathe in New York?

It makes sense East in the West would want serious civil rights leverage to send back to their homelands to help free their families and friends from male/female oppressions.  Doesn't it?  And where better to start than in the West.

Is this movement wanting total global reach and recognition that results in global law?  What if this movement was predicted to be powerful enough to overturn centuries of dogma faith?  Wouldn't it also then make sense that it would be hijacked and turned into a circus with horrific extremes in order to crush it.  Are we actually enabling the dogma oppressors by resisting without helping?

Maybe we need to actually get on board this ship, that has clearly sailed, to help contribute intelligent checks and balances so the good can be carved out of this movement and the extreme propaganda can be disabled and discarded.
