Default (Temporary) Live feed from 3649 meters down, off California coast

Thought this might be interesting to some people here. ROV underwater exploration in progress, ROV from CalTech Marine Lab. Looking at a hot vent at 3649 meters down.

Since that video is over 3 & 1/2 hours long, can anyone tell us succinctly why this is significant?
    Evidence of new volcanic activity...or...?
    Thanks!

Sorry for the poor intro to the video, onawah. It was a live feed, now it's archived, and was simply some scientists poking around and taking samples and measurements at a hot vent deep in an ocean canyon, off California. It isn't significant, it was just a live feed from the bottom of the ocean. I got alerted that it was streaming and watched a little bit of it. Scientists doing sciency stuff, in a cool location. I'm not recommending that anyone go back through any of it, it was just kinda fun to watch a little bit of live action from the deep.

Sort of like a wildlife camera, but with some humans and a robot too.

Well, I shouldn't have said it's not significant, just not something critical to see. Not covid or cryptocurrency or shadow government level importance stuff, but Avalon is broad in scope and, well, I thought interesting enough to share.

Here's an article from 2015, describing the same general site:

Researchers discover deepest high-temperature hydrothermal vents in Pacific Ocean

ANY underwater vids off of the coast of California are of immediate interest even if they're not specifically in an area that most of us suspect that there are entrances to caverns used by TPTB or ET.

Don't apologize, Dennis. If all that the PA forum is good for is bringing our attention to various online vids then this one is just as good as any other. I, for one, would like to see less sensationalism here - repeated ad infinitum in many cases - and more of general interest to inquiring minds. Too bad three and a half hours is too long for some attention spans or 'sensibilities.'

3649 meters is a long way down. If that's not a typo I'll soon find out.

True, it's interesting because we hardly ever have an opportunity to see the life that is in our oceans. So many types of animals and very strange looking but fun to see.

    Thanks for sharing your comments.

I suppose another aspect of something like this is to show a handful of working scientists, doing serious scientific research, and showing a bit of their playfulness and some instantaneous childlike reactions to what they are seeing - like the spontaneous giggling upon seeing a shrimp's eyes, lit up by the robot's lights. I haven't met any of the scientists in that video (my brother works with some of them), but have had a chance to meet some of their predecessors at that marine lab. Bright, witty, adventuresome (most of them scuba dive at the very least), and even the eggheads among them were on their toes for the wry wit flying around. Human. Real.

I've got a feeling that this is true in many cases, with many scientists around the world. Those of us paying attention to weaponized science and the nefarious uses of science against humanity might not know that science probably isn't a field where it is rotten to the core, through and through, but rather one in which compartmentalized real science is done by innocent/beneficent scientists, and the results, conclusions, secondary analysis, discoveries, and raw data are cherry-picked and twisted, omitted when inconvenient, and whatever can be weaponized is weaponized - by a few people at the top of the chain of command.
