Quote Frank Csorba, decorated University of Lynchburg runner, dies at 23

    Ben Cates Apr 25, 2024

Frank Csorba, a runner at the University of Lynchburg who last month helped bring a national track and field title to the school, died unexpectedly Tuesday. He was 23 years old.

A cause of death has not yet been released.

Csorba, a graduate student, was a member of the men's cross country and track and field teams at Lynchburg.

The school's distance medley relay team — comprised of Csorba, Jacob Hodnett, Sam Llaneza and Chasen Hunt — captured the NCAA Division III national championship in Virginia Beach in early March, running a 9:47.17. Csorba ran the opening 1,200-meter leg, and the team finished with the best time in championship history.

On March 2, Csorba was Division III athlete of the week by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. He became the first male from the ODAC ever to win the award. Only three other track and field athletes from the ODAC, all females, had been awarded that honor.

"It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, teammate, and friend Frank Csorba," the post read. "Since his first steps on campus, Frank was a light to so many, epitomizing the power of joy in the journey. Through the years, he lifted others to reach the impossible and smiled with every run. As a champion, warrior, and leader, he fought persistently to continue battling for his team. While we knew and loved our groundbreaking, record-setting national champion, we treasure the beautiful memories we have shared with our brother."

Calls to a university spokesperson seeking additional comments were not immediately returned Thursday.

Csorba was scheduled to participate in an event at the ODAC Outdoor Championships, to be held Friday and Saturday in Bridgewater.

He received his national athlete of the week honor after running a 13:56.44 in the 5,000-meter run at the Raleigh Relays. That time shattered his personal record in the event by more than 12 seconds and served as the seventh-best performance in Division III history, according to a release from the school's athletic communications office.

That time also was the best in Div. III for the 2024 outdoor season, and the release noted that it "all but guarantees he'll be racing for a third All-America award at the outdoor championships in May."

Csorba was a Boydton native, a small town in Mecklenburg County. He won a conference title while in high school at Bluestone, and showed up at Lynchburg as a freshman in 2019, with closely cut blonde hair and piercing blue eyes showing through in his athletic picture for that year. He was a distance runner then, and he only improved throughout five years at Lynchburg.

Csorba was a criminology student in the master of public health program. His favorite book was "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince." He was born on Dec. 12, 2000.

Lynchburg held a vigil at Shellenberger Field to honor his memory on Wednesday evening.

A separate Instagram post from the school's athletic account read: "Frank was a celebrated and decorated member of our cross country and track & field teams as a six-time All-American, and just last month shared the NCAA distance medley relay title with his teammates. Details regarding a memorial service will be communicated once available, and emotional support resources for the campus community have been provided."

Quote Former EuroCup champ Ruben Douglas dead at 44

    26/APR/24
    By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

Former EuroCup champion and Finals MVP Ruben Douglas died at 44 years of age, his former team Fortitudo Bologna announced. Douglas had a sudden health problem in Costa Rica that proved to be fatal, his brother Ramon informed the Italian club.

Douglas, a notable scoring guard during his playing days, was a legendary figure for Fortiudo. In the 2005 Italian League Finals vs. Olimpia Milano, he drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer of Game 4 that handed Bologna a 3 – 1 win in the series and the second championship title in club history.

That summer Douglas moved to Russia for Dynamo Moscow. He led the team to winning the EuroCup title, earning Finals MVP before moving to Spain for Valencia where he spent the next three years.

Douglas, an American-born player who played with Panama’s national team in the 2006 World Championship, also had stints with Lottomatica Roma in Italy, Panionios in Greece, Cajasol in Spain, and Usak Sportif in Turkey. He played 23 EuroLeague games and had 40 EuroCup appearances.

Quote Tongan Rugby World Cup hero Heamani Lavaka dies aged 55: ‘Heart-wrenching’

One of the loving father’s three kids shared tragic details of the fight he lost ‘when he took his last breaths’.

    By Harrison Reid

Heamani Lavaka has passed away aged 55.
Former Tonga rugby international Heamani Lavaka has died aged 55.

Lavaka was a member of Tonga’s 2003 World Cup squad in Australia, where he played four games in the tournament.

He made over 100 appearances for Eastern Suburbs before a two-year stint with the Melbourne Rebels.

The father of three underwent a number of surgeries after he was admitted to hospital in Sydney last month due to severe internal bleeding.

Easts Rugby CEO Dominic Remond delivered the news with a heavy heart.

“It is with a mix of sadness and pride that we bid farewell to one of our esteemed players, Heamani ‘The Hammer’ Lavaka,” he said.

“Heamani’s journey with Easts Rugby Club is one of dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment. From his early days gracing the fields of our club to his stellar performances during the success era from 2001 to 2009, including an undefeated Shute Shield competition in 2003 and a 2006 grand final.

“Heamani has left an indelible mark on our club’s history. His achievements extend far beyond the boundaries of our club, as Heamani proudly represented Tonga on the international stage, earning his first cap in 1996 and showcasing his talent in the 2003 Rugby World Cup before returning to Parkes and continued to terrorise opposition teams in both country rugby union and rugby league competitions.

“Affectionately known as ‘The Hammer’, he was renowned for his tenacity, resilience, and sheer dominance on the field while also having a lovable and friendly spirit to socialise off the field, leaving a lasting impression on opponents and fans alike.

“Even as he transitioned to new chapters in his life, with his beloved partner, Dierdre, where they had the joy of raising their two daughters, Emeline and Leilani along with his son Toutai.

“As we bid farewell to Heamani, let us reflect on the countless memories he has provided us over the years and the legacy he leaves behind.

“He will forever be remembered as a true legend of Easts Rugby Club, embodying the spirit and values that define our community.”

Former Tongan national skipper Inoke Afeaki was among the first to pay tribute.

“Heart-wrenching loss, rest in peace, Heamani Lavaka,” Afeaki said.

“One of Tonga’s biggest 2003 Rugby World Cup unsung heroes who did some serious grind work to help catapult an amazing young batch that went on to wow the world in the following 2007 and 2011 RWCs.”

Emeline Lavaka posted a heartful message after her father’s passing on Facebook.

“Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our dad’s large and wonderful life. Dad passed away yesterday (Monday, April 22),” she wrote.

“He fought right until the very end and he was surrounded by so much family, music and love when he took his last breaths. Dad was incredibly peaceful in his last moments.

“Thank you to everyone who has sent us messages of support during this time. Your love is very much appreciated.”

Quote 76ers All-Star center Joel Embiid says he has Bell’s palsy

    BY DAN GELSTON
    April 26, 2024

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia 76ers All-Star center Joel Embiid has been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy, a form of facial paralysis he says has affected him since before the play-in tournament.

Embiid wore sunglasses to the podium after he scored 50 points in the Sixers’ Game 3 win over the New York Knicks and said he’s dealt with various symptoms such as blurred vision and dry eyes.

Embiid said he first started noticing the affliction about a “day or two” before the Sixers played the Miami Heat on April 17 in the play-in tournament. Embiid had 23 points and 15 rebounds in the win that sent the Sixers to the playoffs.

Embiid complained of migraines but “thought it was nothing” before he finally notified doctors he wasn’t feeling well.

“My body was just, I was just not feeling it,” Embiid said. “Yes, it’s pretty annoying. My left side of my face, my mouth and my eye. It’s been tough. But I’m not a quitter. I’m going to keep fighting through anything. It’s unfortunate, that’s the way I look at it. But it’s not an excuse. I’ve got to keep pushing.”

Last season’s NBA MVP, Embiid was 13 of 19 from the floor, made 19 of 21 free throws and hit five 3-pointers in Game 3.

The Knicks lead the series 2-1 and Game 4 is Sunday in Philadelphia.

Embiid had been wearing sunglasses throughout the series and conducted a Game 2 postgame interview with his head down in front of his locker to hide his symptoms.

Embiid said he has no timetable on how long it may take to recover from Bell’s palsy.

“It hasn’t really necessarily gotten better,” he said. “With the conversations that I’ve had, it could be weeks, it could be months. I just hope that it stays like this. I’ve got a beautiful face. I don’t like when my mouth is looking the other way. Unfortunate situation but everything happens for a reason.”

In how many institutions are the true numbers of CVX induced deaths and turbo cancers hidden by managers, owners and elected officials who oversee the public disclosure of those numbers? How many managers and officials of both private and public businesses that employ the people who are at the core of their very existences are telling those same vital employees the truth that they know about the "excess" deaths and injuries since the CVX was mandated as a requisite for employment?

Yesterday I was greeted by an old friend I knew in film. He has been employed in a position of protecting the health and safety of workers in both union and independent films. He asked if I knew of the death of someone we both knew who unexpectedly died at the young age of 39. Some day his friends will organize a charity golf tournament in his honor. I'm sure he'll be there in spirit, rainbows dancing in the sky acknowledging the love he shared with those who knew him. I had not seen this caretaking friend for 6 years. Yet another health care worker just told me the same thing the day before, and I hadn't seen him for 8 or 9 years. That was not a coincidence.

When I saw this all begin in late 2019 my senses became heightened and I began to look at all of the research I had written, documented/downloaded and copied to ext.Hard Drives, then to high capacity thumb drives, over the accelerated 21 years I knew how important recording the evidence would be. When Naomi Wolfe, with Amy Kelly's tremendous efforts at overseeing and guidance, started up a research portal on dailyclout.io I volunteered, along with 3,500 others to dive into Pfizer's release of it's documents and find out whatever the Pfizer researchers and their controllers knew from their first recorded attempts at the use of an "experimental" injection. As of this date, April 29, 2024 these researchers have produced 98 Reports on the subject

I do not consider, when knowing just how decisions are made in the Orc Occupied towers of the depraved owners within the medical cabal, that anything they do is experimental. They knew. They know, within a decimal of a percent, just how many were going to die and become injured. More importantly the profit to be earned by their lies has always been the true calculus they use for all decisions they make, your health be damned.

It was soon after reading only a small amount of those documents that I realized I had more documentation from the history of institutionalized and corporate driven medicine to write accurately about the overriding goals and manipulations of the public than could be ignored, thus minimizing any efforts I could contribute to the valid and self sacrificing efforts that those other researchers are making. I was reassured about my lifelong decisions to study elsewhere, to fit any insight I may have that was of worth to anyone else into another format. If there was anything I could do in this area of research it would be to offer a primer on how to translate the b.s. narratives in grant driven research papers, drafts proposals and grant requests I have encountered for decades in the sciences.

When I became involved in institutions of all sorts, schools, colleges, universities and unions I recognized the same core elements of misdirection, of deceit and greed from the outcomes of being involved as an employee or a manager. I always ask from the most important and basic fundamental heart of people being involved in each others lives, at what point in your understanding of a threat to the lives of those we serve do you stand up, speak up, write and confront the continuance of harm to anyone? Seeing these friends of mine go out of their way to tell me these things that I very early on warned the entire union leadership about, with all of the references, my opinions and as much memie humor I could muster, was a very sad reminder of how alone we are at times when we do what I consider to be normal while living here.

The promising future I had to leave, pales in comparison to the silence that the collective members of the union spoke in the last 4 years. I am always okay, as is my future. It's my norm, but I will never reconcile with that silence, that unrequited regret I see and hear from those who did not find their own "union" with their friends and coworkers. If not now, my friends, then when the F"K ever? And I mean when the F"K?!

I asked one of my friends just how many died from the mandated clot shot, and much to my disappointment he lowered his head and walked away, knowing I wanted to hear more, to become clear from their experiences at least, while they were and are still in the mix, in positions where they should know more than anyone, even the "covid coordinators" in the film union who have to have known, and still know, the highly questionable testing and cvx mandates they were getting paid to administer. All of the shots couldn't have been placebos. We have only the memory of young, middle aged and older friends from the union as proof.

That could have been a starting point to work on solutions, to find strength together, to find out what the true numbers were or were not, when I consider how F'd up even one known death from a mandate is, especially in a union where basic human rights to make our own medical decisions were completely, and unlawfully, ignored. Which if any of the film union members will work on and get any FOIA requests answered?

For those that do their due diligence, watch and see what elected and unelected union members locally and at the national level put up any resistance to a request for your rights to know any and all threats to your health and to your life. You'll find the proof of something other than loyalty to an oath or any mandate to uphold the integrity of union laws. It's unlikely that you'll get anyone individually copping to their complicities, but you'll at least have a foundational, legal basis for finding the truth.

Many are these questions to be answered by some who read this. I ask them to do their human duties, wherever they are, whomever they are. I ask them to join those who have spoken up, when now there are more than enough fellow employees to make speaking up much easier and for them individually to be protected by the sheer numbers of injuries and deaths they know about, simply supported by the unending proofs to be found in the data.

This week I expect the folks at dailyclout.io to produce the now revealed data on the Ontario Provincial Government's medical proofs of "extraordinary", "excess", "beyond the statistical norm" of deaths, miscarriages, infertility, and gynecological abnormalities present in the few years since the kill shot was introduced, proofs far exceeding the total numbers of those conditions recorded from all previous years combined.
