Jackson State University identified the student as Geronimo Warner.

JSU announced Warner’s death on Wednesday, saying that the university is mourning the loss of one of its students.

Quote High School Athlete Dies Suddenly at 16, Remembered for His 'Everlasting Smile'

    By Lorri Wickenhauser
    October 21, 2022 at 11:22am
A community in New York has come together to support the family of a local high school student who died suddenly Oct. 14.

Jack Aidan Strehl, 16, was a junior at Arlington High School in LaGrangeville, where he was a shot putter and discus thrower on the track and field team.

His cause of death has not been released.

A GoFundMe campaign organized by Jennifer Sullivan had raised more than $74,000 by Friday morning toward funeral expenses and financial expenses associated with the death.

“Sometimes, there are no words,” Sullivan wrote in the fundraising appeal. “Sometimes, our love and support for a family is all we can do during a difficult time.”

“No family should have to pay for a funeral for their child,” she concluded.

Jack’s obituary referred to him as “an all-American boy” with an “everlasting smile.”

It said he earned his black belt in taekwondo in July 2017 when he was only 11, after just five years of training.

“This was a very proud moment for Jack and his family as it taught him respect, humility, perseverance, self control, honesty, concentration, belief, discipline and appreciation. Jack worked hard at applying these principles throughout his life,” the obituary said.

Jack had worked since age 14 on the maintenance crew at the Links at Union Vale and was an avid dirt bike rider.

“Most recently, Jack earned his driving permit and was excited to test out the shocks and right rear tire, hitting all the ditches while making right turns with his Mom’s Pilot, a car he was to receive,” his obituary said.

“Jack had also attended two college fairs, where he was excited to plan a future in either Engineering or explore the new Aviation program at DCC.

“Jack’s future was bright, but sadly it was cut short.”

“Sudden illness” might be a euphemism for “game play mishap”.

Kate Moran was another young woman lost due to the game. April ‘22.

Here is an explainer vid about the game, which shows the hazard.

Active kids in their teens and 20's "dying suddenly", whether from suicide, the jab, or other causes look to be spiking? So needless. I feel we are facing into some hard times ahead.

I really empathise with young people today, they have been so heavily targeted on all sides since birth, not easy..... we all need healing.

-French referee Johan Hamel tragically passed away on Wednesday morning
-It was reported that the 42-year-old had suffered a stroke on Tuesday in training
-Hamel was a veteran of 136 Ligue 1 games after top-flight promotion in 2016-17

French referee Johan Hamel tragically died on Wednesday after suffering a stroke in training on Tuesday.

Hamel, 42, was a veteran of over 130 games in the French top-flight, and made his Champions League debut as a fourth official a fortnight ago in Celtic's defeat away to Real Madrid in the final round of group stage fixtures.

His final game came on November 6, when he overaw Lille's Ligue 1 clash with Rennes, before taking on fourth official duties in PSG's meeting with Auxerre on Sunday, November 13.

With more than 300 professional games to his name as a referee, Hamel's shock passing comes after he suffered a stroke whilst undergoing routine exercises in training.

He has also gradually made the transition into officiating in continental clashes, and this season had taken on fourth official duties in two Europa League games and a Conference League qualifier, as well as one Champions League clash.

A statement from the Union of Elite Football Referees (SAFE) read: 'Arbitration is in mourning. We learn of the death of our colleague and friend, Johan Hamel, Ligue 1 referee, at the age of 42.

'To his family, relatives and friends, the SAFE and the arbitrators send their deepest condolences. Johan, we will miss you.'

Legendary referee Pierluigi Collina has also paid tribute to Hamel. 'The refereeing world and all match officials here at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar are united in grief over the unexpected passing of our colleague and friend Johan Harmel.

'We collectively send our heartfelt condolences to Johan’s family, relatives and friends.'

Quote 'Eric was loved': Family, teammates mourn death of 13-year-old athlete

Eric Homersham, a Grade 8 student at West Island College, died Nov. 9 after collapsing at a school basketball tryout

Author of the article: Jason Herring
    Publishing date:Nov 15, 2022 •

A Calgary youth hockey club is honouring the life of a 13-year-old player who died unexpectedly last week.

The tragedy has reverberated through his Calgary Wolverines team and among his family and friends.

“There’s been an outpouring of support, and they’re grieving because Eric was loved,” said Robert Homersham, Eric’s father.

“He had a lot of friends. He was a real generous, warm-hearted kid. A bit of a prankster, a funny kid, obviously taken from us far too soon. He would have had a great life.”

“We’re heartbroken, and we’re probably forever going to be heartbroken,” added Eric’s mother, Kathy. “He had such zest for life.”

They described their son as a natural athlete who loved the ice as much as he loved the links, spending endless hours on the golf course. With a love for the outdoors, he was a mainstay riding his scooter or bike with his friends through his Willow Park neighbourhood.

bout 500 people attended the tribute game, with emotions running high as supporters packed the Acadia Recreation Complex. That support shows how many lives Eric touched, his parents said.

“It was very, very moving in a time when we were so overwhelmed, and we still are, with grief and sadness that Eric’s gone,” Robert said.

“I could see the kids were struggling. This was not an easy thing for them to deal with, of course, but I’m glad they did it because I think it helped to play, to get back into the sport.”

Eric’s legacy will be felt far beyond his Wolverine family, Kathy said.

“He has touched so many people, in his hockey absolutely, but it is also around the community that we live in and the school community,” she said.

“Everywhere he went, people wanted to be with him. People gravitated to become his friend.”

Quote Woman suddenly drops dead while working out at gym in shocking video

    By Jack Hobbs
    December 7, 2022

A 28-year-old woman unexpectedly dropped dead while working out at a gym in Ecuador.

The woman — who was identified as Betsy Dayana Jaramillo Ramírez — is believed to have suffered a heart attack at Zona Muscular gym in Santa Rosa, El Oro province, on Nov. 29.

Ramírez was captured on the gym’s video footage doing squats and weightlifting when she suddenly stopped and fell forward, face-planting on the floor.

Other gym-goers, most of them women, rushed to help Ramírez. They sat her in the recovery position while continuously checking her pulse until paramedics arrived.

Ramírez was rushed to Santa Teresita Hospital but arrived with no signs of life. Doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Police and doctors have yet to issue a cause of death, however, it is believed that Ramírez suffered a heart attack.

There are a number of threads this belongs on, depending on more detail perhaps, still horrific.

Quote Teen cricketer dies while practising catches

Dipankar Das, 18, a Class XII student of Narua Siksha Niketan, was playing on the grounds of Chandernagore Santan Sangha

An 18-year-old budding cricketer had a fatal cardiac arrest while practising catches on Friday morning in Hooghly’s Chandernagore.

Dipankar Das, 18, a Class XII student of Narua Siksha Niketan, was playing on the grounds of Chandernagore Santan Sangha.

Eyewitnesses said that during one of the attempts to catch the ball, Dipankar slumped unconscious. Taken to a hospital, he died on Friday evening.

“He was a cricket enthusiast and a good player,” said Animesh Bhar, the cricket coach.

Doctors said primary investigation showed the boy died of sudden cardiac arrest. Family members could not confirm heart disease.

“It was a sudden cardiac arrest while he was playing. There could have been undiagnosed heart-related problems,” said a doctor.

On December 7, a 16-yearold from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur died while playing cricket. “It is called silent cardiac arrest. Anyone can fall prey to it,” the doctor added.
