    Default Star Wars

This is probably be hilarious to read, even if short read, but i wanted to tell you because today i just realized how funny it is, when compared with most other countries

The way i got introduced to the Star Wars universe, and all related stuff like the animated tv shows and so on, was not by watching a movie or one of the tv series. It was by reading a Manga from Japan

Growing up, my country was in completely disarray, it was hard to find interesting stuff, and a lot of things i could find were brought from Japan or China and near countries, that was way easier than finding or watching things from the US or countries on that region. I also continually was able to access things through my dad, all i wanted that could be sent over or brought home by him every month or so, that's how i learned about this manga

    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars_Manga

I had completely forgotten about how it all started, but now i remember. It got me hooked badly into Star Wars, i could not think of anything else for months and months, i collected the original movies, posters, games and everything else i could get (it's not as easy or cheap as in the US, trust me). Then i watched all the movies in sequence 2, 3, 4 times in a row, and up to the last movie

I was unable to read it entirely, but my dad used to read it with me, and explain what was going on while i watched the images over and over

I have not watched the Mandalorian in full yet, so no spoilers please

Do you like the Star Wars stuff?

I've watched all 6 star wars films a lot.. and likely that number will keep growing. This doesn't count the nights i let them play as I fell asleep.

Mandalorian was good, and I am hopeful for the Obi Wan series.

I was so much into Star Wars ever since childhood as I saw the original trilogy, it was like my religion. Of course the new trilogy after that was a big thing back then even if those movies were awful and don't even get me started on the terrible dialogue. The hype over 20 years ago was just insane. Also the last trilogy which Disney made was something that got me excited in the beginning and then it all ended very badly thanks to poorly thought-out storyline and characters.

Anyways, I always was fascinated by the fantasy world of Star Wars, read plenty of those books and comics, back then I thought those comics were the best thing ever. They made a lot interesting shows and animations, many of them were good or at least decent. I also played most of the games more than I would even dare to admit.

I wanted to be a Jedi, but sadly it's not possible to build lightsabers quite yet.

I just have to post these here.

    This is just my opinion:

There are 6 "real" Star Wars movies, those made by George Lucas.

There are 5 "fake" sjw bs movies which in my mind don't deserve to be called Star Wars movies, as they are an offence to the SW legacy.

Thanks for that .... so it is a 'fans' concept.
As said, I have not watched all of them .... only the first three made and I watched many years ago at the picture house.

The ones I have are (in chronological order):

    1 Phantom menace
    2 Attack of the Clones
    3 Revenge of the Sith
    4 Solo
    5 Rogue One
6 Star Wars a new hope
    7 The Empire Strikes Back
    8 Return of the Jedi
    9 The Force Awakens
    10 The Last Jedi
    11 The Rise of Skywalker

On a quick look .... I can find no definitive listing of who was involved in each .... So which are made by George Lucas?

The first six, but the first three were a collaborative project between different artists including George, his wife and others. The original trilogy, Episodes IV-VI and later they were edited and "enhanced" quite heavily by George. Episodes I-III were directed and visioned only by George and all the yes-men surrounding him, hence the lackluster quality of those movies. I hear that younger generation tends to like them, but I have not wanted to watch them again except maybe for Episode I as it has some redeeming qualities despite Jar Jar being in it.

You should watch them yourself and then decide if you liked them or not, including the later ones. I have to say though, Episode 9 is just really comically bad and kinda ruins the whole story arc of the series, it should be considered bad fan-fiction written by drunken monkeys. Chronologically the story begins from Episode 1 as George envisioned it, but often it's considered normal to watch the original trilogy first and many won't even bother to watch Episodes I-III. They have their moments, but I'm not a fan of them even as a fan of Star Wars, people are just very divided about them it seems. They used a lot of CGI and green screens on those movies, they don't look that great anymore. Also the dialogue could be cringeworthy and plots were at times boring. They just feel like they were targeted for more younger audience, the older ones would satisfy both children and adults.

The new ones created by Disney which came out a few years ago were somewhat decent and then not so great, I think they tried and ultimately failed quite badly. For nostalgia reasons they have some value and of course it was really nice to see them in the movie theaters, I had not seen other Star Wars movies in theaters besides Episode III. Rogue One was pretty great though, but it's a bit different kind of Star Wars movie. I have never even seen Solo yet, not really interested in that.

Pretty much, though I wasn't sure that Rogue One and Solo were being counted.. So given that I would say ... yeah still 6 lol. To be fair, Rogue One was a good production but it's hard to be too invested when there's no uncertainty.. after watching Ep.IV A new hope, you know how it ends.

The Last Jedi hands down was the best visually, those location shots and the effects are all next level!..maybe you'll get the chance to peg a spot in the future?... Music & Audio in TLJ equally brilliant and the pacing (apart from the casino planet, utter waste of time) was really well done.... but my god, the story/plot was painful.. really so painful.. which inevitably resulted in Rise of Skywalker destined to be a pile Banther fodder.

Agreed with most of Wind's previous write up but in regards to George Lucas' films, I hold a very unpopular opinion among Star Wars fans, I regard The Phantom Menace as best of the lot (Fight me) .... so that just goes to show no matter if you've watched from the beginning or just discovering... there's no one opinion more valid than other and it's all subjective. I recall as a kid having an "original" Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles manga comic. This was before Archie Comics bought the rights. This was before colour, when it was in magazine format, before it was "family friendly" - it was very 'adult' and not suitable for children. A very far cry from where the franchise ended up, and frankly, it was ruined as soon as the rights were sold to Archie Comics, and its been ruined ever since.

I always felt bad that something that was so cool in its original inception, became so lame in its mass commercialization.

Star Wars is the best, I am looking at a Vader replica helmet right now that I still have from when I bought it in the 90s. My friend wore it in a school talent show when we light saber dueled, I played Luke Skywalker lol. When I get married, it will happen in Tikal, Guatemala aka Yavin 4.

The first time I saw Star Wars as a kid *genuinely* changed my life. My soul/mind/consciousness shifted out of this reality to somewhere completely different, and I've never been the same since. In this same period I read the Hobbit, discovered Star Trek, and was addicted to Dr Who (this was the Tom Baker era). I was literally forged in these years in the crucible of science fiction and fantasy. I became, you could say, a nerd.

There are to date 4 Star Wars films:

    A New Hope
    The Empire Strikes Back
    Return of the Jedi
    Rogue One

And the series: The Mandalorian (excellent)

The rest ignore, they are BAD. Especially the Disney sequels, which are dumpster fires. The Book of Boba Fett series, although it started strongly, fell flat on its arse and was just, in the end...dumb. The less said about the new Kenobi series the better.

George Lucas originally wanted Orson Welles to voice Darth Vader but thought his voice would be too recognizable.

    James Earl Jones
Quote In 1977, Jones made his debut in his iconic voiceover role as Darth Vader in George Lucas' space opera blockbuster film Star Wars: A New Hope, which he would reprise for the sequels The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983) later on. Darth Vader was portrayed in costume by David Prowse in the film trilogy, with Jones dubbing Vader's dialogue in postproduction because Prowse's strong West Country accent was deemed unsuitable for the role by director George Lucas.[31] At his own request, Jones was uncredited for the release of the first two Star Wars films,[32] though he would be credited for the third film and eventually also for the first film's 1997 "Special Edition" re-release.[33] As he explained in a 2008 interview:
