Unhappy Jonas Salk, creator of the Polio vaccine, wrote a book called "Survival of the Wisest"

Quote *A major threat to the species is attributed to the increasing size of the human population, which, in turn, is ascribed to successes in science and technology. This "explanation" has evoked an attack upon science and the exploitation of its technology, to the development of which are attributed many adverse effects upon the human species and upon other forms of life. ****"Polluters" who befoul the planet affect the "quality of life" and are regarded as a threat to the present and future equilibrium of the species and of the planet. ****Those who consider themselves on the side of Nature, and therefore of the human species, see others in opposition to both Nature and Man. Hence we are to be concerned not only with Man's relationship to Nature but with Man's relationship to himself.*
*"Wisdom has at least persisted in the course of human history. Now we are saying that if the quality of human life is to improve, a process of selection, both natural and human, will have to choose the wisest for positions of influence and of power. Eventually, the struggle in the human domain will be between the wise and the nonwise. This implies that those who lead others in ways that are anti-evolutionary, or that are counter to the natural process of becoming of The BEING, will either be replaced by others possessing wisdom akin to that of Nature, to guide men towards survival with greater satisfaction and fulfillment, or lead Man to disaster.*

Despite the fact that polio vaccines are often seen a one of the main "vaccine success" stories, in reality they likely only caused harm.

Testimony of a doctor at a 1962 Congressional Hearing about mandatory polio vaccines explains why we saw a drastic decrease in polio cases following the widespread use of polio vaccines.

Quote "Prior to 1954 the crieria of diagnosis at that time in most health departments followed the World Health Organization definition: "Spinal paralytic poliomyelitis: signs and symptoms of nonparalytic poliomyelitis with the addition of partial or complete paralysis of one or more muscle groups, detected on two examinations at least 24 hours apart."

Note that “ two examinations at least 24 hours apart" was all that was required. Laboratory confirmation and presence of residual paralysis was not required. In 1955 the criteria were changed to conform more closely to the definition used in the 1954 field trials : residual paralysis was determined 10 to 20 days after onset of illness and again 50 to 70 days after onset. The influence of the field trials is still evident in most health departments ; unless there is residual involvement at least 60 days after onset, a case of poliomyelitis is not considered paralytic"

Another quote from the same hearing.

    History sure does repeat itself:

Quote "Dr. MEIER: How is it that today you hear from members of this panel that the Salk vaccine situation is confused ; yet what everybody knows from reading the newspapers, and has known since the vaccine was introduced, is that the situation as far as the Salk vaccine is concerned was and is marvelous?

The reason for this discrepancy lies, I think, in a new attitude of many public health and publicity men . It is hard to convince the public that something is good.

Consequently, the best way to push forward a new program is to decide on what you think the best decision is and not question it thereafter, and further, not to raise questions before the public or expose the public to open discussion of the issues."

With credit to Paul Harvey (And now for the rest of the story...): If I were the Devil and wanted to control the World, I would develop and unleash on the global population a virus and scare everyone into believing they are faced with a lethal pandemic. Then I would roll out a dangerous vaccine I had already created and tell everyone they must take it because it is the cure....
